- Walk through of the install of a 2” spacer lift system for the 1st gen sportage. The rear install is very easy and can be done in 15-20 min if not replacing the shocks. The front is more difficult but if you take your time and think it through it is worth it in the end. Thank you for watching and don’t hesitate to ask a question.

The only thing I did different in my install was to put the rear spacer above the spring. The “nubs” that the spring centers on are steel originally, and now one will be replaced by urethane. The top perch never moves, but the bottom does especially during articulation. I placed mine on top as a choice to reduce wear on the spacer as well as to reduce the chance that the spring could tear the urethane “nub” off and pop out. You can see it on my Micro-Pig video covering this lift.
I’m a Toyota guy, but it sure is nice to see the body on frame KIAs get some love.
Appreciate the wisdoms friend 🙏🏻 about to do the same kit in my Sporty
Do you have a video on the rock guards I see sticking out? Thanks for this video.
Before and After side pose with ground clearance should have been showed in the video.
You must trust the guy with the hammer😂👍🇺🇸

I am having one heck of a time with the springs! everything is so tight in there, i cant really get my compressors on them. After fighting it, i got the driver side out. but now the real struggle is getting them back in! what tips to do have for getting the springs back in?
Hello, I found the adaptation very interesting, I would like to know more details about it, if possible, I would like to replicate it in mine too.
Have a 1996 Kia 4x4. Needs a new entire exhaust system. What’s your thoughts about welded diff??
Welded rear with a limited slip front would be awesome
Saw one of these pop up in my area with a manual, is it worth getting? It’s an 02 with 130k miles. How hard/easy is it to find parts and any thing to look out for. Might try and take a look this weekend. Love your videos btw, really cool to see this little suv
The manuals are definitely better. They are great suvs. Having a non interference engine takes away some of the stress related with other higher mileage vehicles and rushing to get the timing belt done. For the most part getting a parts is not bad at all although aftermarket support is lacking and requires some out of the box thinking or fabrication.
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I want to lift my Sportage, Can you tell me the thickness of the front and rear spacers? 30 mm in both ?
Thay make a shock bolt ext. It comes from russia. But it will beat replaceing the shocks
Where can i found thoose ?
How is the motor on these, 2001 still the mazda motor? How much after 200K do you think they can go?
Still a Mazda fe3. They are stout little motors and non-interference so keep up with routine maintenance and they should be good.
Excelent!
I just bought one , a 1999 2wd 5 speed and I like it so far. It's not fast or anything but it's tons of fun and peppy enough for highways :3
But
A couple days ago my tire rack won't disengage when I pull the lever
Is there a way to disengage it manually ? Badly need the trunk but no one is wanting to help me out
Super new to this. Hope you can help
Love your video btw ^-^
Thank you, you should be able to trace the cable down to the latches the bottom and be able to push the release mechanism with a long screwdriver or similar
Do you think if you got two of these kits & double stack thim to make a 4 inch lift think it would work??

So i bought the lift kit, now i need new shocks to install them? Did i understand you right?
They will work with stock front struts and rear shocks. The stock rear shocks will just be maxed out.

@@jecustoms52 thanks
Can u provide links for the parts?
The lift kit is on eBay, I can provide a link but I am not sure how long it would be active, it shows up with an easy eBay search of sportage lift kit and make sure you get an appropriate year. The shocks were purchased from summit racing with the part number provided in the video.
where is the kit from ???
eBay is the only place I have seen then recently. Upyourkia.com used to sell a nice kit.
