I love my iPhone 14 pro. I'm considering to buy a gimbal for my traveling. Not sure if I should buy the OM 5 or mobile 6. But it seems like it's a game changer. Does the gimbal also function as a tripod to ensure steadiness in low light photography?
I have a G6 max for my mirrorless and (sometimes) I use it with my smartphone. however, for the times when I just bring my smartphone, G6 is a bit to big too carry. I'm thinking about getting a smartphone gimbal with better portability while still retaining the free movement of G6. Do you think OM6 would be a perfect replacement or you have other suggestion? I'm mostly going to shoot horizontal with the main camera, with occasional main camera facing me. No front camera for me, cause my front camera sucks :-D. thank you Zdenka...

I got the MOZA AirCross gimbal after watching Zdenka’S review , been happy with it. And now I have shopping for IPhone 14 pro max suited gimbal , so far liking the Osmo 6 however there are fair few options out there , so still thinking
Switching the modes directly on the handle is a definite improvement. I don't use the mimo app because using bluetooth with the app on my iphone SE2 will deplete the phone battery very fast. I'm still using my OM4 for the past year and am still happy with it. Thanks for the detailed review, you do reviews better than all the other tech channels

Great review and tutorial again, thanks very much Zdenka! I am using OM 5 since a month or two. Never used such devices before, but now I got used to it ( which was quite a struggle tbh :) I can't do without it anymore. It adds so much smoothness to footage, even when walking on steep slopes completely exhausted, the footage looks comfy . I can advise any newbie to keep patient and just go outside and put in the hours to get used to this. It's not something you learn within 5 minutes. 😇

Great review. With the limited tilt movement, what happens at the limit of tilt? Does the tilt motor start rumbling and complaining when the limit is reached?
For the OM6 and your Samsung phone on the default Samsung camera app, are you able to use the physical buttons on the OM6 to control the shutter/zoom/etc on the Samsung camera app or will that only work with the Mimo app?
You can only control the shutter. The wheel does not work anywhere else only in DJI Mimo that means zoom and a focus. no gimbals out there have the ability to control zoom and focus on main camera up either on android or Apple.
This is not clear for me : I understand that some restrictions are there with android. However, is it possible to use om6 and monitor all parameters through the native samsung app ? I mean 60 fps etc etc Thanks for the clarification.
I got a very important question for me. I use DJI OM4 with my Samsung S21 Ultra. It is a big phone so every time I use gimbal I need to remove phone from the protective case. I can not use it with case because the clamp is to small . This clamp is bigger on OM6 and I wonder can I buy this clamp and use it on my DJ OM4? Willl it fit? Great rutorial as always. I wish they ad all putures to android phones, like 4K 60 fps.

I have the 3rd one and the mimo app doesn't work on my new phone . not that i use it for shooting footage but to change how it works slow or fast and different modes is just pain . my phone is oppo find x5 pro ... lol thank you I didn't know we had to down load the app DJI now you are one of the only people that have shown that you can get it from DJI . I have been trying to work it out for weeks after get my new phone
Thank you very much for sharing. Every android phone is different and will have different compatibility. It is best to check their compatibility list on their website before you get any of their products.

It is up to you if you want to upgrade. If you’re happy with the one you have, then there is no need to unless you feel like you need something better.

If you have Zhiyun Smooth 5.., there is absolutely no need to change anything. This gimbal would actually downgrade your set up as it is for beginners, not for advanced filming
@@ZdenkaDarula I didn’t think so, I use Switcher Studio to livestream lawn bowls, the program lets you remotely control DJI osmo gimbals and any iPhone camera. I had a brainwave about using the Wiral Lite for a bird’s eye view, but also hanging a gimbal. It does support the Galileo, but that looks like it stalled at iPhone 5. I’ll just attach direct to phone mount, only a problem when the jack moves left or right

I'm a huge fan girl of your videos as I am trying to increase the quality of my smart phone video on my channel. I'm seriously thinking of purchasing this gimbal to help me get better low shots of my dogs when walking them. The retractable arm on this one is really a nice feature. I do wish the companies would give Android the same attention they give Apple products. I like the lens on the Samsung Galaxy 21 pro better than the iphone right now. Thanks again Zdenka!
You are very welcome. Unfortunately, every single android requires different programming, so it is impossible to do that iPhone is only one system that is why they concentrate on that and it is much easier to prepare the apps. Also, the android companies don’t give us access to hardware, so they limit it right there.

