My mom story is that for every n64 game I got, I immediately took the cart out of the box and put everything else- all manuals, cardboard holder, even the plastic bag that the cart was in back in the box and then in a container. So I probably had 30-40 near perfect game boxes and it got thrown out when I was at college. It still hurts.
Ouch. My story (not a Mom story) is that I was given a big box of N64 manuals and cardboard from my cousin who was throwing it out. All top Nintendo first party titles. I traded it all for a few used Wii games at the game store a decade ago.
Oh I’m still bitter.. we moved a lot growing up and my mom gave away everything so as to not have to move it. From the 70s I had all the Barbies, all their clothes, the house, the dream van- it kills me now to see the values on things I know I had. Love the new rooms and love the awesome Merch! Way to go Matt!!
Mom threw/gave away the following: NES, SNES, PS1, Gameboy, and all games. Had all the heavy hitters, some boxes and manuals. Also gave away my dog when I left, a purebred miniature schnauzer. Saw him in a newspaper article about a local newspaper months later. The dog in the article had the same name and coloring and was not neutered with floppy ears (usually mini schnauzers get their ears clipped) and a long tail (also unusual, almost always docked tail) with the same name.
I really love the fact that even though its Chase's collection, its also the other guys. The fact that they get to enjoy it just as much as he does is awesome. I know its because yall are close and helped build it together, but still. Its awesome.
This is the video I've been waiting for and it did not disappoint. All the custom display systems are super cool. Props to Matt for taking the game room to the next level!
Congrats, and nice job on your collection -from an old collector. :) - Matt I've been playing video games since 1977, and collecting since 1982, starting with the ColecoVision (which still love). Most of my games and systems are "of the time". I regret not searching flea markets and garage sales, but I also like that the majority of my collection was what I originally bought. The best times I've had with the collection, besides playing them of course, was setting up the collection room and adding to it over the years. I already have most of the games that I need, and the others are priced out of my range, so I think my collecting days are behind me, and will use my time playing what I own, as well as picking up some current gen stuff. It's nice to see videos like this, and it certainly reminds me of the fun that I've had. Thanks again for that! *edited for typos*
Back in the 80's my dad would play Atari religiously. After he was done playing, he would always unhook the system and put it away in the closet. My mom was cleaning out the closet and thought it was broken since it was in there and threw it out with all the games. Still a story we tell every Christmas. Thankfully through collecting, I have been able to get my dad another Atari with all his favorite games!
We’ll, my mom never threw away my stuff. But when she was young her parents owned a grocery store and she would go in and buy packs of baseball cards, chew the gum, and throw out the cards. This was in 1952…
I had a giant city trash bag in my closet filled with hundreds of NES, SNES, Genesis, and Gameboy manuals from when my local Funcoland decided they needed drawer space. The store manager offered them all to me before throwing them in the dumpster. My grandpa saw the bag in my closet and threw it out for me.
Love the collecting mindset!! Love the collection, favorite part is Pokémon but it’s all nostalgic!! That super Mario odyssey stand for free from Walmart what a deal, great job Alyssa picking that up!! God bless Chase and Skyler and the families!!!
Congratulations! Those rooms looks great - especially love the speciality mounts that were 3D printed. Wall covering suggestion - go online and design your own wallpaper - something subtle with small logos of all the brands you have displayed - and have it professionally installed. Just an idea. Well done, fellas!
I really would like to see Dr. Mattio design and build the world's first Emulation Station!! A cockpit type with controllers combined, a motorized monitor than raises and lowers, vibration seat, and emulators for every game up to 2020. And an AI assistant that helps with play tips, strategies, and cheats for each game. Recommended games based on players choices. It would cost a fortune to design and build, but would become a Smithsonian Exhibit for certain!! I know Dr. Mattio will make enough money with his 3d printing to blow us away with a master creation!!!
My Mum didn’t actually throw them away, but let my Niece and Nephews play with them outside and let them take them home. And “they” being Mint condition, late 1960’s Matchbox cars in original boxes (200+ cars), 20+ 1960’s GI Joes including Captain America with all accessories in box plus Corgi 007, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Batman Mobile, Boat and Helicopter plus The MAN from Uncle cars x 2 each in box with 1 of each never opener. Nah I’m still not bitter after 45 years.😂😂
I used to collect all of my broken skateboard decks and put them on the wall in my room. My dad took them down and threw them away when he moved. He had no clue how irreplaceable they were.
Chase! Love the video. Funny you said the ice blue n64 is your favorite, I just picked one up at a garage sale today with an expansion pak, matching controller, and a smoke grey controller! Also got a gamecube with 5 controllers and a wavebird (plus the receiver). Got them both for a steal!
Great video Chase, love the game room! I definitely understand your story about your mom throwing away your Gameboy boxes. I received the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier (USS Flagg) for Christmas when I was a kid, it was awesome! My friends and I had so much fun playing with it. When I got older, I packed it up into the box and put it up in the attic. When I moved out, I went to collect it and take it to my new place, only to find out that my mom had donated it. I think now the USS Flagg complete in box goes for over $10,000! Yeah, that one still stings a little.
Very nice collection, love all those vintage consoles. My mom threw away or sold my PS2, XBox, Gamecube and transformer toys when I was little when she moved. It wasn't a huge collection, but it was nice and my childhood. Still hurts when seeing someone showing their nice collections.
