  • Jerry Stackhouse hits his first jumpers to open up the game and end up with 24 points for the quarter. At that point it was only a matter of him trying enough (and Mateen Cleaves looking for him enough) to reach 57, a Detroit Pistons record. Stackhouse simply wasn't going to miss a whole lot this particular night. It was the standout game of his 29.8 points per game 2000-01 season. April 3, 2001.

Man, he was just pulling up jump shot after jump shot like he didn't care... That night it went in, so well played; but he had some horrendous nights that season

I've heard this consideration several times, always by Stack himself

It is an absolute joke that Stack finished 14th in MVP voting that year. He scored 29.8 ppg!

Stackhouse received some criticism during this season for openly wanting to win the scoring title. He was second to Iverson for the 2000-2001 scoring title.

When your teammate is playing like that you have to keep feeding that player like they did. “If it’s not broke don’t fix it” #Legend 🏀🐐

Fans in Detroit like to brag that he lit Artest up in this game. But reality Tim Floyd wasn’t smart to even try that matchup.

+Kalum Waterfall yeaaaa he was a ball hog so he had 57 points but if you really watched this guy play, he played hero ball all the time, was a huge ball hog, shot bad shots

He was a good player but it didn't go well with the teamwork principle on the Pistons. The Pistons were right trading him for Rip Hamilton
