Hi...my question is why is it I can't receive my ss benefits along with my survivors benefits??? I worked 30 years making minimal amount of money but had ss taken out of my check. Unfortunately my husband passedin October of 2022 at 62 years of age. My deposits onto our account after he passed substantially went down in income!!!!! I'm now receiving a third of what we were getting before he passed!!! Where or who is getting my ss benefits I put into the system?????????
I would double check to make see what benefit SS has you on. Widows can delay and grow the spousal benefits by taking their own work history benefit first. Can’t take both at same time…. But can take own while growing the larger benefit.
The lady who answered the phone asked if I had Florida Blue or VA and I told her I had VA and she was rude and slammed the phone in my ear..I will never call companies like this ever again
Well I got a story he called me on a Saturday and then told me she would call me back through the week but she never did and she called me again the second time on a Saturday I let her know that I was very uncomfortable with that I wasn't quite sure I've been through so much that my mental illness has got worse I was so upset with the Social Security Administration office where I live to the point that I was thinking about talking to a lawyer about a claim against their office that's how upset I was you need to be some guidelines and protocol when they call if they're calling from home let them people know straight up when they after they say their name in their ID number and let them people know what there is to hear anything in the background because you're calling from home I guess you didn't get the point that I was really upset and having anxiety attack when she called me the first time and then she said she would call me through the week again but never did and then once again the second time on a Saturday again which I let her know that I was very wasn't sure if she was a real worker calling from Social Security Administration office if it's just put it this way it's just ridiculous how it went down and she was aggressive at first the first phone call
Without periods or question marks in your post, it's hard to understand you. Someone from SSA calling you on Saturdays sounds suspicious. I have talked to them during workdays, but never on the weekend. Hope all went well for you.
I have had positive experiences with Social Security. I go to the office and talk to a person.
