I figured this series would get just a little darker than Rebels, but there’s no way they’re going to execute unarmed women and children- oh.

What I realy liked was the twist that the guy who at first was glad for the empire existing and okay with continuing as a soldier for it was at the end the one with the best moral compass.
He braged about the ignoration of the Republic he endured and about Clones being redundant, but in the end he was still a soldier of the Republic, not of the empire.

    (Spoilers)
I always feel sad when they kill of Twileks and Togrutas for no particular reason and my heart was broken when they killed the poor Twilek lady in Saws camp.
But I like how Omega is turning around and I like how she is the best parts of Ezra and Ashoka but less wimsicals than they were in theyre first seasons.
This episode makes me worried for Wrecker since he is one of my favorite in the bunch and the only of the bad batch I could cosplay as so I hope he is not the first one to turn rouge and and that Tech and his gadget can save him.
But what I like the most in this series is how they show us the transition process from the republic to the empire and how fast the empire did move to supress the galaxy. I would have guess that it would have take them many years to tighten theyre grip of a whole galaxy but now they are rolling in supression meassurements within days of its creation. It makes me wonder how much of did Palpatine and the top ranks of the empire had planned when they took over? Cause installing chaincodes and starting to recruit stormtroopers should take a while even for the empire, right? And then I wonder when we will start to see the first of its classic ships like the Tie fighers and the Stardestroyers? Will they also be implemated early on?
But I really like this series so far and if its keep up its works over this and many more seasons I cant be happier. Johan.

You missed that the ship the insurgents were loading on Onderon looked like a basilisk war droid from KOTOR II, from the scene where the player rides one into battle... on Onderon.
    A few other thoughts:
    1) I no longer think Omega might Force sensitive. I think what we saw in episode 1 was her innate, heightened intuition and her knowledge of the inhibitor chips, *not* Force precognition, as well as her clone ability to sharp-shoot like Crosshair.
    2) The Bad Batch know about the chips, but don't know about taking them out yet. Remember that only Rex and Tup had theirs removed, and Tup is dead. I suspect it'll be meeting up with Rex that will clue them in to actually *removing* them if they can't just be made inert.

I think its really important to have the unique models whenever possible because it allows stories to be written that connect back to those background characters. For example in the death of Pre Vizsla scene there are multiple reused face models. But we later know that Gar Saxon, Ursa Wren, and Rook Kast were all in the room. If you use unique models then you setup the possibility for really cool connections, movies don't have to worry about this because every actor is unique.

Interesting how Crosshair's mission kind of undermines Tarkin's argument against the clones. Without a clone enforcing the mission parameters, the recruits wouldn't have executed the civvies. Kind of reveals that Credit is King and Tarkin is really more worried about the money than the efficiency of the troops. "Cost prohibitive" as he says. I suppose the Empire will use programmed clones to train recruits into utter obedience or be shot, as demonstrated with Crosshair's summary execution of the soldier.

There was a very beautiful scene at the end where Wrecker gives Omega her own room.
It's interesting, we get some serious contrast in this episode between the two main plots.
One of the most horrifying and brutal scenes of Crosshair ordering the execution of innocent civilians, and one of the most beautiful and wholesome scenes, where Omega gets her room and the Batch admire her and the moment.

I'm still not loving Omega, but I have to keep reminding myself that it took me a while before I started warming up to Ezra. I'll say, though, that I too am liking how well the rest of 99 have accepted/welcomed her into their group. I agree it was great that Hunter took her along on the search instead of just leaving her behind.
I am so glad I wasn't the only one who had the Wrecker/chip activation thought. There being such a focus on his headaches and Tech working on his scanner _has_ to mean we're going down the path of an "activated" Wrecker at some point.

Good dark Ep. Animation of flames from flame thrower looked off the charts!., Loved how Crosshair straight up kills member of saws squad for not answering his question, then member of his own for refusing his order..
Thought we got few hints to his possible redemption when Omega pulled out his weapon kit.TECH- it's worth noting the possibility that Crosshair actions were influenced by his inhibitor chip. ECHO- it can do that?. OMEGA- that's what it was designed to do. WRECKER- so it wasn't his fault.... (then later) OMEGA- you shouldn't be angry at him (Crosshair) he can't help it. HUNTER- I'm angry at myself, we don't leave our own behind. OMEGA- then we'll find a way to get him back..

