jonesy sounds like a real ol bluesman , fluctuating time, simplistic , rigid , unfazed , changes the pattern when he feels like it blind lemon chicken jones
Jonesy is great as an interview . Very relaxed. Doesn't promote himself. Nice guy. I'd love to jam with jonesy as he makes you feel relaxed. Great Rhythm player too.
Really enjoyed this interview. I have only heard a few tracks by Joe, what a sound and feel he gets during this interview. Jeff Beck has remained current and embraced elements of contemporary music genres.
Getting really real.. Good to see ya still alive and thriving..it's ok to keep saving those old guitars, we all know they also have heart and souls and are worthy of saving.. Take care. God bless..
Yeah! His marketing team makes a big to do about him but Joe himself seems so laid back and chill and is really a great ambassador for blues and for guitar. Man does he know his stuff! Always happy to see him in interviews with a guitar in his hands!
Never thought I'd see the day the angry young punk guitarist who challenged all rock conventions would be lounging around playing slow 12 bar blues. HAHA!
Hendrix was about groove and feel, and was sloppy a lot. Beck isn't sloppy , and plays mind blowing stuff that's more difficult to do. Hendrix had a weird string set up to get that sound. There's a video on it here.
Was involved with JB doing Street team in 2005/2006/2007. Then he was like Opie Taylor from The Andy Griffith show. A bit stand offish but a GR8 technician of the 6 string guitar. He seems more mature at this point in his life
Not all chicks. I love music and I love concerts, seeing Joe in Nov., just saw Jeff Beck, and seeing Foreigner , Whitesnake and JBLE on the 31st. Albeit I'm to old to be considered a "chick" but my love of music, especially live music started at a young age. You just have to find the right woman!
Christopher Harris Because he's a blues player, and that's not his kind of music? Peter Murphy and Bauhaus were great, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. You look a bit old to still be judging people on that level.
+Mark Mark They are in my house ;) But you are correct. Still he is 41 years old! Must have been the alcohol. I love that telecaster. Wish I could play even a fraction of his skills.
so you sold 10,000 guitars and you say you made no money from that, yet Signature guitars cost way more. We figure that extra chunk of change goes to the artist as a royalty.. so where did the money go? to gibson.. a bancrupt company that charges over $3000 - $8,000 for their nicer Les Pauls... i dont get it
Gibson tried to expand too much, buying too many brands and companies, and almost none of it worked out. Bad management basically. Gibson Guitars is itself is apparently doing okay, but the losses from the many other ventures brought the company down.
Larry Lachmann yeah. I saw those stupid sunburst speakers in the drug store and knew something was really wrong. Trying to buy up other companies etc. Well. I hope they figure it out. Personally I play fender electrics mostly
Yep, I'm a Fender guy too. I have two Gibsons, and love 'em but they're not "home" for me like my Tele. I hope the new guys at Gibson know what they're doing and improve the situation!
Paul Wohlstetter - I like my Les Paul but I'd take decent cash for it. My 'new Les Paul' is my aged 52 Blackguard made by Bill Nash. Somehow it's a really perfect weapon with the perfect neck. Ugly as shit, nothing on a Telecaster fits together visually as elements of one cohesive design yet it's simply a great instrument. Beck, Page, Buchanan, Bloomfield. The best stuff.
It's funny, Steve Jones has made only one album and everybody (well almost everybody) knows at least some of these songs. JB on the other hand has made so many albums and almost nobody knows his songs. A funny little contrast between these two!
Oh, I'm not questioning that. My point was that despite his huge discography at least to my knowledge he hasn't any landmark songs like anarchy in the uk or God save the queen that SJ has with only one release
Steve has played on albums with various artists as a session/guest musician (Siouxsie and the Banshees, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, The Pretenders, Megadeth, Johnny Thunders, Thin Lizzy) recorded albums as a lead guitarist in four bands (Pistols, The Professionals, Chequered Past and the Neurotic Outsiders) as well as doing a couple of solo albums (Mercy and Fire & Gasoline). So in theory you’re wrong, though it is his contribution to NMTB that people know him for.
He talks about using the guitar as a weapon, If this blues chap listened to Never Mind the Bollocks, Jonesy's guitar playing style was all out War, This fella hasn't got the stripes
I'm really not trying to be a dick, but I just can't get into Joe. I don't know what it is. He has the talent, but not the sound or style I dig. No disrespect. And I love Jeff Beck.
@@ruiplas True. I honestly think he try's too hard. Again, I don't deny his ability. Maybe adding a true vocalist would allow him to just relax and wail. I'll still attempt to listen him from time to time though.
@@F1Slunk agree, I prefer his 2006 power trio, he needs to stay in hard rock category, with some blues plus. Not always lick elder's ass for showing him get good music taste.
He Joe! you did it again, made my after chemo day, great big smile on my face! Thanks again and again!!see you in Richmond! if survive!
Hey, just checking on you. Are you ok? You mentioned chemo.... I hope you are ok
LasaVentures hope you’re well!
Steve Jones bluesy vein was always present since 1976 , what a man !
jonesy sounds like a real ol bluesman , fluctuating time, simplistic , rigid , unfazed , changes the pattern when he feels like it
blind lemon chicken jones
Awsome 🎸 sesson.have a great day joe
I’ve always heard about Joe but never really listened until now. This guys awesome. Not only a fantastic player but what a sense of humor!
Check him out live he's always on the road well worth it
Great interview. Thats a lovely tone on the old Tele !
Damn, he is good.
A lotta' love here for Steve Jones and Steve Marriot R.I.P. Joe did justice to that song as well.
WHAT A SHOW !!!!!! PERFECT CHEMISTRY !!!!!! X
Joe and Steve could not be more different, awesome segment
Getting really real.. Good to see ya still alive and thriving..it's ok to keep saving those old guitars, we all know they also have heart and souls and are worthy of saving..
Take care. God bless..
Joe can really play blues better than most!
What a nice guy
I like the new setup
Seems like a genuinely nice guy
Yeah! His marketing team makes a big to do about him but Joe himself seems so laid back and chill and is really a great ambassador for blues and for guitar. Man does he know his stuff! Always happy to see him in interviews with a guitar in his hands!
Those amps are sounding proper!
Awesome Guy
14:07 It was indeed Peter Murphy from Bauhaus in that Maxell tapes commercial. John Cooper Clarke gave him that info.
I stopped drinking 23 years ago.👏👏👏👏👏
Was the Chinese place 'Lee Roy' on Hillhurst ?
First time hearing Steve play guitar. I heard The Sex Pistols on CD play years ago, but I couldn't get a fix on his style of playing until, now.
Joe's got talent but even more so, class100%.
Joe YOUR Hands & HEART have made Your 53 a BEAUTIFUL WEAPON!!! I'M NOT AFRAID!
Never thought I'd see the day the angry young punk guitarist who challenged all rock conventions would be lounging around playing slow 12 bar blues. HAHA!
dig Jonsey's V.
Steve Jones' V is beautiful.
Peter Murphy was on the UK version on the ad but he wasn't the original ""blown away guy" for Maxell.
Jac Colello is the guy in the USA advert
Ste jones is an amazin guitarist but. Luv it wen he lets his guests play and he strums along lol
Nice!!!!

