Finally a video of the new crf450r that isn't having it trashbagged in the comments. It truly is an amazing leap on the part of Honda. Honda has worked hard to make it the most rider-friendly 450 yet, and they have succeeded.
The dude forgot to mention one of the biggest changes to the engine on the 2013 450r, It comes with a 6 spring clutch now!!!! I have a 2011 model, which has the single spring, done one race meet with it and that was the second thing I changed after getting the suspension tuned lol the single spring clutches where shite! So glad they have brought out a 6 spring standard now
it puts the weight towards the center because they are shorter. and instead of all of the exhaust going to one pipe, it goes through two so it is quieter
I could be wrong but I believe aftermarket exhaust stays with one muffler. Just watch lites videos from when the 250f bikes had duel exhaust. I'm not sure though.
Ive been a kawasaki boy since 65's ( on a 250f now )but after seeing stewart hop on a bike and win in 2 weeks i gotta think that bike is easy to ride and tune. Lets see the 2013 suzuki 450!!!!!!
so tracks dont get shut down. theres been so many on the east coast closing for various reasons including noise. but i agree i like a good sounding bike
I've always been amazed at 'innovations' in dirtbikes and mountain bikes. You guys really need to work with one another. Mtb's have been running air forks for ages, yet it's new to dirtbikes. And mtb's have this 'new' technology of upside down forks. It just makes my head hurt!
I totally get the weight difference etc. I've just always been confused how it's taken so long for the various parts to be implemented when they've been proven to work so well on either platform. And I was saying with the comment about the upside down forks that it's been like 20 odd years since they became a mainstream thing on dirtbikes yet it's only been the last few years they've been introduced in mtbs. Not complaining, it just confuses me.
they have to meet the sound requirements for racing. and putting an aftermarket muffler doesnt really make mx bikes that much louder. theres no restrictions in the oem or the aftermarket. take them apart and the design is nearly identical. and the hp doesnt increase like at all unless you swap out the header too. but cosmeticaly it would look pretty sweet
Honda had problems last time they tried a dual exhaust motocross package. After a while they wouldn't start worth a shit, and they were extremely difficult at times to start after they were hot. I read up about, and warned a friend not to get his dual exhaust 2008. He didn't listen. I was right. My 2004 was still starting fine, while his 4 year newer bike would not restart after stalling or laying over. Maybe they have it worked out this time.
There is literally no point in 2 mufflers, when there is only 1 exhaust head. Now, you just have to spend a thousand dollars more to buy your aftermarket exhausts. Thanks Honda!
I've ridden both. Prefer 4 strokes, and it is pretty obvious that I was implying that the last dual exhaust model was hard to start compared to MY 4 YEAR OLDER MODEL 4 STROKE. Reading comprehension... it's cool.
i like all these new things like the front forks and the rear exhaust, but what pro rider is gunna be riding a stock factory bike lol. i mean they will probably have different front forks and most likely have a single pipe unless more companies start making dual pipes to fit this bike.
Looks like the new 2013 450R is a lighter frame with new dual pipes ,and from the testers overall stronger engine bottom end & top end watch out 2013 Kawasaki 450R which would be the runner up to the new Honda in my opinion
Might be something to do with riding getting banned everywhere because of noise, tracks setting low noise limits and such... But if you don't want to be able to ride in the future then you go buy the loudest exhaust you can find and spoil it for everybody else
i have no idea what you are trying to say.. i just thought it would be cool for a small bore to have an aluminum frame... oh and i dnt ride a 150 etheir they are junk like you said
He'd be as fast as he would be on a Kawasaki or Honda. Just that Yamaha was made for taller/bigger people like Milsaps, so James wasn't comfortable with it, how it works.
I bought a CRF450r today and I freaking love it.! It has so much power.!