I really enjoyed this one. I'm still at a crossroads regarding Crosshair, I can't help but wonder about his behaviour in the premiere, how much of that was the chip and how much of it was HIM? I know that he's now had it cranked up to 11 so he has no choice now but he's kinda shady even without the chip.
Hunter mentions that "they don't leave one of their own behind" something every clone is taught from day 1 but Crosshair shows no such loyalty, even when he was fully in control of himself. He even says in TCW S7 that he'd gladly leave a clone behind without a second thought so right there is the big red flag for me.
Hopefully Wrecker will get sorted soon, I am worried, I won't lie but I'm glad they are addressing their chips and I hope they'll run into Rex soon and he'll be able to help them. I want to see the Batch remove their chips entirely even if it's only a precaution because if one of them gets captured, that won't go well. On a more positive note, it is really good to see them warming to Omega and vice versa, I really loved that aspect of the episode

So… what if they find a non-invasive - maybe even remote - method of disabling the inhibitor chips? That would also explain why the empire didn’t go back to using clones, even after the majority of stormtroopers were proven to be less than ideal.
On the other hand, say a broadcast were sent out disabling all their chips at once, and the Empire was to respond by eliminating every clone it could find… yikes. That would get dark in a hurry.

I was on the flip side and thinking the rest of the squad will be in danger of having their chips amplified like Crosshair but it not working on Wrecker since his might now be damaged. He seems to be the most emotional and a not really a thinker so having him be the one left to save the rest of the Batch would be an interesting development if that's the route they take it.

  • @Guanthwei
    @Guanthwei 3 года назад

Up until you mentioned Wrecker possibly succumbing to the chip, I didn't want to believe that Omega could possibly be force sensitive. I don't like the idea that the Kaminoans figured out how to make a healthy force sensitive clone without suing a force sensitive genetic template. Hell, I don't like the idea that any clone could be force sensitive without major issues like psychosis or deformity. The only thing that's making me okay with this is the concept that Wrecker, being the one who treats her best, the one with the best heart-touching scenes with Omega, will ultimately realize she's force sensitive and the chip will take over his mind. I think that will be a VERY tough scene to watch, especially seeing how they're developing their bond, and ultimately I think Wrecker is going to die because they can't take him down to disable the chip. I don't think Omega is going to die, but I can't see how she'd be excused from any mention anywhere outside of this show. We already don't know what happens to Grogu, and he's never mentioned outside of Mandalorian. I don't want Omega to be ANOTHER Force sensitive surviving the Jedi purge. We were always supposed to believe that the Empire wiped out all but a small number of Jedi, and now we have Ezra, Omega, Grogu, Ahsoka, and possibly others existing out there in the galaxy.

I think it was intended as a transition from The Clone Wars to this series, start like a TCW episode and shift into The Bad Batch by the end.
Sadly, Tom Kane (the voice actor for the Narrator, Yoda, Yularin, etc.) had a stroke last year. I hope he recovers and can return to acting, but him not appearing in other BB episodes means the show won't be affected that way (his health is the priority, of course! We're all rooting for you, Tom!). The actors recorded all this dialogue years ago, given how far ahead Lucasfilm Animation works, so the lack of narration from episode 2 onward would have nothing to do with the stroke.

I have to be honest I can't be the only one who thinks Tarkin's vision for not using clones is really really nonsensical when it comes to how they follow orders and show allegiance. He said right after the troopers came back from killing Saw's people that this is why clones are not affective...
Well newsflash man you didn't even bother trying to use the clones that "would" follow your orders. Who's to say that those chips in the regular clones would render them from killing civilians? Idk I feel there are some plot holes there and a lot of conveyances for the plot to move forward. It just doesn't make sense to me their thought process of grading the clones and their loyalty based on the 4 clones who's chips didn't work...
