    Hi Alex. Until now I have still been putting off replacing the seal in the roof hydraulic cylinder on my SLK but now the seal has gone completely so have to do the work. Anyway I have been looking at this and I wonder if after removing the roof lining, the roof could be closed before removing the hydraulic cylinder? All the mounting bolts are accusable and fluid pressure can be release via the pump in the boot. Also have you ever thought about drilling or using a dermal on the inside of the hydraulic cylinder’s aluminium case just above the split ring instead of drilling through from behind it. Lastly at the end of the video it looks like you are having problems with the roof when trying the hydraulics? Did you have a problem? Was it the sequencing with the micro switches. Thanks again for the video

    • @corvette724
      @corvette724  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Grumpy, after some seconds the Pump open the Valves and the System is pressure free. That`s the case, why you should secure the roof with an appropiate carton box or cushion. I learned, to push the plastic seal under the ring towards inside, because the ring grooves in. This makes it easier to unclip the ring. What u see in the last sequence is the maintenance position. Pull the piston rod only outside the car, else the hydraulic fluid rest will flush the floor. Cheers, Axel

    • @corvette724

      Hi, thx for your kind Feedback. You can't disconnect the hoses at the cylinder. U need to disconnect at the pump. This makes a lot of work, more. Cheers, Axel.
