I thought the film was exactly how it needed to be as it was only a short chapter in the book...the End of the film (the very last scenes on the water) is where the film should have ended, and it would have been perfect for the Book. The way they did it though seems to be for a sequel with a huge divergence from the source material... making the whole thing more interesting, and not a bad thing. Thoroughly enjoyed the film. Oh and it finally showed Dracula as the monster the novel portrayed... Something to think about.
Its a solid horror movie; its not great but a good watch. The concept is interesting enough but also hinders it a bit cause its like Alien with all the claustophibic atmosphere of the ship.
As a big fan of stokers dracula book and movie , I was excited about this telling of the captains log chapter ! I was also glad to know you knew what this was about , as many other reviews I have watched , really don’t know anything about what this was suppose to be about ! I even heard a guy say I wanna know what happened to dracula at the end , lol smh , If you know stokers book , he would know that the boat arrives in London with all hands lost and the cargo missing ! So I appreciated your review !
I love when they say it could be a 1/2 hr shorter ok director! he was hiding hello he can't be in the whole movie the whole time or it would be over in a half hour. There were only so many kills to could be. Did you hope another ship came along? so sick of people trashing a filmed, it did what it needed to and the 3rd act suffered from the amount of kills there where. So watch again and pay attention knowing that we was hiding and expecting to feed on the girl which was genius when she fell out of that box
Movies being that long can sometimes be a drag and a chore to get through, I sometimes get frustrated when it drags and it could've made me fall asleep.
Why didn't;t the Cross work?!! I thought that when someone had no fear of Dracula and used the cross, Dracula would back away?.. I think the Director missed that important point. What was the point of using the cross?!!.. It wasn't a bad film at all, I just think a few important elements was left out. But well made film,. Congrats film crew and Director.
This was def a 6/10. Above average but I wouldn’t lost sleep If I never saw it again. Costume design creature design filming was all great. But man it got boring after an hour in, I also didn’t like dude going out his way to help snowflakes, and I didn’t like that sequel bait at the end at all.
