Still waiting for this kit to get to me.... Ordered it 3 months ago. All well. Look forward to it. Got the Molten Blue Steel one. This is a good drummer. Even with the stock heads its sounds pretty good.

I finally got the version of the kit you see in this vid (in Molten Blue Steel color) but am still waiting for an 8" and 18" floor toms and some tom mounts as I have rack system. I actually have not had time to set it up yet!!! As soon as I do, I may post a vid and let you know. I am going to be using Remo Emperors on them so the sound I hope will be a bit warmer and deeper.
This is def a pro-level kit but tweaked to make it more affordable. I want a Starclassic Maple but I might start out with this model as a home and casual gigging kit. I just wish they kept the 10-lug kick drum design as opposed to using the 8, but I figured 10 would make it more expensive.
I cant decide if i love that snare sound or hate it... Its so open and natural.. Sound like im in the room... But its a recording so my brain expects it to be tight and compressed... But its not... That kick though! Now i want a 24!
This guy has probably be playing since he was bog enough to reach pedals…it’s refreshing to see an actual trained drummer…everything is correct about this video!
Still using a tama rockstar from 2004 for recording and you can make it sound however you want. Diff tama snare. I swap between that and a slingerland depending song.. love the kick drum on tama tho. Deep floor Tom. Tuned for anything. Great for what was a semi cheap set back then. And no I dont record metal. Tama can be synonymous for metal. But I use it for alternative, pop, experimental, tame impala type stuff.
Ok... someone commented on the Starclassics and Bezances, and yeah they are the meat and potatoes of this recording!! BUTTTTTT, without those 421's, 81's and that 112.... it's all just uncaptured noise, to the heavens so to speak!!! Of course the console and recording media remains unknown, I'm gambling.... hmmm 🤔.... Trident maybe, Studer perhaps.... oh, yeah the outboard gear in the production desk too!!! ANYWAY, KEEP ON KEEPING ON BROTHER ROCKER!!!!! PEACE 🤘🏼!!!!!
What wood/woods is this kit made out of, Tama? It is one of the most beautiful kits I've ever seen... really shows what great artisans can do with the natural look of wood grain. 👍
