Characters depicted in my videos are taken out of their original source context to tell new stories that reference either their source material or/and other media. These characters are given new names, are called 'actors' and are the mouth pieces for my anthology based series: Boundary Bridge.

The "I'm getting older" combo didn't hit me until the fucking IPod finisher.
I know what that is cuz I used to live in a village and technology there was a bit behind everyone else
Jokes on you I still use an iPod touch as a primary device
Dude me too...I used to have a damn MP3 player...and a Zune lmao...
Hearing that made me feel old, knowing that I still used one into the 2020s.
As a Gen-zer I can proudly say I still got to experience the heart attack of booting up a ps2 as a kid
Same, i grew up with the N64 and im so glad i did
Same
Good
I miss my ps2 so bad
How to make a man in his late 20s feel like hes in his late 60s in a minute or less. 😂😂😂
The first time I ever felt "old" was when one of my Halo Reach buddies (who was seven years younger than me) said he never played Goldeneye on the N64. This was back in 2011.
jokes on you, born in 07 and only had an ipod until 2020
cause you lived with old people

I still remember my first gaming console… takes me back..
The best console era when most of us still young and many game to play with
there's more games to play now. people just dont know to have fun as much anymore. societal issue.
The games were more complete then, less predatory, more classics were made. I mean honestly, what game in the past 10 years is gonna be recalled for being a genre starter/definer that was leaps and bounds ahead of its time? We hardly get new IP's outside of the Indie scene, shit is always broken on launch. Remember cheat codes and how they were in so many games? Remember when you'd sit on the main menu and have a special trailer pop up?
Yeah we've got more games, but it's more trash and filler with very few gems.
@@alastor8091 pretty much Breath of the Wild and that's it
@@moonbasemonk what did BotW do? I'm not a Zelda guy and I refuse to give Nintendo a dime.
@@alastor8091 open world/open ended gameplay. Spawned a lot of clones, and inspired Genshin Impact.
I was born in 04, when you grow up with brothers born in the 1990’s, you get to know a lot about what life was like before you were born. Glad I’m not an only child
As a millennial, the 'most of gen-z isn't even old enough to have seen a gamecube lying around' comment made my jaw drop. The fact that 'almost no one watching this video even knows what an Ipod is' had me on the floor 😭💀
I'm a millennial & I was still too young to see n64s lying around just shy of a few years
My uncle was into buying shitloads of tech as soon as it dropped so I knew what an OG IPod was, I also won a Shuffle in elementary school.
You sure are pretty dramatic for a millenial...
I seen a N64 even played on one at a friend house only old old old systems I had was game boy and Sega genesis then my dad said to sell it I only got 10 bucks for it the sega genesis worst mistake I made. then I got the GameCube
Dinosaur here having an Atari and a Super Nintendo as first consoles.
Man, all of those consoles bring back childhood memories, and nice seeing so many anime crossed over such as Idolmaster, Kaguya Sama, No Game No Life, The World God Only Knows, New Game, and D4DJ, and it goes super perfectly well together!😄🤩😎👌
I dunno, I'm thirty and I don't feel too older, just less younger.
This video made me feel both nostalgic and depressed. I'm not even 30 years old yet, but I'm feeling old AF.
Everyone on their 20s says that. Then when you close in on 40 you realize how much of an idiot you were.
Video game history with Kurosai 📒
Think that maybe we need a new word to describe era's of gaming outside of Retro so that when that label gets slapped on something more recent it doesn't make dialogue on all old games more obtuse.
As the roommate of a Gen Z man, I am surprised to see that an iPod is often used by someone, and they still add more songs onto it from time to time.
As someone who was born at the start of Gen Z (2002) I feel more like a Millennial every passing day when I see these videos. I remember playing the GameCube for hours, listening to my iPod, and all this stuff.
As a Gen Z born in 2007 I'm so glad that I grew up with the PS2. It's also a blessing and a curse that my current game console to this day is a PS3 (no PS4 or PS5 ).