It all depends on what the phone you are using and it’s compatibility with the gimbal of your choice. If you’re serious about filmmaking, I would step it up and go with Zhiyun smooth 5

Hi, I'm learning, and wonder why, (@6:32), you make such an emphasis -- while you are filming with the native camera-- you apparently can't see the motor and appear to be elated that when you use the mimo app, you are glad you can see the motor. What is that important?
Because many people always ask … many people complain about it once they buy the gimbal. It is a big problem with DJI Mimo… I am not happy I just confirm I found it because people got mad at me in the past I didn’t say it.. it is hard to keep an eye on details.. there is always someone who complains

If you use external lenses and want to do more advanced filming them smooth 5 it is.. this is more suitable for automatic filming or probably manual filming with a filter but you cannot load much on this

You are going to be disappointed with me. I would choose both for different reasons if I would not need any filters and lenses for daytime filming the family stuff. I will definitely go with DJI. However, if I need to film with filters and lenses and more advanced mouth, I would go with Zhiyun smooth five

They are both very different. If you need some thing, light and small than DJI if you don’t mind a big gamble and you want to do more of a filmmaking with filters and lenses than smooth 5 it is

I used to think the same thing..while the image stabilization is good even the top cell phones can't offer tilt lock and natural stabilization without digital blur
Well, yes, you can from hand held, but they will have a very hard time keeping the horizon straight with longer shots. There are also some predesigned moves which you cannot do handheld

I went with iPhone because it is compatible with everything. I whoever like androids, but again they are not compatible, so that’s why I stood away from it.
I am in the process of choosing between iPhone 14 pro and google pixel 7 pro to be combined with this Dji osmo 6 . Seems like the iPhone has a lot more going for it but is double the price here in Canada.

The motors are much stronger on the Osmo mobile six version. Whoever you might be having compatibility issues, I will check on their website to see if that phone is on the list.

I just read any of previous comment that you have an android. I used to be an android user for years, but I had to switch for iPhone because the compatibility issues. I don’t like Apple system…, I’m very honest about this. However, once I switched, I have no problems since.
Is there a way to adjust where on the screen the tracking is focussed? I had an original Osmo, and found that it always had to be in the middle. I want to film/track full body, so want to have the face tracking towards the top of the screen. can this be done?
Zdenka, not sure if someone else has covered this. Osmo is a great product but it’s hard to use it with an iPhone 14 pro, ND filter kit, counter weights, case and so on without going over the max carry weight. I guess you could remove the case and just use something like a Moment 67mm Phone Filter Mount which slides on but that seems to be close to or over the weight limit always….any suggestions please?
Yes, unfortunately this gimbal is not really made for large set up like that. It’s primarily made for social media and filming general content. There is nothing you can really do about this. The only option would be getting stronger gimbal made for that type of filming.
Do you know if there is any way to set/lock WB in Mimo? I haven't found it... Other stuff I'm missing is focus peaking (as there is the MF using roller) and some way to lock the zoom (I keep changing it constantly).
Only if you’re gonna be for me and manual mode, then you can change the white balance. This gimbal is for basic filming. You are not going to get features like in filmic Pro if you want to gimbal, which can handle all that then it is better to go with Zhiyun smooth 5 instead
Fortunately, I don’t have that phone so I cannot give you the answer. If you go to DJI website and check their compatibility list, you can see if it works or not.
Hi Zdenka, thanks for the great video.. I wonder, has DJI solve the problem that is with the DJI OM4.. the micro movement.. i discovered that problem when taking night/ astro shots with the pixel 4A5G and used the om4 as a tripod to direct the phone to a area in the sky with stars.. the pictures had moving blur.. then i checked it inside my home and zoomed to the max and saw live that the camera was moving around in tiny circles. It does that in the mimo app but also in the google camera it self.. so it must be a hardware problem DJI could or did not want to solve, i also saw on the forums that i am not the only one with that problem.. All of this and the lack of moving possibility when shooting a movie does make the DJI not something i would buy again.. Kind regards from the Netherlands, Pascal

It is best to weigh your phone with all accessories to find out if you’re below the maximum payload.., I unfortunately cannot answer for this as I don’t have that phone

Yes, it works as well. Osmo Mobile 6 is way better..

It is up to you if you want to upgrade. If you’re happy with the one you have, then there is no need to unless you feel like you need something better.

