One of Ralph's most evocative and beautiful compositions, I am SO glad I discovered Ralph's music as he has enriched my life in many ways , whenever I feel depressed , songs like this make me feel its worth living.
very profound, absolutely mystical and unique, you think you are in the midst of untouched nature, intimate calm and exciting peace, the transience because our life on earth is finite, full of love and emotions, touching the heart and more than perfect, it says a great master of his skills with a lot of wisdom and knowledge behind it... really many thanks and compliments for this great work dear Ralph... it awakens very great feelings in me... 🦋
Gorgeous piece! One should recall that Ralph is also a fine jazz pianist. First saw him live with the Paul Winter Consort around the late Sixties. Last time was in Padova, Italia Several performances with Oregon in beautiful Italian recital halls. I love playing his solo versions of jazz tunes on classical guitar. And songs like Beneath An Evening Sky!
I saw Ralph up in Burlington, Vermont around '79 or '80. John Abercrombie was with him. They played this song and it was stunning. Enchanting. From what I remember, Ralph used something like a matchbook cover laced through the strings to create a dampening effect as he plucked the chords. I went right out and bought the album----"Ol friends, New friends." Thanks for this.

What can you say about this. I just love this piece. It brings me right back to a great time around 94. Stunning.
Beautiful!
A song of incomparable love......

Such an immense musical talent. Check out the album Solo Concert if you haven't already.
It was the first time I heard Ralph when he played an amazing introduction to The Moors. To this day I am fascinated by his play.
Aisha Duo did a cover of this! Their songs are great, but this still bops as much as the cover
Very relaxing! Thanks for uploading. I'll have to add this to a study playlist.