Oh man that Xbox intro screen was sexy
As a dude who grew up with an NES, I dont appreciate you doing this to me. The back pain was enough
Ok, I wasn't prepared to get hit with the 360 being a retro console followed up by someone mentioning the iPod like that.
ps2 + EyeToy was my childhood
Caught that YYH music at the end. Slick.
I have yet to meet someone who owned a GameCube within its respective generation lifetime
I remember listening to music on one of my middle school friends' pink iPod nano... I miss it :(
I would like to prove the statement made at 0:53 wrong by saying that I have over 1,000 hours clocked in on Smash Bros Ultimate, spread out between two different consoles, on several different profiles.
we'll you are a dork
Nooo!! It reminds me of how old I am!!!
And I'm only 18 😭
I guess I've always been attached to the xbox360 I had growing up and the PS2. Things change so fast😔
30, and feeling very old.
Man hit me with the tekken one title
Tekken 2
The PS5 is my last console. Sony raised the price of PS Plus again which is a necessity for online multiplayer, and recently they confirmed our fears of going digital by literally taking back movies and TV shows that you *bought* , not rented but actually purchased.
Also: it's easier to sail the high seas on PC. Shame the good ones are wildly expensive.
You got me with the Gamecube because I never seen anybody have one.
I am 19 and you better believe my first video game was ocarina of time [gc release] followed up by wind waker.
I'm 21 and my retro consoles were the PS2, N64, Game Cube and Xbox 360
i think everybody knows the ipod is a fancy toilet
I’m safe! At least for another 2 years… I wasn’t playing PlayStation 2 till the PS4 came out
I still have an ipod with the click wheel, laying in a drawer somewhere
Not only do I know what an Ipod is, I still use one.
My first gaming experience as a Gen Zer was an old windows xp computer, later windows 7, I did experience the ps2, ps3 and xbox 360 but yeah I'd consider anything before 7th gen plus the Wii to be retro at this point. And I do see the value in mobile gaming but I probably still put a lot more time on PC gaming.
there's always outlier gen z people. mainly because of their older relatives exposing them to older tech.
@@Kurosai does people who were born in 2002 counts as "gen Z"? Or we're counted as younger millennials? Bcuz if we do count, then I think a lot of older gen Zs were able to experience "retro" things
I can proudly say that I played a racing simulator that wasn't gran Turismo on the PS2. Alot of people can't do that.
I cant remember what it was called but it had cg cutscenes, a female protagonist, and you started off with a white car.
Damn I loved my gamecube
the PS2 era, man that was some time ago
as a gen-zer my first console WAS a game cube ☠️☠️☠️
360 were good days
Sure they know what an ipod is, that australian guy who yells at em has over a million subscribers lol
I miss my iPod shuffle I let my cousin borrow and never got back so much. And my Dad’s Mp3 player he’d let me borrow before he got me the shuffle. I don’t have the miss the old consoles though they are all still working at his place lmao.
as a genzer i grew up on gamecube playing sonic the fighterz lol, having an ipod that someone handed me down and playing call of duty world at war on my cousin xbox 360 and the ps2 with gta vice city. Yes alot of my console were hand me down lol
Im 17 i know what a damn'd ipod is, my dad also still has one.
The fqs an ipod?.... _Instant memory when i was 3 and saw the ipod with the "cool" boys_
That ipod comment was unnecessary. Now, I feel old.
Not gonna lie, the 6th console generation had it the best when it came to aesthetics and home menus.
Yes, yes I am😭
I'm a Gen Z... My 1st "console" was a Sega Genesis. Remember the struggle where you thought blowing out the dust works? 😂
you lived with people two generations olders than you it sounds like
My car has classic plates. Its a 2003 corolla
I'll have you know I still have both of my Ipods! Not sure where the hell they are though...
Nah I still got the old pod. Also got my old USB mp3 plugin.
I have a GameCube, nes, and snes, as well as still functional gameboys and I still play them. I just bought resident evil and resident evil 4
Yup I am old as fuck, and it will happen to you tooooooo!!!
