So invigorating to see players who dance in their seats. Even when not playing, the players sway to the rhythm. Rossini would love it.

Players who do that just irritate the hell out of me. That's why I shut my eyes when at a concert.
Love the 2nd(?) flute player fingering the notes even when not playing. Such fun music.
With the possible exception of the trombone player, jamming down on those arpeggios; he is earning his paycheck tonight!

Rossini, Offenbach, and Beethoven wrote the best Overtures. IMHO. I still remember that about 30 years ago, while I was traveling, in Beijing, I bought my first handheld recorder, a headphone, and a few music tapes, which included my very first tape that was filled with Rossini and Offenbach Overtures. From that point on, I couldn't stop listening to it over and over again. That cost over one month of my salary at the time, but I never regretted it, since it was a bargain for a lifetime enjoyment of classical music like this one. Just cannot stop sharing the story.

An outstanding performance. Some would call Maestro Videnoff a crazy Dude, but I'll call him a music aficionado. He feels the music with every inch of his being, completely immersed in the sounds of Signor Rossini.

unico? purtroppo in buona compagnia. quella dei tanti "direttori" sordi come lui che non sanno cosa sia dirigere, non sanno bilanciare i suoni dell'orchestra, non conoscono la storia delle interpretazioni che li hanno preceduti e pensano che dirigere sia muovere in aria una bacchetta.
quelli che dirigono Rossini (e il resto) come farebbe un bambino davanti a uno stereo. solo che qui le sue mosse inconsulte danno fastidio a chi suona, e infatti l'orchestra in più di un punto perde di verticalità. dunque? evidentemente ha amici importanti, altrimenti non si spiegherebbe come un disastro del genere possa "dirigere".

Great conductor and orchestra very beautiful
Lovely and brilliant way to conduct the orchestra in front of such a difficult musical score. Videnoff encourages the musicians while making them have fun, simply bright! I think I've seen some of them playing their instruments in a mindset between an unavoidable concentration and a funny, delightful sense of enjoyment. Lucky them! If Rossiny was around, he wouldn't probably miss this superb performance of one of his masterpieces. Bravo!!!

What an integrated conductor! His body, his face, his eyes, his hands, everything was involved in this concert. I don't know who fed off who, he from the orchestra or vice versa but a wonderful result.
Bravo! A fantastic rendition of Rossini on the part of the conductor and the musicians, many if whom are young. The conductor really gets into the music too, I like that and the energy both he and the musicians put into the music. Well done!
The facial expressions from the Conductor side, always has significant impact on the music which is being performed! This musical video is a very good example of that. It is just wonderful!
I often wondered, do the musicians even look at the conductor? Are they not fixated on the score in front of them to play the right notes? I'm not that musically talented to be able to play an instrument looking at a paper with lines and dots and play the right ones to put it so crude...
What rubbish! The conductor may as well be a metronome! The musicians are looking at their music not the conductor's face.
@@tommo01The Conductor's little show was for us, not the Orchestra. He had already taught them how to play this piece in the practice sessions. And they came through wonderfully!!

Avevo 8 anni quando ho sentito questo pezzo la prima volta, mi è sempre piaciuto ma non mi ha mai dato emozioni particolari. Ora a quasi 80 anni questo direttore un pò folle è riuscito a farmi piangere. Bravo lui e bravi tutti!
