    The only reason Mirage was named Dino was because of Ferrari didn’t like the name Mirage, and Mattel has exclusive rights to Ferrari toys which is why Hasbro made some modifications to the old Sideways figure from the second film, though I’m not sure why Wheeljack was named Que, but the Cemetery Wind kill cards identify Dino as Mirage, which is confusing, if they wanted Mirage they could’ve used a different vehicle, same with Wheeljack

    • @KnightsRealm98
      @KnightsRealm98  5 месяцев назад +3

      Oh, I know the reasons. I just find it idiotic that they have two names (for Wheeljack, it's a James Bond reference. Why? No idea). I completely agree, if you insist on having a Ferrari, just call him Dino and bring in another character named Mirage. Don't be all confusing with this two names nonsense.

      @@KnightsRealm98 Yeah, but I guess Michael Bay wanted a cool looking Vehicle, probably unaware that Mattel has the rights for Ferrari products, also your choice of Carly is much more faithful since Megan Fox’s character was cut entirely cause of her comparing Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler, that of which I don’t see at all, also Sentinel being voiced by Leonard Nimoy was on purpose of Bay cause Nimoy was married to Bay’s sister and his intentional references to Star Trek, shame Leonard Nimoy has passed away, may he rest in peace

    I'm a little worried that if the Sentinel betrayal goes the way it did in the movie that Jazz is going to die instead of Ironhide, yeah Hide is stronger but Jazz is the second in command like how Hide was in TF3. It could be a good twist after Jazz got a bunch of time in the ROTF re-write. Maybe Ironhide can take over as second in command like how Sideswipe did in the battle of Chicago in the movie.

    I have a suspicion that the world would turn against the Autobots despite they saved the Earth three times and the people who witnessed their heroic actions since they’re exposed to the public. Like the Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 said: Despite you have everything done for them, eventually they’ll hate you. But the Autobots choose perseverance and never give up protecting them and they’ll have a moment that’s straight from Spider-Man 1, the train scene from Spider-Man 2 and the scene from the episode of Justice League Unlimited Patriot Act and those to have one thing in common that the citizens stand up to the heroes and they see that the world wouldn’t be better without them or killing heroes wont make the world safe and I imagine that scene but it’s the fantastic cameos of Peter Cullen and Frank Welker.😆 That’ll be fantastic for the Age of Extinction rewrite.😁

    Off topic question , what bayverse design for any of the transformers do you like the most if not more than the G1 counterpart ? Another question , but this one is more on topic , would you add the other combiners like the Stunticons & the Combaticons for the future rewrites ? Because l would've loved to see the Combaticons for TF5 since there was already one of the members in that film , as for TF4 l think that the Stunticons would've been perfect for that film they could've either been as KSI bots ; Rougue Decepticons that became Lockdown's companions or suboerdinates & or a 3rd faction for the movie.

    • @KnightsRealm98
      @KnightsRealm98  5 месяцев назад +4

      1. I'm actually a fan of Jazz's design. Not more than G1, but pretty on par. Shockwave's much the same, not better but still pretty good. I like how Blackout and Barricade have influenced their future designs (much like Knock Out in Prime), but I find I prefer those later designs (especially the concept art for Prime Barricade).
      2. Maybe. I'm finding it difficult to juggle the cast as is, mostly because feature-length movies aren't ideal for exploring large casts of characters (especially villains. There's a reason Brawl and Barricade have been background characters since RotF). If I could make it work, I'd even introduce Superion and Defensor. I doubt I could, but I'd like to.

    • @KougarManx468
      @KougarManx468 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@KnightsRealm98 pretty great choices for question no.1 , l kinda prefer Mirage's design from TF3more than his G1 counterpart , that's maybe due to that version being the 1st ever introduction to the character that l had , plus something about his arm-blades and him having red color scheme compared to his g1's blue color scheme makes him look even more steathy in a strange way , in a weird way l prefer either TF1 or TF5 Megatron's designs , the TF1's design due to him looking more alien-like , as for the TF5's design l like how it kinda makes the G1's design more intimidating in a strange way .
      As for the 2nd question l think that if you are gonna do the rewrite for TF5 l think that you could remove some of the decepticon's cast like Berserker & that one Mohawk decepticon to make room for characterisation for some of the combaticon's cast . Furthermore if you're gonna kill off Soundwave ; Shockwave & Megatron like in the actual TF3 movie , l think that if you're gotta modify the whole K.S.I subplot that you could make some of the K.S.I bot's have some sort of "personality" (if that's the right word for it) like : Stinger -> Soundblast or Waspinator ; Nitro Zeus -> Shockblast ; Megatron -> Galvatron , now l think that Lockdown & the Stunticons should be the main Antagonists of TF4 and Galvatron & Shockblast ; Soundblast & the other k.s.i bots as the secondary Antagonistic groupe, as for Galvatron alongside the other characters they could be given more characterization in TF5 . These are some of my ideas that l csme up with , now whether or not these ideas work that could be up for debate or modifications .

