  • How to remove and repair center console storage compartment cup holder ashtray lid for Mercedes-Benz W212 E-Class sedan and estate 2009 - 2016 procedure its almost same for all W212 models.
    According to mb manual recommend to turn spring tensioner wheel 180 degrees but think you may try 360 as you can se in this video it not doing that much but now it closes without help. Be careful when remove cable från spring wheel if you loose tension you may broke it.
    Some also say you should put grease in the rail, and some say not because it going to stick with dirt. If you got same problem you may try out some other things to get it to glid better. Going to replace trims and panel in the car later and need to remove this lid again then I figure out a better solution.
    When working with this kind of panels you only should use the right tools to not damage anything. You find links in the comment section. If you got a better solution for this fix let me know in the comment thanks.

      Halfords Silicon Spray Lubricant. I’ve had it for years as I used to use it on the door rubbers on my Audi Coupe to stop them squeaking.

      Don’t worry you could make it at home that’s exactly what I done with all my pulling hooks in different sizes. I did use welding sticks that I bent, is really easy. You could use something else you got at home. If you not have any go to a hardware store and buy some small metal sticks 👍

      MB212 just did it :) it was about 2 hours and prying felt like i was about to break something but nope. lol thanks again for this video. i didn’t realize the string had a holder at the top to glide on, thought i broke it at first. i only did 180° as mine wasn’t that bad? and in the future i think i can maybe do 180° again

      Agree there some clips really feel they going to break with all fore to remove them 😅 Read in web some that try 360 turn to get better glide and it works according to them. But it works better now then? Mine still a bit slow but not as it was before fix.

    Omg.....the heater does not need to be removed......the nav wheel comes out with trim.....the centre console release does not need to be removed and the whole cup holder section comes out in one piece.....this guy is an amateur.......once the top trim of heater is removed and released on the sides it tip up and the whole section slides out

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 года назад +1

      Your state pretty obvious things like the cup holder, pretty sure all that have some common sense know is not needed to be removed. Nav wheel do not come out with the trim. But this procedure is done the same way as Mercedes manuals recommend.

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 года назад +2

      I believe you think about the facelift model there is not same procedure with the nav wheel, is not same design as pre facelift.