Great episode! My mom threw away our NES, SNES boxes when we moved. And when i moved out to my first small apartment i dident bring my Goldeneye N64 box nor any of the n64 game boxes with me because of space issues. There was a leak in the basement where my room was. There was some water on the floor of my room so they had to tear that up. BUT when they packed up my room they also threw away all those boxes i mentioned + Original big size cinema poster of Lord of the rings 1 2 and 3, jackass the movie and my goosebump back to school poster. That goosebump poster ive never seen anywhere ever again. Big sad. (they were not waterdamged btw. none of it. but as they saw it who cares it was just paper.. i could cry)
I mean, dude has a ton of assets sitting in there. I’m sure he has some sort of intrusion system installed…. I don’t think I would be able to sleep in the house away from all of that stuff not knowing it is safe guarded
I have watched a lot of yours videos and all of the incredible pickups you have been able to acquire. I am surprised you have not kept a lot of those pickups for your own collection.
i collected baseball cards when i was younger. i had every topps set from 1969 - 1979, including all the traded sets. however i was a problem child and due to something i did, my punishment was watching my mom throw all my cards away, then dump water into the trash can, so i did not try rescuing them.
You guys are the best! Cracking up after mentioning selling a rookie card so you were able to propose. Literally my friends and I humor! Cracked me up. I'd do the same thing Chase. Wife is #1😁
Warms my heart to know that Mega Man sparked your collecting journey ❤ mega bros unite! 😂 Game room looks amazing btw, you have a ton of amazing pieces 💪
Had every Nintendo Power from like 2000 to the end of print. I never really read them but my dad never cancelled the sub. I kept them in plastic bins. Mom wanted them for when we moved and made me throw them out.
Which is why I sell uv protective micro top sheets that slide in flush to invisible removable recess slots for both PSA and BGS slabs. Hmu if anybody is interested. For pre-modern tc refractors, vintage cards, prewar, and jordan inserts they are also a must.
Great video glad to see it finally completed! One thing to note: do you have to worry about sun 🌞 coming in from the window? Wouldn't want the boxes to get sun faded.
WoW ...... this is Beyond GOLD & Diamond & Rare Find Due to its mint condition Very very very INSANE Collection This is almost like unable to regret Use of Magic You own it all without regrets
I got that NES Deluxe Set on the left for my birthday in 1986 I believe. The robot never worked, but Duck Hunt was fun! That is still the same console that I use to this day when I want to play my NES games.
My mother threw away a laundry basket full of designer purses including at least two Louis Vittons, a Dooney & Burke and Juicy Couture when I moved out. I told her she could "go to town" with cleaning, but I thought she'd have the good sense to keep those.
To me, need to not so much declutter but put doors on the shelving, not only does it tidy it up but it actually protects the boxes from fading and naturally damage. Put LED lighting in with a set up were it’s easy to reconnect and disconnect different consoles. But that’s me, seeing this makes my anxiety go wild.. I need it but simplified and modern.
My Parent story is them trying to cull items in the house, and getting rid of my almost complete Pokémon base set (to goodwill) - devasted and will never see it ever again.
So impressive! i would love to collect something so perfectly but i also have light OCD and get totally stressed with too many items around me so this would never be possible for me, let alone economically... but i love watching these videos :)
Hey guys i have a story about mom throwing things away. Though it wasn't games,it's in the realm I guess maybe. But the they were comics. So back story ,my aunt Chris owed a magazine and book distribution center when we were kids. We had all the coloring books and comic books as well as the music magazines like Hit Parade,Metal Magazine, and Teen Beat. So I had a collection of mostly Green Lantern because my favorite color was green. But I had about 2000 comics from 1978-1987. We moved from Indiana to New Jersey in April if 87 and mom threw them all away. Saying they were just to heavy and we needed more room in the U-Haul. It took about 2 years to even speak to mom again! I assume a few issues would be worth a little today.
I didn't see the N64 ToysRUs edition system with the neon green fantastic bundled in box in your collection. If you ever need that variant, we've got one in the retro game store I work at. Beautiful collection, a game collector's dream!
Everything looks great!! Love the Pokemon collection so far. Re: mom/grandma's throwing stuff away... my grandmother gave away all of my '80s and '90s My Little Ponies. I took good care of them as a kid, like I did with everything. But when I went to move out, I wanted to pack them, and she told me she'd given them away... some of them are now worth a lot 😢 Even without the packaging.
There’s some people in the world that don’t realise stuff like that is valuable. Whether it’s my little ponies, Pokemon, retro video games. Like some have no clue that they’re worth a lot. Some give them away or throw them away cause they think they’re worthless. I bet you were quite frustrated.
You need a Blockbuster Pokémon Snap kiosk. Kiosk collecting is a dangerous blackhole to go down (I speak from experience 😅), but considering the Pokémon Pursuit, it's a must have holy grail!
Amazing video once again, bro my all-time favorite system is SNES the edtion I got like 95/96 Xmas was it came with the super Gameboy & the magazine one day I’ll get that again
Let me know what ideas you have for us to make the game room even better! And go check out our new website!!! CatrpCrew.com
you may want to get special lights in the room to stop fading of boxes/cards
You guys have to make some custom mounts to get those loose fantastic consoles displayed properly.
LED colour change lights up the stairway and all round the rooms, so cool 😎
A rug and a good coffe table will go a long way to making the space more comfortable and inviting.
Chase after this poop in his pants