Best dort bike i ever seen in my life hands down!!!!!
love the white into the shrouds. looks really nice!
why are ppl hating this thing is 100% badass and dual exhausts are kickass
Glad they're bringing dual's back, i liked the '06 model with the dual's
it puts the weight towards the center because they are shorter. and instead of all of the exhaust going to one pipe, it goes through two so it is quieter
honda for life...
probably for the pros and the GP races since they have a sound limit. it looks so sweet!!!!!
this bike is so nice, i love the new plastics
making two of them is dividing the can itself basicaly by two but you still have the extra piping for the second muffler adding weight
the new forks seems pretty sick!
esta de 10 la moto, como siempre la mejor marca HONDA, solo espero que salga un test, en español para entender todo lo que fue cambiado. a mejor
power of a honda doesnt get any better that
i ordered one today cant wait till there out
I could be wrong but I believe aftermarket exhaust stays with one muffler. Just watch lites videos from when the 250f bikes had duel exhaust. I'm not sure though.
What if you want an aftermark exhaust?
Don't get me wrong, I love the dual exhaust system, looks mean and you have a lot more balance! :)
Its something to get used to. Change is sometimes good. I dont know why people are hating on it so much....
Ive been a kawasaki boy since 65's ( on a 250f now )but after seeing stewart hop on a bike and win in 2 weeks i gotta think that bike is easy to ride and tune. Lets see the 2013 suzuki 450!!!!!!
Can't wait to see Reed on this monster!
Looks sick!
Because the tubes are curved and it needs some equalization?
Does this mean the 2013 CRF-450x will have a dual exhaust system?
Can someone please explain how adding dual mufflers takes weight off the back and reduces sound? Dead serious question...
Yall were hyping about saving 2lbs in the front when yall still use dual exhaust which adds about 7 lbs overall?
The clutch is now a 6 spring clutch. They did improve it. Read MXA's article, it's detailed much better.
hows going from one muffler to 2 save weight -____________-
2021 back to one muffler 😂👊🏻
why is there no videos of the crf250 2013?
5:24, is that launch control? like on the kawi's
yea same question here...like WTF!! i really want to see the 250 and there are no videos of it yet.
Parabéns HONDA e crf450r linda
so tracks dont get shut down. theres been so many on the east coast closing for various reasons including noise. but i agree i like a good sounding bike
Why are the mufflers different sizes?
Wonder if Chad Reeds bike will be duel muffler? Or will he take that off and throw it in the corner and put a single muffler?
I'm 5'8 175 ish I have an 07 and it is a Legit perfect fit
I think 2 strokes were outlawed like 3 or 4 years ago by the epa
Glad they're keeping the price the same.
less weight by adding another muffler? How did they do that???
so your saying that more muffleres add weight
does it come in MEAN GREEN?
yea it would

Yamaha's YZ450F front fender, Suzuki's RMZ450 front fender, and Honda's CRF450R front fender are all starting to look vary similar.

Why do people hate the duals so much? I think they look badass.
funny thing is that ktms have had hydraulic clutchs since the early 2000s and all the other brands (such as honda) still havent caught on
they have to meet the sound requirements for racing. and putting an aftermarket muffler doesnt really make mx bikes that much louder. theres no restrictions in the oem or the aftermarket. take them apart and the design is nearly identical. and the hp doesnt increase like at all unless you swap out the header too. but cosmeticaly it would look pretty sweet
kawi still makes 85cc?
Didn't see that the first time but thats what it looks like.
Ok. So where are the 2 strokes?
The bike's duals are lighter, more balanced and produce greater airflow. It does matter. Plus the new suspension is dope.
i love honda!
if so many people hate this bike why is there no dislikes?
yep.
anyone have any details on the crf250r 2013?
yes
for sure i currently way 2 pounds im 12'2 and it fits me perfect
Yes, yes you are.
aluminum frame 150 is a must
Is it just me or do the mufflers feel like they aren't the same size?
I need one of this
GO HONDA!!!!!!!!!!
IIII remember when i was 5 and thought it was cool to have 2 mufflers to!
Honda had problems last time they tried a dual exhaust motocross package. After a while they wouldn't start worth a shit, and they were extremely difficult at times to start after they were hot.

I really love the double exhaust, but that means more weight and maintenance... :(
WE WANT LOUD BIKES!! :)
Honda!!!
One day you'll be like Yamaha.
i like all these new things like the front forks and the rear exhaust, but what pro rider is gunna be riding a stock factory bike lol. i mean they will probably have different front forks and most likely have a single pipe unless more companies start making dual pipes to fit this bike.
that bike just made me sell both my 2012 yz250f and my 2012 rmz450f
My point exactly.
buying 2 slip-ons is gonna be a bitch but other than that it is absolutely beautiful
I want one, Gime gime gime!
They're half the size, so they're closer to the center of the bike. Their weight isn't on the back, like on long thick ass muffler.
Looks like the new 2013 450R is a lighter frame with new dual pipes ,and from the testers overall stronger engine bottom end & top end watch out 2013 Kawasaki 450R which would be the runner up to the new Honda in my opinion
Dammn its difficult to get acostumed to the colors play
Might be something to do with riding getting banned everywhere because of noise, tracks setting low noise limits and such...
But if you don't want to be able to ride in the future then you go buy the loudest exhaust you can find and spoil it for everybody else
Theres more to it than just the silencer.
That's what i'm saying! Honda needs to get back on the 2 strokes!
Say what you will about performance but you can beat the hell out of a honda and that damn thing just keeps going
Nice motor
still no hydrolic clutch? wtf
u guys should have upgraded to black excel rims
Thats because the previous years didnt have a dual muffler to begin with
Theres more to it than just the number of mufflers.
150Rs get pulled by KTM 65SXs all day. That is not a baby CRF, its more like a water-cooled XR and I won't be surprised when Honda junks it.
ermergerd explosions in the sky
the funny thing is that all the teams use aftermarket systems, with only one pipe. ahaha
You know what would look good in there????
A CR500 Motor
thumbs up if you expected a better sound!!
the price staying the same is good but would have been even better to of been lowered
dammit, now i gotta find MAFIAxHITTMAN's comment..
it's to balance the weight i believe, kinda clever.
no hydrolic clutch damn
is anyone raceing this bike
i have no idea what you are trying to say.. i just thought it would be cool for a small bore to have an aluminum frame... oh and i dnt ride a 150 etheir they are junk like you said