    12:33 the change to bullets is an obvious one and serves two purposes. michael bay has gone on record stating that realism was a huge factor in how he developed the transformers movies. Its also a partial a reason why the transformeres aren't carried over asthetically, since the sentiment was that they wouldnt translate into the setting bay wanted (whether or not thats true is not really the spot of debate) While not out of the realm of possibility, people are more likely to buy into bullets and missles rather than funky space lazers. Plus, rule of cool. You can do alot of interesting shots and action spectacle with real artillery that is completely lost with energy beams.
    On other note, since when were energy weapons more effective than real ammunition? Even on a comparatively primitive earth, Humans have created anti armor rounds and weaponry that shred armor plating. To state blankly that laser weapons are just superior when we have tried and tested artillery units and actual bonified rail guns seems foolish.
    I love these rewrites, but little things like this just sorta feel petty lmao

    • @KnightsRealm98
      @KnightsRealm98  5 месяцев назад +4

      Maybe it is petty, but I don't really care. A story about sapient alien robots who turn into vehicles is not the kind of story to bring "realism" into. In my opinion, if you are adapting a piece of media, you should not be ashamed of what that piece of media is. It's why the insistence on making superhero movies "grounded" in the late 2000s-early 2010s bothers me. Sure, The Dark Knight was a good movie, but if you think about it for more than a second (especially when it comes to Two-Face and Batman's insane range of fighting ability), Nolan's insistence on the film being "realistic" is kind of to the narrative's detriment.
      And as for audiences not buying into lasers, last I checked, Star Wars was one of the biggest franchises in history, and TF really is far more comparable to sci-fantasy like Star Wars than to anything else, what with the Matrix, Primus, Unicron, and the robots having souls. On top of that, the MCU used lasers all the time (Iron Man, Avengers, Guardians, etc.), and that franchise only started to get a lot of detractors after Infinity War. So I really do not buy the argument that audiences wouldn't accept lasers.
      The simple fact of the matter is that the creators of these movies either didn't understand the Transformers, or didn't respect their roots. The franchise is incredibly silly when you think about it, and it's at its best when it embraces the silliness and tells an engaging story anyway, not when it's trying to distance itself from the fact that it's a little bizarre (though it's recently leaned *too* far into *goofiness* in my opinion, forgetting that the characters in-universe don't think it's silly). Even Prime, a more serious adaptation, leaned into the stranger elements. There's zombie-making Energon in that show. If you think about that in a "realistic" sense, it's ridiculous. But if you think about it in a fantasy sense (because this franchise is sci-fantasy), then it's fine.
      A movie doesn't need to be "realistic" to be believable. Lord of the Rings isn't realistic *at all*, and it's the highest-grossing film trilogy of all time (if I remember correctly, that is). A film, or story in general, needs *verisimilitude* and *internal consistency* to be believable. I want to believe that the events of that movie are happening and *could* happen in that movie's universe, and it's not realism that determines that. It's *believability*. Do I believe that this scenario could happen in this movie or book or show? There's a reason why people don't like Rey as a character in the Sequels. It's because she isn't *believable* when compared to those who came before. She's too skilled for her supposed "nobody" background, when even the Chosen One, Anakin, couldn't use the Force actively until he was trained. But here's Rey Jedi-Mind-Tricking a stormtrooper and pulling a lightsaber towards her and besting a trained duelist when the only thing she's ever fought with is a staff (because staff-fighting and sword-fighting are two completely different disciplines. Just because you're good with one, doesn't mean you'd be good with the other). That's not believable in the context of Star Wars. But energy weapons in a world of giant, transforming, alien robots with souls aren't unbelievable at all. I've already suspended my disbelief enough to accept that those exist, so why not "funky space lasers?" But if Optimus started breakdancing and challenging Megatron to a dance-off, or if the Energy weapons didn't hurt humans in the slightest, then I'd be pulled right out of the film.
      That's my opinion on that argument. I don't believe that an obvious fantasy franchise should be stripped of its more fantastical elements because of "realism." It's not real life. It's not telling a story about real life. It's about aliens and space ships and magic cubes and destiny, not a heightened version of how human life works. If I want realism, I'll watch a Scorsese film or a crime show, not Transformers.