Nothing I enjoy more than seeing passionate collectors going over the story of how they’ve built up to what they have. Awesome video
Oh I’m still bitter.. we moved a lot growing up and my mom gave away everything so as to not have to move it. Finally we got a good look at the game room
You should do let’s plays. I never see game collectors do them.
Because these guys don't really play they hoard and resell while using this as a front to make more money on youtube👍
@@Primeminister7381because they spend most of their time just buying and reselling games. Not enjoying them unfortunately
So fun to see the collection displayed so well. Congratulations on all of your hard work!
omg dein Gameroom hat was! Love your Gamecube Collection!
You have just enough space above the Gamecube controllers at 13:01 for a Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Bowser shells!
Congrats, and nice job on your collection -from an old collector. :) - Matt

awesome tour dudes!! 🔥

Game room looks awesome guys! Can’t wait for my CATRP shirts and N64 game mount to get here. Thanks - KEL
...Another good post... ...You guys should think about doing a pilgrimage over to Tokyo for games-games-games! 🎮🎮🎮
I had a giant city trash bag in my closet filled with hundreds of NES, SNES, Genesis, and Gameboy manuals from when my local Funcoland decided they needed drawer space. The store manager offered them all to me before throwing them in the dumpster. My grandpa saw the bag in my closet and threw it out for me.
damn that hurts even me
Getting the slab holders back in anytime soon? That idea is awesome. I'm not even a game collector. I live vicariously through guys like you and MJR
Love the collecting mindset!! Love the collection, favorite part is Pokémon but it’s all nostalgic!! That super Mario odyssey stand for free from Walmart what a deal, great job Alyssa picking that up!! God bless Chase and Skyler and the families!!!

Great invention for displays packs cards ect ! Will get some for the office

I suggested this so your collection stays minty, not because I wanna switch the focus to emu's.
You guys should do a yard sale road trip series. That would be very cool.
btw love how the game rooms since there is a door its 2 came out
My Mum didn’t actually throw them away, but let my Niece and Nephews play with them outside and let them take them home. CIB SNES collection is really, really solid. 12 years ago was a pretty good time to get into those. Probably 5x the price jump for most of those!
Love to see it, awesome game room
Dude!!! The controller wall mounts! I will most likely be getting some.
Just a note on this video
The word Rarest is how you say most rare
That feels so wrong though 😂
Great video Chase, love the game room! I definitely understand your story about your mom throwing away your Gameboy boxes. I received the G.I. 4000 plus games have been released physically
6:44 That was gold!
Really hope your barn is fully alarmed!!!
Having both a PC and a 3D printer in a room full of cardboard and paper, is SUCH a terrible idea... the amount of heat and moisture..
You honestly don’t need a complete set of whether it’s GameCube, n64, ps2.all you need is games you will play or have nostalgia for
i collected baseball cards when i was younger. i had every topps set from 1969 - 1979, including all the traded sets. however i was a problem child and due to something i did, my punishment was watching my mom throw all my cards away, then dump water into the trash can, so i did not try rescuing them.