If you have Zhiyun Smooth 5.., there is absolutely no need to change anything. This gimbal would actually downgrade your set up as it is for beginners, not for advanced filming

@@ZdenkaDarula I didn’t think so, I use Switcher Studio to livestream lawn bowls, the program lets you remotely control DJI osmo gimbals and any iPhone camera. I had a brainwave about using the Wiral Lite for a bird’s eye view, but also hanging a gimbal. It does support the Galileo, but that looks like it stalled at iPhone 5. I’ll just attach direct to phone mount, only a problem when the jack moves left or right

I'm a huge fan girl of your videos as I am trying to increase the quality of my smart phone video on my channel. I'm seriously thinking of purchasing this gimbal to help me get better low shots of my dogs when walking them. The retractable arm on this one is really a nice feature. I do wish the companies would give Android the same attention they give Apple products. I like the lens on the Samsung Galaxy 21 pro better than the iphone right now. Thanks again Zdenka!
You are very welcome. Unfortunately, every single android requires different programming, so it is impossible to do that iPhone is only one system that is why they concentrate on that and it is much easier to prepare the apps. Also, the android companies don’t give us access to hardware, so they limit it right there.

Did you move the elbow towards you? You can bend it.

It all depends on what the phone you are using and it’s compatibility with the gimbal of your choice. If you’re serious about filmmaking, I would step it up and go with Zhiyun smooth 5

Hi, I'm learning, and wonder why, (@6:32), you make such an emphasis -- while you are filming with the native camera-- you apparently can't see the motor and appear to be elated that when you use the mimo app, you are glad you can see the motor. What is that important?
Because many people always ask … many people complain about it once they buy the gimbal. It is a big problem with DJI Mimo… I am not happy I just confirm I found it because people got mad at me in the past I didn’t say it.. it is hard to keep an eye on details.. there is always someone who complains

If you use external lenses and want to do more advanced filming them smooth 5 it is.. this is more suitable for automatic filming or probably manual filming with a filter but you cannot load much on this

You are going to be disappointed with me. I would choose both for different reasons if I would not need any filters and lenses for daytime filming the family stuff. I will definitely go with DJI. However, if I need to film with filters and lenses and more advanced mouth, I would go with Zhiyun smooth five

Well, yes, you can from hand held, but they will have a very hard time keeping the horizon straight with longer shots. There are also some predesigned moves which you cannot do handheld

I went with iPhone because it is compatible with everything. I whoever like androids, but again they are not compatible, so that’s why I stood away from it.
I am in the process of choosing between iPhone 14 pro and google pixel 7 pro to be combined with this Dji osmo 6 . Seems like the iPhone has a lot more going for it but is double the price here in Canada.

The motors are much stronger on the Osmo mobile six version. Whoever you might be having compatibility issues, I will check on their website to see if that phone is on the list.

I just read any of previous comment that you have an android. I used to be an android user for years, but I had to switch for iPhone because the compatibility issues. I don’t like Apple system…, I’m very honest about this. However, once I switched, I have no problems since.

Is there a way to adjust where on the screen the tracking is focussed? I had an original Osmo, and found that it always had to be in the middle. I want to film/track full body, so want to have the face tracking towards the top of the screen. can this be done?
Unfortunately, that’s the only way with a DJI . Hohem V2 can do it
Zdenka, not sure if someone else has covered this. Osmo is a great product but it’s hard to use it with an iPhone 14 pro, ND filter kit, counter weights, case and so on without going over the max carry weight. I guess you could remove the case and just use something like a Moment 67mm Phone Filter Mount which slides on but that seems to be close to or over the weight limit always….any suggestions please?
Yes, unfortunately this gimbal is not really made for large set up like that. It’s primarily made for social media and filming general content. There is nothing you can really do about this. The only option would be getting stronger gimbal made for that type of filming.

Do you know if there is any way to set/lock WB in Mimo? I haven't found it...
Other stuff I'm missing is focus peaking (as there is the MF using roller) and some way to lock the zoom (I keep changing it constantly).
Only if you’re gonna be for me and manual mode, then you can change the white balance. This gimbal is for basic filming. You are not going to get features like in filmic Pro if you want to gimbal, which can handle all that then it is better to go with Zhiyun smooth 5 instead

Active track should work with all phones but it depends on your Android model as they are all different. It is best to email them directly

I like my dgi 5 but can’t use it with my mic in horizontal mode (shuremv88 ) wonder if this will work better for that.

Hi Zdenka, thanks for the great video.. I wonder, has DJI solve the problem that is with the DJI OM4.. the micro movement..
i discovered that problem when taking night/ astro shots with the pixel 4A5G and used the om4 as a tripod to direct the phone to a area in the sky with stars.. the pictures had moving blur.. then i checked it inside my home and zoomed to the max and saw live that the camera was moving around in tiny circles. It does that in the mimo app but also in the google camera it self.. so it must be a hardware problem DJI could or did not want to solve, i also saw on the forums that i am not the only one with that problem..
All of this and the lack of moving possibility when shooting a movie does make the DJI not something i would buy again..

It is best to weigh your phone with all accessories to find out if you’re below the maximum payload.., I unfortunately cannot answer for this as I don’t have that phone
