- We traveled 1800 miles to get from the cold in Colorado to Florida…and quick (4 days)! We’re not crazy about driving that many miles in a short period of time, but we had plans and were anxious to get to Florida.
Day 1: Colorado to northern Texas
Day 2: Texas. All Day. We did make it just over the border to Louisiana.
Day 3: Louisiana to Florida. This was the most fun day. We crossed the Mississippi River, tried to spell Mississippi, and finally got our Buc-ee’s fix. We also went through Mississippi and Alabama along the way to our stop in Tallahassee, FLORDA. Yay! We made it to Florida!
Day 4: Tallahassee to Flagler Beach. This is our final destination for a while. It’s northeast Florida and just a little north of Daytona). Love this place!
We just started RVing in a fifth wheel as well. We found that we could decrease the stress on travel days by staying over a day or two after every 2 driving days. That gives us a little time to decompress. We enjoy the journey more that way as well as the destination.
That's a great way to it! We did it that way going back home for the holidays. We typically don't travel 4 days in a row, but we were on a time table to get to Florida.
That trucks get maybe 7mpg with that huge trailer behind....
It's actually around 9 or 10 typically. 🙂 Not great but that's all part of the lifestyle.
Nice video. I’m new to the channel. What tow vehicle do you use?? Thanks
We have a RAM 3500. 🙂
You guys need a diesel Class A motorhome if you want to travel faster on the highway...
We're content with our speed. We've looked at Class A's but haven't found a floorplan we like better than a fifth wheel.
Please, get a new mic.
I'm glad you mentioned that. We have an external mic that wasn't working. We figured it out today after your comment reminded me. Thanks!
@@thervinglife Best of luck with your trip/adventure. Sure sounds like fun.
