Back in the regiment we had a saying that’s been around for 500 years.
“Take care of your gear and your gear will take care of you!”

I found that super clean is the best I spray it on the chainsaw let it sit for 10 minutes then spray it with the hose and it looks brand new I have some very dirty saws and it works great on them

I generally cleaned the bar and everything under the side plate by scooping the oily sawdust out and wiping it all off. But I didn't use mine to make a living cutting all day.
I can see why they just cleaned it enough to keep it running after working all day long. Being tired out and cleaning it takes away from what little free time they have after work.
I think if they had a parts cleaner like yours that they would use it.
If they were company saws, I think it would pay for the company to buy a parts cleaner like yours. It might save them money in the long run. 🤔

I take mine to the car wash lol high pressure soap and high pressure rinse works very well and anything left on if I am working on a saw then I use mineral spirits in a big Rubbermaid tote and parts brush then break clean to remove mineral spirits for servicing

Everyone like to make a huge mess. Air blow it when it dry. Loosening all the crud w a big flathead. Then wipe it off. I want to know how yall keep water out of the fuel tank? Of course you have to tip it amd blow nasty gas water all over. Sounds great.

Problem is the many prior owners who never ever blew the grime, oil and sawdust out of every nook and cranny inside the saw, never clean or degrease, then sell you a cheap “running” powerhead on EBay. Then, instead of putting saw to work, I, being scrupulously clean with my own pro saws, am too disgusted to let such nice formerly glorious saws get put to work looking like crap. I just picked up a vintage 288xp . Not only is every square centimeter filthy, but some genius tried to paint over oily, greasy, dirty metal and plastic and the paint comes off on my gloves, but now the film is trapped under the paint so I have to strip it to the bare metal to be able to prime and paint it. Let’s not even talk about the reckless indifference to the mechanicals. Caveat emptor. If I didn’t love old Husky’s I’d toss this in a dumpster, but I can’t blame the saw for its dumb owner. But I can blame the dummy writing this for buying the saw..
