Wonderful tutorial sir. But if the spectator requests to check the book he will see the coin. Any solution for this?

Hi! Thanks for watching my video. In mentalism, presentation plays a very important role. If it is performed like a magic trick or in between other magic tricks, then the spectators would believe this to be another magic trick and would like to inspect the book. However, if the book is used only as a tool to take a mental picture of a word and no special attention is paid to it, then it is highly unlikely that the spectators would want to inspect the book. Why should one inspect a book? But if you are still afraid, then after the spectator has noted the word, hold the book horizontally in front of you with the binding edge pointing towards the spectators. One hand should be at the bottom edge of the book and casually flip thru the pages as you say that "there are thousands of words in the book and you have selected any one". As you say so, flip the pages and as you reach the page where the coin is, open the pages wider. This would cause the coin to drop to your waiting hand which you palm. You are now completely clean.

A decent idea but I could see the giant gap in the book just laying on the table. And sure enough you stopped right at the gap. Not fooling in the least bit. Maybe if you put a giant rubber band around the book to keep it closed and disguise the gap. But then what normal person keeps a rubber band around their book?

First of all I would thank you for the visit and your thoughtful comment. Yes, you are right. It's my mistake. The book's binding edge should be facing the audience. Then the gap could not be seen. When it is picked up from the table, the fingers should press hard to that the gap is not seen. During the force, the book should be turned a little away from the spectators.
