When you set the valve in this setup to all open to the chiller is the chlorinator still getting water and chlorinating the pool? I have this unit and wonder about my setup.
Yes we are. The flow pressure increases slightly in the system, but volume passing through the chlorinator should remain the same. It's simply passing through the chiller unit on its way to pool return.

How loud is that thing when running?
The heater/chillers (heat pumps) are about the same volume as an air conditioner
What brand?
This brand is an Aqua cal which we have found strong performance and longevity with.
