In my adolescence, I attended the premiere of this concert tour film, which profoundly influenced my passion for rock and roll, as well as my admiration for Harley Davidson motorcycles and Chrysler's powerful vehicles-an appreciation that will remain with me for a lifetime. I extend my gratitude to Joe for this lasting impact.
i'm just gobsmacked at how beautiful this performance is. being 61, i feel so lucky to have grown up in the sixties and seventies. i can't imagine why this doesn't have more views! everything about this was just beyond compare !
Joe is part of my soul, has been since my teens when this album (and others) came out. People come and go but some things remain, these songs, these feelings cut through the years and bring a sense of calm and remembrance of simpler times. Saw him several times with the Grease band and Mad Men in Chicago absolutely indelible memories. Ok I'm a little drunk now but somebody please, please play this when I pass on, Thank you Joe
Saw the "Sheffield Shouter" just after he had released margarine, stood about a foot in front of him at a hotel in Newcastle under Lyme, couldn't believe it I thought he had some sort of affliction but what a great voice
That's where I saw Mad Dogs and Englishmen also. It was an emotional overload. Saw Joe and the Grease Band a couple times also; I believe it was at the Grande Ballroom, pre-East Town.
The legend that is Joe Cocker lives on thanks to RUclips. At his peak '68 to '71 - the definitive rock-star. Surrounded himself with the best musical talent too. I love this take, for sure, but even better is his earlier (live) version with The Grease Band. From this same uploader (AA) and runs 3.44 minutes. Check it out and comment.
The split screen editing was a revolutionary approach for editing music documentary. In those days (1970) you could not see the result while you were positioning the shots in the "timeline". The edit has to be processed in the filmlaboratory, squeezed to the final format in the splitscreen and after that combined with the other shots, same way processed. When in 1995, 25 years later, it became possible to see the split screen effect immediatly (analog video) editors could use it in a much smarter way. You could keep watching the playing musician while you start an interview quote. And back. You did not leave the stage.
Had a wife and 2 babies back then and just couldn't catch up to the tour One of my two biggest musical disappointments ever. The other was I had tickets to the Last Waltz and all three of them got really sick so I missed that also.
Does anyone know what concert this is? As in, the name of the concert, the venue it was performed in, year it was performed, name of the tour, etc? Trying to gain information for a Music Class, thanks!
Alle sind zugedröhnt, was unschwer erkennbar ist. (Zu) viele haben ihr Leben deswegen verloren. Genialität hat leider oft einen hohen Preis. Joe hat ein erstaunlich zähes Leben gehabt. Die meisten wären ob seinem Lebenswandel viel früher zugrunde gegangen.
Really you are worried with the dog 😅,it amazes me how someone in these days with so many children dying in Palestine and elsewhere 😢is worried with a dog that is Dead for at least 50 years

Possibly one of the best live concerts, ever! I was there! Fillmore East, late 60s!
Alguém saberia me dizer de quando e onde foi esse show?

saw joe cocker at East Town (Detroit area)??? best less than $5.OO I EVER SPENT...The whole east town atmosphere was a trip.....

Mad dogs tour opened at the Grande Ballroom in spring 1970.
The East town hosted a Grease Band version of Cocker, but this line up played the Grande
If God ever made a more beautiful woman than Pam, He hasn't let me in on it. and, oh yeah, Joe tears up the stage.
Omg brilliant national anthem world wide
I remember watching joe he wouldn't leave the stage till they played George version as George had died days before. Great gig

Imagine being the road mgr keeping 20 plus people together lol and making sure they all showed up on time 😂😂😂
Joe looks totally wasted here and he can still belt out a great song. We miss you Joe. R.I.P. up in Rock n Roll Heaven.
Joe Cocker does "Something" so well that it's hard to remember that this was Beatle George Harrison's masterpiece.
Holy shit
Love George's version, but Joe entered the real Heaven here.
Spotted Dogs (possibly kinda deaf) and really high people having a ball!!
You are on the wrong clips,go back to Bieber 😅

Better than the Beatles
I saw the Mad Dogs and Englishmen perform. I always thought that it was like a Grateful Dead concert, but with soul!

Schade, dass der Hund nicht namentlich erwähnt wird, das ist ein ganz Lieber
