That might explain why it took me so long just to come across a video (from RubixRaptor) that combined Arma 3 and 40k.
I'd been aware of Arma for maybe 15 years and was curious about the military realism but had no idea it was even moddable. I love 40k, as YT knows, so the discovery was just amazing. I thought TES had a great modding community, but this is just incredible.
It's made me strongly consider both getting into Arma 3 and back into the miniatures, and there are clearly pro-level designers out there, so it's just baffling when companies like GW (or T2 when it comes to GTA) don't take advantage of such a dedicated, talented community most IPs could only dream of having.

@@WK-47Hell yeah arma 3 is modable! That’s how dayz came about with the arma2 mod. I finally got a pc powerful enough to run arma 3 this year, and was excited to play the arma 3 dayz mod as I had seen some cool videos on it.
Sadly the reality didn’t match up. Most of the servers didn’t have zombies on them because the players found them frustrating. Makes me wonder why they didn’t play a different mod, of which there is many and the game itself is pretty fun.

When I was in the Army, we had to do training in a heavily modified version of Operation Flashpoint. As far as I know, they're still using this for different training scenarios simply because it's so flexible and immersive. It's also super stressful and a great training resource for leaders.

54:28 Don't do this. That method works for getting mods installed on your PC, but you still end up having to select and add them to a mod list manually.
Instead, use the dropdown menu on the top right of the mods tab, and use the 'import' button on the bottom of that dropdown to import the complete modlist as its own saved preset, with you only having to verify fresh downloads. Can adjust the name of the preset and move around mods as need be afterwards just the same.
That said, good on ya for making this vid, Poncha. Hope you had fun with your short time riding with the Consecrators and House Terryn.

This is a tier 1 video mate well done. This is good info for so many out there, with you being honest about the issues. I wish this info was out there when i started playing arma 3. As someone who is working on a halo mod for arma, I appreciate the coverage on the dev side of things.

It's honestly criminal that this video only has 25k views. This was a fascinating watch. Hearing from the various devs is indeed a bizarre void in the discourse around mods and hearing from them makes me want to try this out, despite never playing Arma.

I've been meaning to say this, but thank you for making this video. As much as I enjoyed watching ARMA 3 40k mods, I can count on one hand RUclipsrs that actually credited the makers of the mod beside a offhand "link to the mod in the description". I'm glad to see a video that gives voice to the creators and give a Behind The Scenes look at their hard works. Props to you and the mod creators.

I own a small Arma 3 unit. We like to switch around mod-sets but they're loving Warhammer 40K mods. One of our members ended up freaking out when we fought Chaos Demons (using Drongo's Spooks, great mod BTW) and Black Legion. Got a few shrieks out of him! The Arma 3 community is has so many great people, I've made lots of friends using this broken ass military sandbox. I can't wait to see what the mod makers make next, which honestly makes the days/weeks of many people the better. Thank you to all the mod developers and fellow unit leaders for creating something unique and special for this community. Keep up the fantastic work, but don't let it hurt you!

Its nice to see somebody finally give these people the recognition they deserve! Its also nice to see someone who isnt afraid to just come out and say it as it is in relation to some of GW shady tactics. We need more people like you.

Hi Poncha! I know i'm a year late, but some friends just got me into Arma 3 and after looking for videos on 40k mods, I found yours. Armigers Vigilant seems like a very fun unit to play with, and I do hope at some point i'll be able to join y'all. Thank you for making the video, and I'm sure in good time i'll see y'all on the frontline!

The Lucius Pattern Las Gun is my model I gave to the mod team. I originally made it for 3D printing but then found the mod and asked if they were interested in any high poly gun models. They then changed it from a NURBS model to a Mesh model and then made all the LODs and textures for it. Also the guy who did all the scripting for the titans and other mechs is a literal genius.