    • @supercanadaeh9483
      @supercanadaeh9483 5 месяцев назад +2

      @KnightsRealm98 I want to start off saying I appreciate the timely, and well articulated reply. Can definitely sense your passion for subjects like this reading this and it's one I totally respect. I'm going to try and tackle this argument by argument, but forgive me if I glance over any points here in my retort
      I would argue that making a movie grounded in the nature the transformers does is not the same as being ashamed of what the franchise is. Even if Michael bay wasn't a fan himself, it's not an unknown that he and Steven Spielberg were surrounded by an incredibly talented and invested collection of artists and other team members that were. And it's not like the director waved it off as an opportunity to make a bad film. Quite the opposite, actually. Beyond just the spoken words of Michael himself, it's very clear that much passion went into the project. Say what you will about the nuances of the plot and characterizations, all of the transformers movies are Mastercraft of action filmmaking from every technical standpoint. They aren't faithful to the source material, They are there own thing. People don't like the character designs much like people dont like the suits in the early xmen films. more power to you if you don't, but each one was crafted meticulously to fit within the narrative role they had (im sure you are aware of why bay ratchet is green and optimus has flames). There's a reason those characters designs still stick around within the Fandom. Different, their own unique entity. And for the most part, what characterization we do get is pretty solid. The point is, wanting to do something different (making something dark, grounded etc) does not make something lesser as an enterpretation nor implies its ashamed if it's roots.
      It's a bit of a side tangent but, while I respect your choice to use various G1 designs for these rewrites, it personally feels a bit disingenuous to completely ignore the hard work that actually went into crafting the lineup, and perhaps is a facet that loses the point of a rewrite vs just crafting an original story.
      Comparing star wars in this manner to transformers of all things is a logical fallacy. People buy it there yes, but you're neglecting the massive separation in tone. The original trilogy and the films therafter are hard sci fi at the very core. The worlds the characters live in is itself fantastical. The transformers, especially the live action movies, dont have that luxery. You have to meld those characters into real settings that people recognize. Put them next to cars and buildings that are typical of an american setting. Hell. Even the food in star wars is unnatural to us. Its easier to accept the fantastical when the settong is blatantly fantastical. The transformers movies strip that down (which as stated before, is okay).
      Look to my first paragraph to see more on this. I genuinely find that line of thinking rather insulting to the creative team behind the movie. A story doesn't have to be respectful to be good and legitimate. I don't really have much to say on the latter half and the prime tangent, other than to suggest being careful not to fall into the pitfall of condemning every serious adaptation for making the same changes to their stories. The movies didn't need any of that to make a billion dollars.
      I never stated a film needs to be realistic to be believable. But it does need to fit into the setting intended. There's alot to unpack here that's not really on topic.

      @@supercanadaeh9483 Not really looking to debate much further, so we can agree to disagree on certain things. I do appreciate the points, I just don't agree on many of them, so debating further isn't going to help anybody. There comes a point in every argument where you either say, "okay," and move on, or just keep getting more heated until everyone's mad. I'm not interested in doing that, so I'm ending it here.
      However, I do want to address the G1 designs thing. Simply put, I don't like the majority of Bayverse Autobot designs, but I wanted to maintain that film aesthetic, so I took designs from Bumblebee and RotB, as well as Aligned because they're less "cartoon-y." Unfortunately, not every character has that sort of "middle-ground" design, like Jetfire or Skids, so I defaulted to G1. I'd *prefer* more movie-ish designs, but if I had to choose between buck-toothed green Skids and his blue G1 look, I'm choosing G1 any day of the week. Ironhide is red, Ratchet is white-and-red, and Jetfire doesn't have a beard. This series is about *fixing* what I, personally, thought didn't work about these movies, and the designs are part of that. So when I can default to a BB or RotB design, I do. Jazz, Barricade, Blackout, and Bonecrusher were fine, though. I like those designs. I almost kept Shockwave the same, but I like the BB movie one more, so.
      At the end of the day, this is my personal preference as to how these films should have gone. Not an objective standpoint because some folks genuinely adore these films (I don't know why, but they do). My one restriction is sticking to the main plot as closely as I can, while cutting down the human-centric parts and adding new robot-centric ones. I even debated not including the flashbacks in this one, but after cutting out most of Sam's story, there was a lot of dead air that couldn't be filled by more Decepticon scenes. So, flashbacks it was.
      I guess all that to say, I don't have much respect for the filmmakers of these movies. Other than the fact that the CGI, the voice-acting, and the direction during the action scenes is pretty good, and that most of the human actors did a good job, and even that the core of the first, third, and fourth scripts are good in concept, the unnecessary changes to the lore, the ugly designs, the bizarre dialogue, the weird character choices, and the utter bloat of the humans and lack of robots all bother me. To me, it feels disrespectful to the franchise, and so I have no respect for these decisions. Michael Bay's a great director for action and disaster movies (I love Armageddon, for example), but I can't help but feel that he was the wrong pick for this franchise. Kurtzman and Orci, I actually do like as writers (they worked on Transformers Prime, after all. Though I'm less fond of Kurtzman's work on Star Trek), so that explains why the core premise tends to be good, but the execution leaves *much* to be desired. And after BB proved that G1-y designs *do* work in live action, I simply do not buy any explanation for the Bay designs. The CG, excellent. The designs, not so much (though there are good ones).
      And the utter lack of soul in the robots doesn't help. I grew up with Starscream struggling with his alignment in Armada, Optimus feeling the weight of the universe on his shoulders, Rodimus being forced to fill massive shoes, etc. And most of what we get in these movies is..."I'll kill you!"

      @KnightsRealm98 thats all fair, and I respect the wish to cut the debate here (even if i take issue with your comments on the team behind the scenes themselves). As someone who grew up with the bayverse, I wish I could do more or say something that would make you see what I saw in it, but that'd be an error in thinking. It's maybe a little cheating but, with how great the tie in comics were, along with other media and the gold nuggets in the films themselves that did work, it just saddens me that nobody is ever really willing to try and put them through that same lense. Anyway. I do enjoy your writing. Just couldn't help myself this time, lol