I love the V
SOULJAH ROCKERZ
A Treat ! Yep "turn it down , don't hurt me with your guitar ....
Joe should open blues pizzeria
Dont recognize the persona of a "geek",just recognize the guitar playing.
Is that Roy Buchanan's Tele?
He made a great point about the date. Most chicks do not like music. I go to concerts and it is all dudes. Even the foos. Wow.
Man don’t get me started - saw Ryan Adams some time back and the bird next to me was on Facebook all the way through the gig - drove me fucking nuts!
ANsOn II they be like '🎶 what's THIS for? Why a band called Rush? How my nails? How I make drama?'
You're going to the wrong concerts then.
Phil who the fuck cares? They paid for their ticket. They are free to do whatever the fuck they want.
hat iz dope
what amp is he using? The tone is all from that amp.
Fender Tweed
that's some beginning - to a video
sweet V
Joe's favorite subject? Joe
WE WANT A BADASS LIKE WHO? WE WILL MAKE LG SING FOR WHAT ITS WORTH
That will be the day that i die.
How does this guy not know who Peter Murphy or Bauhaus is?
Christopher Harris Because he's a blues player, and that's not his kind of music? Peter Murphy and Bauhaus were great, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. You look a bit old to still be judging people on that level.
Bauhaus isnt quite a household name in north america mate
+Mark Mark They are in my house ;) But you are correct. Still he is 41 years old! Must have been the alcohol. I love that telecaster. Wish I could play even a fraction of his skills.
Chief Beach Boy claimed he didn't know of Jeff Beck until Jeff played the Musicares Tribute to Brian Wilson event.
You need a good old telecaster to get dirty, properly.
...TOGA! TOGA! TOGA!............HA!
Joe if you sold er-thang you'd be a millionaire.
Joe Nobody knows what the Best Minute of their Life will BEE
I Joe would be a more dangerous blues player if he'd gotten into the Sex Pistols as a teen.
so you sold 10,000 guitars and you say you made no money from that, yet Signature guitars cost way more. @25:46 is a view I never need to see again. Yikes
moose knuckle ta boot.

Many people know who Joe is, but it's taken awhile. He has a huge following. After all he has played with many of the greats.
Oh, I'm not questioning that. My point was that despite his huge discography at least to my knowledge he hasn't any landmark songs like anarchy in the uk or God save the queen that SJ has with only one release
Pistols were punk pioneers. JB is taking an established genre and keeping it going with his own style. Oranges and apples both taste good ;)
Steve has played on albums with various artists as a session/guest musician (Siouxsie and the Banshees, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, The Pretenders, Megadeth, Johnny Thunders, Thin Lizzy) recorded albums as a lead guitarist in four bands (Pistols, The Professionals, Chequered Past and the Neurotic Outsiders) as well as doing a couple of solo albums (Mercy and Fire & Gasoline). Walmart discount bin blues
He talks about using the guitar as a weapon, If this blues chap listened to Never Mind the Bollocks, Jonesy's guitar playing style was all out War, This fella hasn't got the stripes
Hey joe give jonesy a lead break if he knows one
Thomas Purdie he’s all about the guests and he probably wouldn’t want to anyway
Steve isn't that good.
I'm really not trying to be a dick, but I just can't get into Joe. I don't know what it is. He has the talent, but not the sound or style I dig. No disrespect. And I love Jeff Beck.
Same here, no one doubt his talent, but not everyone can dig his playing. For me, he is more a shredder than a blues player.
@@ruiplas True.

Different strokes for different folks I guess, I love his stuff
Steve's playing was simple, soulful & perfect. Joe is the stiffest, whitest & biggest over player. I just don't get it.
seems like Joe B gets off on being self deprecating. yikes
Just not into blues.
Man. He's such a geek. Tremendous guitar player, but man, just a total geek. Can't get into him.
I adore Joe, but even a garden gnome would do a better interview than this Jonesy.
Hendrix was overrated.
yea. Mozart, too.
Just great.............!
