If you want to see or play a map with a “strong” Venice, try Victoria 2 Divergences of Darkness. Venice starts with Greece, Cyprus, Florida, part of west Africa, and Venice/Istria itself.
0:14 The difference between woods and forests varies depending on the context, but in general it can refer to two different differences. First, is size, with woods covering a small area and forests a large one. This is probably not the definition being used here. I'd guess that EU4 is using the second distinction, that of tree density and canopy cover. Basically, forests will have more trees per unit area and a thicker canopy than woods.

Would it be possible to do a game of this that removes the effects of disease and plague? The main reason colonization of the new world was as easy as to was, was because of plague wiping out like 90% of the natives, so it’d be interesting to see a game in which the natives are wiped out by plague, and then see how easy colonization becomes for the Europeans.
I'm really surprised Britain PU over Sweden doesn't happen more often, becuase Denmark usually starts as rivals with England it usually means England helps Sweden get independence and therefor very much likely gets a Royal marriage as soon as they break free.

Sorry Drew, but Switzerland doesn’t have any ideas that boost combat in mountains. They have upgrades to infantry combat, discipline, and cheaper forts. They won, fair and square.

You should do a Swiss mountain Empire, where Switzerland controls all mountain territories (on a normal map of course).
Cool idea
Nepal would do well with that too as they own 8 of the top 10 tallest mountains
