I remember playing Starcraft 1 so much when I was young... I would never completely finish off my (computer) opponent, just play Protoss, get a Dark Archon, Mind Control an enemy Worker from both other races, fill out all the tech trees and roll in the satisfaction. I still have about thirty save files of just "completed" games like that.
This is two tracks, Terran 4 (added in Brood War) and then Terran 1 attached to the end for some reason. You can hear the break between the tracks at around 3:55. No idea why the uploader named this video "Terran 1."
Seskoi me getting older let me really see just how much better games like Brood War, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 and old WoW are compared to shit like Diablo 3 and current WoW.
scarabs were one of protoss's best units in terms of base destruction and I used the dark archon all the time, you can mind control one of the enemy workers and be able to get all of his tech tree
+Kemonokami All the new Blizzard games are less dark than the old games. :( Just look at Diablo 3 vs Diablo 1 and 2. It's really quite sad for horror lovers.
+zevex747 The tone was changed quite a bit, but it didn't necessarily have a negative impact. it was more a change flavor than a boiled-down homogenization like so many other big-name titles. I'm looking at you, Halo.
+TangosGetPWNED I felt like the new SC2 gave off a distinct feeling of hope mixed with the constant threat of betrayal, which was very fitting for the direction of the series (since the story line ended). You, the lone man who can stop the madness of the universe, must constantly strive for a better tomorrow that the world around you is constantly trying to crush. In sc1 and broodwar, things were just going to shit and there wasn't much anyone was going to do about it. So yah, I think both games did their "theme" really well all things considered.
When I do my homework to this music, I envision my calculus problems as petty zerglings, squashed by the battlecruiser of my pencil. Unfortunately I still get zergling rushed on exams.
Peter Van No. Its "You called down the thunder". "Now deal with it". If you want confirmation go to starcraft2units channel and watch the ghost quotes.
Those wraiths were my FAVORITE. Darkwraith has been my email for years. 109! TRANSMIT COORDINATES. COORDINATES RECEIVED. ROGER. A very good Terrain strag. is to have a fleet of them, a second option, have as many as you can accompany battlecrusiers, throw in a sci. vessel, not just for show, but :)
I think the fact why people love Starcraft 1 is because it was one of a kind RTS and it was many peoples only game. Didint need a great PC to play was dark, mysterious and the graphics make it cool. Many people just sat there as a kid all night playing Starcraft on their computer because it was the one game they had.
SCV GOOD TO GO SIR! REPORTING FOR DUTY! ORDERS CAPTAIN? I cannot believe that they put me in one of these things! I'm stuck in here tighter than a frog's butt in a watermelon SEED FIGHT!!!
I finished it a year ago lol. I was kinda disappointed with whatever the hell was going on with Kerrigan and Raynor, but I loved the main part of the story that focused on the Protoss.
Second part is the original Terran 1 track from StarCraft. First part is the new Terran music track added in the StarCraft: Brood War expansion. They tacked it onto the beginning of Terran 1 as a hacky way to get the new track into the game.
That's why I came here. I liked the themes a lot in HotS, but I never really played Starcraft, I was a Warcraft guy and thought that it would confuse me. I also liked fantasy more than Sci-Fi, so there was that too. It also is kinda funny that the "hero characters" are more of a burden to you in Starcraft, compared to Warcraft, since in every mission, they must not die.

I only played campaign editor cause I sucked at the game and I never played it for gameplay (I'm one of THOSE people) and whenever I did play Starcraft I'd always play as the Zerg because of how cool they looked (i never cared about advantages and disadvantages, I only cared about looks for the time) but now I've gotten better at the game and I can say that I am more comfortable as Terran rather than Zerg or Protoss. why did I tell you this? idk. why are you reading tho??? xd send help don't really l o l sad face.

Hello everyone. I just want to see if I can get any advice on this issue I am having with playing Starcraft. I currently own a computer at my house that runs on Windows 98 software (I know I have a very old computer, but it works very well. I have a second computer that runs on Windows 7,but that is not my main gaming computer I use). I recently bought Starcraft, the original version from1998 on Ebay and I succesfully installed it onto my computer that is running Windows 98. However, I started experiencing a problem when playing the game last night in which the game will unexpectedly crash on me while I am watching a cutscene for the game. Just so everyone knows, the game has NOT been crashing when during actual gameplay, but only during certain cutscenes throughout the game. When the game will crash, I will recieve an error message that states that some of my files are corrupted and the disc is not being read properly by the computer. I do not understand this error message, since if the game was not being read by my PC, then I probably would have not been able to install it on the PC's hard drive. I will then have to reset the game and go back into it in which the error message would not appear. So far, I have only recieved the message twice, but if anyone can give me a suggestion on why this happening and help me prevent it from happening it again, much would be appreciated. And by the way, so far I have been enjoying Starcraft so much. I can now see why the game defined the RTS genre and has become a model for other later strategy games released. Thank you for your consideration Bayard Carmiencke
I think the anthology pack fixed that issue, although you're gonna need to upgrade to windows 2000 enable to run that version. Or just get the battle chest version. The Brood war expansion patches the game to the latest version if you have connected to battle net first.
tyelor mcmunnYou can run Starcraft on windows 7. Open up a notepad and type in the following things. If you have 32 bit: taskkill /F /IM explorer.exestart /wait C:/"Program Files"/"StarCraft"/"StarCraft.exe"start explorer.exeIf you have 64 bit:taskkill /F /IM explorer.exestart /wait C:/"Program Files (x86)"/"StarCraft"/"StarCraft.exe"start explorer.exeThen, save the document as a .bat and change the file type to all files. Then run it. This should open up starcraft and have it run just fine on windows 7.

Great game all have great soundtracks... Just like movies... It's all about the atmosphere baby!
I gotta say the most memorable thing to me in Starcraft, were the awesome guitars in Terran 1 and Terran 3. I love that bass drum that starts in 6:17
4:29 combined with the sound of the siege tank's pressurized pumps made me shit my pants every goddamn time!
Or the sounds of Battlecruiser lasers, slaughtering dozens of Hydras.
"Something on your mind? Oh is that it?"

Both sc1 and sc2 are awesome games!
I wish Blizzard gave SC2 more of the sort of dark future vibe that the first one had. It's still a good game, though.
+Kemonokami All the new Blizzard games are less dark than the old games. :( Just look at Diablo 3 vs Diablo 1 and 2. It's really quite sad for horror lovers.

Ethan Smith It was in Broodwar theres a clip on youtube, fuck starcraft 2
Ethan Smith That's a mistake, it IS "Now reap the whirlwind"
I stand corrected I thought I was right. Thanks for the correction.
It doesn't matter which race you like the best, terran undoubtedly has the best music

Listening to this while downloading Legacy of the Void. It is only fitting to conclude the Starcraft saga with the best music from the first game.

why is this theme longer than the ones that suntzu1983 posted?

tyelor mcmunnYou can run Starcraft on windows 7. Yes, but I'm guessing the machine that is running on Windows 7 is faster. Not that it matters a whole lot with this game...
