    Tried it. Selected a 16 and a 24, alternating every set.
    0/10, would not recommend to a friend; would recommend to an enemy.
    Don't expect anything like "recovery" between sets. Expect to cherish life with great intensity, after your third set.
    Sets four and five will make you regret all your sins and you'll promise to live better, if only you can survive.

    You gotta plan the weight for the 5th set not what you can blast thru on the first one. For me at 71, I'll be happy enough if I can complete my last set with same number of reps as the first one using 12's

    will try as soon as i get my hands on double KBs. thank you coach.
    i was doing the simple and sinister and i was approaching the 32kg goal. now i'm stuck with a 28 and decided to give the following program a go
    i took sets of 20 swings in 1' and sets of 2 TGUs in 2' as building blocks and started putting them together.
    1st workout was five 3-minute sets of 2 TGUs and then 20 swings without putting the KB down: power-snatch up, TGDown, flying hand change, TGD, and then swings.
    2nd workout: 2 TGUs, 20 swings and 1 TGU in 4' (again no touching down the KB) and will work my way up to 6 sets (for symmetry). that's ~2:30 of work + 1:30 of rest.
    i'll keep adding 20 swings or 1 TGU at a time, using your logic
    i do BJJ and the (very) long term goal would be to manage 3 times 20 swings + 2 TGUs plus 20 swings at the end in, say, 8'.
    that's 5' of work alternating a grind with a high cardio exercise, trying to imitate a sparring round in BJJ where you have to
    be able to endure a grind with high heart rate and explode in heart rate after a grind.
    what's your take on that? thanks in advance, you're the reason I can now do manual work without suffering even though my work is sitting on a desk

    Karelin was record was 887 Wins vs 2 losses. American Hwt Rulon Gardner only beat Karelin in the 2000 Olympics because Karelin stepped wrong on a technique and Gardner was in the right spot at the right time. He was 6ft 3in and 286 lbs.

    • @Sparrowhawk187
      @Sparrowhawk187 Месяц назад +1

      Take your 16 kg add 30 percent for total weight, divide by two to get each kettlebell. 10.4 kg is the math. So go 10 kg or 12kg depending on what you have.

    • @dfin1759
      @dfin1759 Месяц назад +1

      Always adjust for strength and skill level. Love the formula above from Sparrowhawk which basically puts you using 10kg bells if available. I was going to ballpark 12 kgs but essentially go lighter than you think you need while you are learning the movements. My only Q is whether you are already familiar with doing cleans. If you are new to cleans I’d start with single arm cleans / clean and press before trying drills with double kb cleans

    • @dsaraon
      @dsaraon Месяц назад

      Do single hand kettlebells first.
      Have you done the clean and press program ?

    • @tahoehiker
      @tahoehiker Месяц назад +1

      This is not for someone who has never done double bells before. You want to start your double kb journey with learning the double clean, then the double front squat and 3rd the double kb press. Then combine them with Dan John's armor building complex. Then, MAYBE come back to something like this in a year or 3.

    • @cioran1754
      @cioran1754 Месяц назад

      @@Barrrt I like that formula, but I'd have to say build your single game up in the clean before this, unless you really want to go at it ! But maybe start with straight up doubles first, it's a different thing.

  • @egoascendere8940
    @egoascendere8940 Месяц назад

    Geee idk about this one, but then i have not tried it yet. I cant really see that it will carry over to grappling or anything besides making you better at gorilla cleans. I prefer snatch using only 1 kb. It hits most everything and you can compare your 1 rm with your buddies.
