    So invigorating to see players who dance in their seats. Even when not playing, the players sway to the rhythm. Rossini would love it.

    Jamais vu un chef mimer avec autant d’expression la direction de l’orchestre. C’es revigorant et véritablement une révolution dans la conduite précise d’une œuvre. Un régal. Magnifique et talentueux orchestre de Mannheim!

      It's the music used in Stanley Kubrick's, film "A Clockwork Orange". It's an a inspiring explosion of joy, life, and happiness.
      My favorite Rossini overature among the great works he created.

    An outstanding performance. Some would call Maestro Videnoff a crazy Dude, but I'll call him a music aficionado. He feels the music with every inch of his being, completely immersed in the sounds of Signor Rossini.

    Rossini, Offenbach, and Beethoven wrote the best Overtures. IMHO. I still remember that about 30 years ago, while I was traveling, in Beijing, I bought my first handheld recorder, a headphone, and a few music tapes, which included my very first tape that was filled with Rossini and Offenbach Overtures. From that point on, I couldn't stop listening to it over and over again. That cost over one month of my salary at the time, but I never regretted it, since it was a bargain for a lifetime enjoyment of classical music like this one. Just cannot stop sharing the story.

      unico? purtroppo in buona compagnia. quella dei tanti "direttori" sordi come lui che non sanno cosa sia dirigere, non sanno bilanciare i suoni dell'orchestra, non conoscono la storia delle interpretazioni che li hanno preceduti e pensano che dirigere sia muovere in aria una bacchetta.
      quelli che dirigono Rossini (e il resto) come farebbe un bambino davanti a uno stereo. solo che qui le sue mosse inconsulte danno fastidio a chi suona, e infatti l'orchestra in più di un punto perde di verticalità. dunque? evidentemente ha amici importanti, altrimenti non si spiegherebbe come un disastro del genere possa "dirigere".

    Ich bin nicht weit von Mannheim aufgewachsen und habe von meiner mutter die liebe fuer klassische musik geerbt.
    Wunderbarer dirigent und wunderbares orchester zum zuhoeren wenn man mal hin und wieder mal etwas heimweh hat.

    Bellssimo! guardate al minuto 2.50 fino al minuto 3.00 circa.....il secondo flauto, la ragazza bionda, con le dita segue e simula di suonare con il primo flauto mentre ha il suo strumento in grembo.....Signori questa e' la musica,che ti trascina ti innalza ti travolge e ti emoziona.....insomma questo e' il bello dell'orchestra che ci avvolge, e ci fa suonare con "lei", e' la musica con la M maiuscola......grazie per queste emozioni.....

    I thought I was the only one to be delirious at the audition, the conductor comforted me by showing me that no, of course, imagine... thank you... I feel even more delirious. Music is truly transcendental...

    Lovely and brilliant way to conduct the orchestra in front of such a difficult musical score. Videnoff encourages the musicians while making them have fun, simply bright! I think I've seen some of them playing their instruments in a mindset between an unavoidable concentration and a funny, delightful sense of enjoyment. Lucky them! If Rossiny was around, he wouldn't probably miss this superb performance of one of his masterpieces. Bravo!!!

      Stupenda interpretazione. A queto capolavoro vorrei aggiungere solo questo . Con queste note la il maestro Toscanini riapri il sipario della SCALA dopo la seconda guerra mondiale. per gli amanti di Rossini vedere il finale del guglielo tel spiegato da Alessandro Baricco . Buon anno

    I always tell myself I’m just going to listen to a couple of minutes of Videnoff and the Mannheimer and I always end watching the whole damned performance and maybe another one. If they could make musical fentanyl, its name would be Mannheimer.

      Purtroppo, la stragrande maggioranza degli italiani non sente alcuna responsabilità al riguardo. Ecco perché siamo ridotti così oggi. Oggi un Rossini qui non potrebbe esplicare il suo talento.
