I don't like that when using both swords, their damage is reduced by 40%, which causes the total damage to increase by only 20% compared to using this weapon with one hand. The total damage is also far from the highest.

the frost honestly wouldn't make that much a difference, Dark Souls enemies in general were wayyyy more tankier to status effects. Bleed in ds1 and ds2 were practically useless unless you base your entire build around it and even then there were better options

Probably against the straight sword and spear variants it would be definitive. But against the powerstancing colossal swords variant I doubt it would change anything. All that knight needs to do is just hit that Banished Knight once (even the Castle Sol variant) and he'll stance break him. And seeing that he doesn't even poise break, despite how many times that Banished Knight hits him, none of his wind ups will be interrupted either. The problem here all these other commenters seem to missing is the stance breaking mechanic that only ER knights are vulnerable to. Make DS susceptible to it too or remove it all together and you won't even need the ghostly teleporting Castle Sol variants. The Banished Knights would win 9/1.

I think these characters were the wrong choice... The Elden Ring faction should have chosen the Castle Sol Magic and Acrobatic Troupe. They are the first, second, and third masters of Sol Castle, respectively. Their weapons and abilities include red-eye teleportation dual swords, red-eye teleportation long spear, and red-eye teleportation sword shield. They have the strongest stats.
Enemies in ds3 don’t have a stance break state. It only applies to certain bosses like Demon Prince or Nameless King. Certain bosses can be opened up for a riposte if you hit them on the head enough times, though, like Dancer, Yhorm, or Oceiros.

Those ringed knights are built different,they also have the most bad ass looking armor out of all the knights in all of fromsoft games next to black knights from dark souls and crucible Knights from elden ring
Rings knights are one of my favourite enemies in all of the DS series. That being said, without the dual colossal sword ringed knight, the banished knights have a little more stopping power.
The shield banished knight seems to be having an issue when using the shield to cover himself, they still hit him regardless, I think using the teleporting red eyes banished knight would be a better fit since they are the strongest and more skilled banished knights tho

The most interesting thing is that when Gael killed everyone in Ringed City, the only knight from Ringed City left was the one who used 2 colossal swords.
Amongst its myriad motions to nostalgia I really appreciate FromSoft’s obvious desire to play around with its generic knight. Both the Ring and Banished Knights are obviously especially dear successors to Gwyn’s Black Knights. They’re both dynamic, hard hitting, and not waiting around for the player to figure out their moveset. Love when something that could be lazily done is done with some intent.
We need to see Iudux/Champion Gundyr Vs the Asylum Demon(s) (Ds3 Vs Ds1) Both need to be defeated before you can level up, both hate Black Firebombs, and both guard similarly sized doors.
The way I see it, they are a fairly good match for eachother. Ringed knights have the clear weapons advantage with two of the knights wielding a shield and the other with dual colossal swords, whereas the banished knights have the skill advantage showed by the way they use their powers and skills together. The dual greatsword variant with those wacky spinning moves along with the use of fire on top of wind moves for the halberd variant.
I just snuck past dual wield ring knight first try, i didn't even try to take his weapons. Bro is just Kratos but with larger bigger blades, my little lothric toothpick longsword dex build wasn't going to hurt him.

Right away I see an issue where the spear ringed knight's poise buff from the shield does not work as it does in DS3 I am genuinely curious about the difficulty of managing the poise values of imported assets since it is a big deciding factor in these match ups

It was very good, I hope you can see more fights of this type, you could bring the knights of lothric vs halltree knights or, the pontiff knights vs ancient hero of zamor, the knights of the cathedral vs crucible knights. (Note: For some reason the Knights of Lothric and the Cathedral's who use Greatsword hate you and will want to follow you to the end of the world, but their weapon is very good)
The knights in the first legacy dungeon of Elden Ring are on par with the knights at the end of the last DLC of Dark Souls III. Just imagine the knights in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

I don't care what people say, it will always be unfair to boost the health of enemies that can almost never stagger just so they can have the same amount of health against enemies that stagger easier than them.
You don’t see the issue there? Due to Elden rings horrendous scaling one end game elite enemy could 2 shot an elite enemy from any former game if they didn’t buff the health. That would completely defeat the point of the fight in the first place. You also make it sound like they can’t just adjust the poise for Elden ring enemies.

The fully upgraded version of the ringed knight paired greatswords can kill phase 1 Soul of Cinder in two combos.

Ringed Knight armor is the best armor in all of souls just next to ornsteins armor. When paired with soul of cinders helm, drippy from all sides

Everyone out in the comments about the greatswords Ringed Knight, but god DAMN if the sword and board Banished Knight wasn’t absolutely terrifying against the sword and buckler Ringed Knight.
If you pay attention during the team deathmatch, sword + board Banished Knight is even holding his own against the twin greatswords Ringed Knight

I miss the sword and spear hope they bring back some form of it in the dlc
I don't care what people say, it will always be unfair to boost the health of enemies that can almost never stagger just so they can have the same amount of health against enemies that stagger easier than them.
Yea ds3 enemies and bosses can’t get stance broken, that’s a big enough advantage already so why boost their health by like double?

You don’t see the issue there? Due to Elden rings horrendous scaling one end game elite enemy could 2 shot an elite enemy from any former game if they didn’t buff the health. That would completely defeat the point of the fight in the first place. You also make it sound like they can’t just adjust the poise for Elden ring enemies.
Ringed knights do not have poise, so it is justified
@@capitalism7189Scaling? wat are u on about? 2 shot? Ringed knight dual ultra has 3200 health, other 2 has 2k banished knights have 3500 how on earth are the ringed knights gonna get 2 shotted? Also did u missed what I said? The fact that ringed knights barely staggered should have been enough reason to not buff their health bar in the first place.
I forget, how resistant are the Ringed Knighted to frostbite? maybe the Castle Sol variants of the Banished Knights would have a better chance?
