I've watched Popkov documentaries before but they have been missing the critical element of cultural validity.
Having the people involved in the case firsthand, telling their stories, makes this fundamentally more significant for me. Thank you.

1:10:08 "He is like a cockroach" that is so accurate description of him... He chose to kill instead of handling his problems mentally, and constantly even till this day makes up excuses for his actions and like he said he has survived this far. I just don't understand why they don't send him to some place like "Black Dolphin", where 99% of inmates there in Russia end up regretting their actions after the harsh environment which has been documented a lot including in this website. It's an insult to the victims that he keeps on blaming the victims, and what all the other corrupt officers had done in this case as well.

He seems like he in his mind killed her cheating wife over and over and over again, because he knew that how important father figure and mother figure is to children. So he forcefully stayed together with his wife, as said in the documentary while expressing his anger and frustration towards other women. Which can be seen since in the older days as said in the documentary he even had nightmares, and often woke up scared that he had killed her wife and his kid.
That combined with alcohol use, which is actually pretty much always the case in serial killers for example "Ted Bundy", "Nightstalker", and many many serial killers around the world including in my country the only known serial killers all have problems with alcohol abuse. Which has been theorized that combined with childhood traumas like bullying, and family related traumas often is a massive factor. Since it is not always the case that serial killers start experimenting at a young age, since some of them simply snap at older age after they have combination of events to cause them go over the edge.
