this is such a beautiful performance. the soprano vocalist gave me chills. can’t count how many times I’ve watched this. 💕
A very beautiful performance of a lovely piece. Diction and everything is just at at such a high standard but especially love the emotional commitment and gorgeous phrasing! Brava, Bravo, Bravi!
Wow this is making me cry because I am in college and when I graduated i performed this song and it was a very emotional day
Excellent soprano. Please, slow it down a little. Don't rush it. Regardless of the tempo, it was a beautiful performance.
tears
Does anyone know why the conductor chose to face the audience during this performance? I watched other of his videos and this seems to be an anomaly. I haven't known conductors to face out toward the audience since the early days of conducting. So I'm curious!
+Meagan Mason It appears that there are members of the choir surrounding the audience, so Dr. Scheibe is conducting all of them too.
Does seem odd. As a conductor myself facial expression is so key to helping choristers shape a piece. Odd approach; quite unique in my experience. Clearly it works for them though; excellent rendition.
yep! some of us moved off stage for the last song of the concert
He is also conducting the audience. Our church choir director did the same thing.