You're not alone
A a gen zer, I actually walk past a ps2 pretty often, and of course I know what an iPod is
I know what an ipod is and I feel old ;=;
Ipods are retro. The definition isn't as clear cut as one you could find online. There has to be some kind of almost nostalgia to it.
well the one i found in the one i put in the video lol.
@@Kurosai yeah, but it's not complete nostalgia because you have the object in your hand, it's more like an awe at how far we've come, but still remembering what was high tech, beloved, or amazing. A feeling of "retro" is very complex.
I think that feeling of retro you're referring to is something else, perhaps. Retro is more time oriented that nostalgia. You can feel nostalgic about something for 5 years ago. But that doesn't make it retro
@@Kurosai yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's something _like_ nostalgia. Retro stuff almost seems like it's from an alternate universe. It's super different from what's currently in use, to the point where you marvel that it was even a thing to begin with. Something old enough to be part of a different epoch of culture in its design and function. Like floppy disks are retro because we don't use anything like it, it's a completely obsolete form of data storage like how vinyl records are an obsolete form of playing music.
I hope this don't become a legal issue. Using other youtubers' AI voice for monetized content. H3 will def file something if he catches wind. He's all about money.
come what may. i dont know how he'll get money from a broke boy like me.
H3 sucks so much man
I still have a ps2 and an ipod, but the battery on the ipod is broken, so it has to be connected to its' stand at all times to work 😢
I know what the iPod is shocking right?😂
I still have the original Xbox😁
All my friends say I was raised in a different time period, because my parents never bought new tech when I was growing up. All I had was what they had as kids.
Xbox? Never heard of it, I played Dreamcast. DvD player? Sounds kinda like my VHS. Netflix? RUclips? Now you're just making things up.
I know what a ipod but do you know what a mp3 player

Video game consoles have always been the stupid poor mans version of a pc that you aren't allowed to modify. Like how you can download and modify anything you want on android versus having to use the apple store on iphone to access only the curated stupidly expensive programs apple deems appropriate instead. Take the switch versus the steam deck. With the steam deck you can put anything you want on it. With the switch you have to buy every $80+ game directly from Nintendo atore. It would be a sure sign of intelligence for people to just finally own their hardware but instead people get defensive over their stupidity. Please now roast me for being both poor and part of the pc master race.
iPods were revolutionary because before that I had to keep multiple cases of burned CD’s from my Strawhat days with Napster and Limewire.
So it was crazy going from CDs that could hold like 12 songs to something that could hold thousands.
But even that is nothing compared to what my phone can hold which is nothing compared to being able to just search stuff on the internet
Which makes it harder to find things randomly therefore I end up making playlists that feel like I’ve gone back a little (but hundreds per playlist instead of dozens)
Technology is so wild
And the burned cd thing was a new novelty at one point, I’d old enough that I had MC Hammer & Vanilla Ice cassette tapes that I’d listen to in my little Walkman cassette player
Which we all thought was so cool at the time because before that it was mostly just radio for my family
As a 33 year old who grew up in the greatest decade (the 90s), I remember Razr, and Sidekicks, and Blackberrys, and Ipods and Zunes in the 2000s. I personally had every console starting from the Super Nintendo. I grew up when Yugioh, Beyblade, DBZ, Pokémon, Digimon, etc, was the shit. Back then they weren't milked to death, they were just getting started.
As a matter of fact, I know what an iPod is. It's an extensive MP3 player, that got turned into a copy of the iPhone as the iPod Touch.
I got introduced to it at about eight years old, before I was gifted my first iPad.
mentioning the ipod apart from the ipod touch is a bit redundant. the point of mentioning the ipod was to mention that there was a time where the iphone did not exist. the iphone came out in 2007 and the ipod came out 2001.
@@Kurosai I was born two years after the iPod came into existence, and didn't experience it until around the time the iPhone was about two or three years old.