I'd do the same thing Chase. Wife is #1😁
Also! I'm very envious of the collection🤯🤯
Warms my heart to know that Mega Man sparked your collecting journey ❤ mega bros unite! 😂
Game room looks amazing btw, you have a ton of amazing pieces 💪
If this video was 2 hours I'd still watch every moment. More collection!
Had every Nintendo Power from like 2000 to the end of print. I never really read them but my dad never cancelled the sub. I kept them in plastic bins. Mom wanted them for when we moved and made me throw them out.
PSA slabs don't offer UV protection for the cards so I'd say careful leaving them out like that. Cool collection!
Wouldn't want the boxes to get sun faded.
great video guys! I just started up collecting pokemon cards again and started doing youtube videos of opening packs and whatever collection id get.
Replace the black shelf brackets with white ones and it will look cleaner.
Racist
That collection is fantastic, Chase! You must lose hours just staring at the walls.
WoW ...... this is Beyond GOLD & Diamond & Rare Find
Due to its mint condition
Very very very INSANE Collection
This is almost like unable to regret Use of Magic
You own it all without regrets
Fridays are even better when I get that sweet CATRP notification!
I hope Matt is getting commission for the sales on the controller mounts 👍
I never knew the metroid prime/Wind waker case variant was that expensive. I had that and sold it a long time ago.
my mom threw away 30 super nintendo boxes away when we moved one time as a kid. i cried lol
Great B roll footage of the specific game your talking about in the main video!
nice collection man!
59 commercially sold Game & Watches. Then of course variants, contest only games, recalled games, russian pirate versions and so on and so forth.
I got that NES Deluxe Set on the left for my birthday in 1986 I believe. The robot never worked, but Duck Hunt was fun! That is still the same console that I use to this day when I want to play my NES games.
Went to college in 2012. Exact same situation. Mom tossed them all. Recently been trying to get some back from you all on whatnot!
My mother threw away a laundry basket full of designer purses including at least two Louis Vittons, a Dooney & Burke and Juicy Couture when I moved out. I told her she could "go to town" with cleaning, but I thought she'd have the good sense to keep those.
Invite Ron over to see the place!!
Looks AMAZING, btw.
My parents throw all my SNES boxes including big metroid box. I feel you pal. Congratulations for this amazing collection!
does anyone happen to know what shelves those are?
or are they all displays from the game barn buy?
To me, need to not so much declutter but put doors on the shelving, not only does it tidy it up but it actually protects the boxes from fading and naturally damage.
Put LED lighting in with a set up were it’s easy to reconnect and disconnect different consoles.
But that’s me, seeing this makes my anxiety go wild.. I need it but simplified and modern.
You know you’re getting old when you’re more more jealous of the barn than the collection
It’s pretty awesome seeing a bunch of My PSA Pokémon cards on that wall that I sold you!
-Michael from MN
Absolutely! I kept a bunch of the 10s. Best Pokémon collection ever :)
Stop the cap fam you can't even afford them
Looks great! I love how clean everything looks. The controller mounts on the wall are so cool
Watching this grown man moan as he plugs an N64 click into a mount he designed was more heart warming than it should be
Been waiting a while for this one cant wait to watch this!
Totally agree with Chase about Golf Story being amazing and Sports Story being a bit disappointing. Sports story is so buggy.
5:45 that Ultimate Muscle tho!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻😭
Well done on the wall mounts!
Gamecube is my Total Fav. Very Nice Stuff. GG From Germany
Awesome and beautiful collection.
My parents threw away my power ranger toys. Ahh the memories.
The SMOKE N64 system and controller have always been my favorite
All of my crispy brand new SNES console and game boxes were tossed to the curb without my knowledge by my mother!😢
my sister had a drum head that taylor swift played on and threw it away thinking it was a tray.
Maybe the title of the video should be "buy our mounting merch"
Nice game room 👍 very clean
10:47 I got that same Mario Party 7 bundle for Christmas as a kid
I’m confused who’s collection is it? Chases or both of you guys? Seems like both were eager to share as if shared collection
Lol

I also would like too see in the collection an arcade machine that plays all retro games mario or Pokémon design!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
6 long boxes of complete runs of Spider-Man and Spectacular Spider-Man runs plus more runs.
One Nostalgic Collection
You need a Blockbuster Pokémon Snap kiosk. Kiosk collecting is a dangerous blackhole to go down (I speak from experience 😅), but considering the Pokémon Pursuit, it's a must have holy grail!
Great collection!!
I love love love the card holders....any suggestions for the HGA slab collectors? Sorry, I like the look of the labels over other grading sites. :-)
Good labels indeed! I can’t remember the exact size of the slab, but I imagine the sgc slab holder would work pretty well for them
idea for hanging full sets
create some sort of 3d print 12x slot card top loader page with a hang tab or something?
or just hang 9slot binder pages?
Amazing video once again, bro my all-time favorite system is SNES the edtion I got like 95/96 Xmas was it came with the super Gameboy & the magazine one day I’ll get that again
Incredible!!!
