4:32 always sends chills down my spine. Truly a masterpiece masterfully performed, and I’ve never seen a conductor with a style so theatrical as this one. Toward the end of the piece especially (around 8:01) he puts his whole body into it and launches himself right into the orchestra, fully extending his right arm toward them as if he is he is the God of thunder shooting them with a bolt of lightning.
When was the last time you hear a piccolo used that extensively? The other question is what the hell is that lady flute player supposed to do? She just sat there the entire time.
@@orientaldagger6920there are multiple pieces with extensive & sometimes even solo picc parts. There’re actually multiple editions of this overture. Most Rossini overtures have 1 flute & 1 picc part, but not this version. It’s too bad both players couldn’t play it, as the flute could’ve easily doubled some violin parts or the flute & picc could be doubled in some spots. She was likely playing flute on something else & just stayed on stage, which is easier for setup on shorter pieces like this.
C'è poco da discutere : Benda è il massimo interprete del grande e geniale Cigno . Direttore preciso, filologico, elegante, severo e pure antipatico ma NON SUPERABILE !!
Rossini, der König der Ouvertüren . Fantastische Musik.

My favorite Rossini opera. This is a magnificent performance - Bravo!
A wonderful performance by gifted musicians.. Amazing how powerful a chamber orchestra can sound. Thanks for up-load.
Bravo. Outstanding Play~
Wow! This is the best Algeri I have heard, absolutely thrilling! Cheers from Australia.
Hervorragende Präsentation meiner Lieblings Ouvertüre.
Geht mir genauso! Musikalischer Champagner vom Feinsten!!!!
How enjoyable! A great orchestra with something to say.
De las mejores presentaciones de esta hermosa obertura.

BELLO
Il primo oboe è fantastico
No flute part, but she was certainly smiling throughout.
She was certainly nice to look at.

Unusual to see a piccolo player playing a metal flute. Most play on a wooden piccolo. Just curious.
Depends on what sound you want. Silver can play more shrill. The player is using a wooden head joint.
@@willhale9502 You can't really tell from the sound anyway. The instrument is shrill regardless.
Bella esecuzione ! grancassa che copre tutto il resto nel finale... ad ogni modo è solo un dettaglio.

I’d have preferred the flute to the piccolo, but nicely done
I agree!
Une coda assez atroce…