I had an iPod as a kid, but I was too much of a dumbass to know how to use it 😂
I still have my iPod. Even booted it back up and thought to myself, "wow, I had shit taste in music back then."
Game consoles will never go out of style because the convenience of just buying one and not having to worry about parts and drivers will always win out for the vast majority of people
the fact that microsoft opted to put their games on the microsoft store is telling. as soon as sony does the same thing then a console and PC will become indistinguishable.
@@Kurosaiyeah it’s much more likely that PC’s will just get simpler packages (like what mac’s used to be but for PC)
And “consoles” will become platforms like Steam, maybe even virtual machines
But not hardware. Hardware just doesn’t make sense in todays world
@@Kurosai Sony is already putting their games on PC though. It not day and date with consoles. Usually there is a lull where PC users need to wait a couple years, but almost everything that isn't named Bloodborne is coming PC. I think as early as 2025 we will see practically all of Sony's first party titles being on both PS5 and PC on the same day. But even when everything will be coming to PC I think there will still be a market for consoles, but it will be a much smaller market for consoles.
Today's consoles are all just PCs in terms of hardware, except like the switch which is a 2017 midrange phone. It's more a combination of price and simplicity.
@@thelakeman2538 A phone is also just a weaker PC too. But yeah I know that, but even with that in mind and even without exclusives I think some people will gravitate towards more traditional feeling consoles.
I kid you not, my older bro gave me a *literal fucking heart attack playing the loud version of the PlayStation 2 startup theme in my ear* whilst I was closing my eyes for some Zzzz. 😴
To this day, my original PS2, GameCube, Wii, Gameboy Advance & the og silver DS are still working, perfectly intact & will never be sold or auctioned off by myself or the family. 😊
humans and their sentimental nature. truly fascinating.
As a Gen-Zer I can proudly say that I got to experience the Nintendo GameCube.
i ant even watch this yet but no they ain't delete the damn post before i eject your pc into the stratosphere
nintendo stopped creating handheld consoles in order to fuse their market of mobile and home device. microsoft put all of their games on the microsoft store so that they could sell games regardless of if they have a console or not. dare i speak on sega and the dreamcast?

not every gen zer bought those consoles on release date lol, most were being sold long after. Not to mention many of us had hand-me down electronics. Gen Z definitely experienced gen 6 consoles!
I remember them a little bit I have an iPod still not the big one, the thin and tiny one used to be able to listen to music on them plug in your headphones there you go none of those Bluetooth thing that we have nowadays
I.....disagree.....
I say this as someone has played on some of the older consoles
And has used a i-pod
well, as a 19 y/o the most retro I can get is a first gen samsung touch screen phone.
Game consoles became a thing much later in Turkey and I still haven't got one.
I had a childhood playing with my friends in streets (and mostly being lonely after primary school).
I'm sure I missed a lot but that doesn't matter now. I'm happy where I am.
I don't even have fun playing games at this point(mostly because I never got to 'till now)
the fact that i’m gen z yet have used every old device mentioned in the video. for reference i was born in 2005, the same year uncle rick released the first percy jackson book
Older family members put you on
The Wii was my shit idgaf
Yeah well as a late but early Gen Z the PlayStation 2, PS3 even (Oh man I miss those good dayz but painfully dead now to see like literally except for a few games on the PS3 that some may still play on PS4 etc) Nintendo Game Cube, my siblings had the N64 though and others I was the youngest 🤭 but still got to experience most good consoles up to now... Today it just seems useless and IDK what I wanna do anymore.
PS1 was great so was PS2 although I think I had already mentioned that umm the PSP my brother had was cool I never got one, I got me a PSVita later on and did enjoy that before it was stolen. Umm yeah a 2DS, 2DSXL, and a 3DS finally but I didn't want it at the time as I was blessed but spoiled as hell as a kid man.
Oldest console I had was a ps1 Id play at my grandmas. Something that grey has to be retro
So that means I'm retro? I am 20 years as fo now.
being poor plus genz = gamecube
what?
