@@aimanleondore From what I know playing the game on 3DS and the Nintendo Switch, Miitopia has “fixed” encounters where you’ll always fight a group of enemies at a certain part of a stage. For example, if you explored a stage with two battles and revisit the stage again, you’ll still have two battles in the same places. Sometimes the enemies you fight may change... but it was very, very rare in my case.

1:18 I have to disagree with you, Alex. The horse adds to the gameplay. It’s cool to see your character mount a horse and fight against the enemies. Instead of having 4 characters on screen, you now have 5. Sure you can play without the horse but you can also play with less characters on screen. I think it’s cool to see the build in relationship with the horse and the other characters.

The real fun of this game is to make the party characters people you actually know and care about. It is much more appealing that way. Because they’re so generic in game that you won’t get attached to, say, Geno. Because you don’t have an existing relationship with them, and the game isn’t going to do anything to make you attached to them. You need to bring that attachment to the game in my opinion, and it makes it way more appealing if it’s there to help the game along.
It's kind of silly but in the 3DS version I made myself the main character and my first other party member was my brother. And your first party member is the last one you rescue. So it legitimately felt like an emotional moment to finally get him back. It also meant he was under levelled so I had to make an effort to get him caught up again.

Miis mean a lo to me, they were my childhood in a way, and Miitopia's my favourite game of all time. I've got over 300 hours in the 3DS version, 5 playthroughs, and I can't get enough of it. The Switch version, though I haven' gotten very far, it's better then the 3DS version and that means I already am in love with it. I love this game so, so much. And this is coming from a guy who loves more tactical games. The gameplay's good enough for me (The Safe Spot single handedly makes it a great battle system in my opinion.) Also, this game is absolutely glory for headcanons. I don't even really like Headcanons but I've got full backstories for all of my party.
You’re review wasn’t even that bad actually, there were indeed a lot of fun parts and a lot of tedious parts too, for example: playing a level multiple times to get a gold flag, everyone starting from 0 friendship when you have a 10 team squad. Those are mostly tedious for me but other than that i had a BLAST playing the game and using the new mii maker. Miitopia has been my favorite game since the 3ds game and im so happy that i get to play it on the switch.
...scene begins... Alex, unsure if his review holds water, begins with the usual waffling but cannot exclaim "lets dive right in" because he fears what may happen to them if the water has been slowly drawing out.
I don't think Alex used the horse well based on his opinion of it. That horse actually comes in handy a lot especially with the main character at the start of each new chapter. Also, EVERY job has an ultimate and unique horse attack if you get your level to like 13 or so with the horse. So yes, the horse is a nice addition.
He also forgot the best use of the horse. When one of your party member rides the horse on the map it speeds up map traversal. This was really nice for those of us who had already played the 3ds version.
I thought the Miitopia review was super funky! It gave me a fair bit to think about, and while Miitopia is my absolute favourite game of all time, it’s not a 10/10 and I totally get it! The graphics are beautiful and gorgeous, especially comparing the graphics from the 3DS to the switch. I agree that the horse doesn’t feel like a massive addition to the game, but I did think they were a lovely and interesting addition regardless. I played the 3DS version over and over when I had it, and I really think the customisation added a lot of value to this version of the game for me! (As someone who has a specific look for all of my characters, who are OCs, having more detail and features to them that I couldn’t before was fantastic!) I think my favourite aspect of Miitopia is the fact that it totally let me build my own perfect story with my own characters, lore, details and additions! I love the story I’ve crafted when spring-boarding from the normal bare-bones story. I really made the game my own, as anyone can when they play it!
If you want Miitopia's RPG elements to be even more fun? Do a no-death 100% run. Legitimately always kept me thinking and strategizing, and I got to find my way around some major Imp Shaped road blocks and I had fun the entire way through. I did this with my one and only playthrough with the original release and I'm gonna do it again on Switch...once my copy arrives in the mail... Miitopia stands as one of my favorite games I've ever played and I'm so happy it's on Switch now.
It's random with the horse attacks. For the standard horse attack, it's either one enemy attack or multiple enemy attack. So, that statement is wrong. The interactions between the characters make the game better, not just the fact that they're Miis.
“The horse doesn’t do anything”. Tell me, have you unlocked the Horse Whispering skill? You use all your MP for a special, class exclusive attack! If that’s “nothing”, then what counts as “something”? Horse is best party member, end of story.
Just wanna add that your link to the Miitopia review is actually a link back to this same video. You owe me a cookie for having to watch the ads three times before realizing the link was wrong.
I’m glad with my purchase to be honest, the Miis in this game are far more advanced then they’ve ever been. This should be the gold standard for future Mii games IMO and that includes the upcoming Mario Golf or at the very least they should let you import Miis from Miitopia over to Mario Golf.
The biggest reason I want to buy it, is due to its overly simplistic nature, I've been craving a simple and charming game as of late. I feel like it does fill a gap in gaming, it fills the gap of over simplicity, everything is about being epic, cool and overly stimulating, Mii topia fills my need for something simplistic and fun. Also I've just always adored the Mii games so there's some bias in there because of that 😂. Btw before I get hate for being a "casual gamer" here's a flex for ya, I've beaten Ng+ 4-5-6-7 each within a day in dark souls 3, and I'm currently destroying bosses in sekiro in Ng+7 without any Shinobi prosthetics or any attack modifiers. Ik my way around a hard and complex game, but I adore casual games as well
I'm obsessed with this game. It's meant to be played daily over several months. We know this because of the daily bonuses and for the fact that it encourages you to save and quit after a few inns.
For me, absolutely it fills a gap in the Switch library. My most played games on 3DS were Animal Crossing New Leaf, the Style Savvy series, Tomodachi Life, and Miitopia. These were games to relax to and have casual fun, but you could put in more effort than needed, making it even more enjoyable for you. I still feel like we need more games like this.
There is another feature which is brand new in this version, the Outings where not in the 3DS version, and they really change and ease how your party members, and nintendo didn't really advertise that change as being new.
The issue for me is as someone who's played through the original and put a good amount of hours into it, the idea of playing it all over again with very little changed is a double edged sword. On the one hand I can build a new team which will make it feel different enough. And there are so many exchanges between characters I know I haven't seen them all. On the other hand it costs more than the 3DS version (Plus the cost of the worst online subscription service of all time) and has probably fixed none of the issues. (Not being able to control anyone when your main character isn't in the party just sucks and once I'd decided on my main four after getting everyone back together there wasn't that much incentive to ever change switch from them again.)
"Does it fill a gap in the Switch market"? Yes. It fills in the gap of all the people that enjoyed the Wii and Wii U because of the simple games involving people they recognized. Why Nintendo got rid of deep Mii support with the Switch is beyond me. The Wii proved that, with familiar controls, even the elderly will enjoy video games, and when you can put them into the game it becomes more fun. Disappointed there aren't more Mii centric titles like all the mini-games on the 3DS. Of course, I'm just speaking from my own experience. Maybe there are more games out there than I know, but I bought a Switch and was immediately disappointed with the lack of Mii stuff in it.
it was in the 3DS version but a lot more tedious to do. You had to equip the armor normally and then go into the "Stuff" menu to change back to the appearance of the old armor. so it existed but was made a lot more available in this version.
I never got a chance to play the Samus Returns for 3DS. Do you guys think it will ever come to Switch? Do you think that it would be a good move For Nintendo to bring it to the Switch?

I made Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, Azula, Barriss Offee, and Cyrus from Pokemon fight the Dark Lord Sauron. This game is perfect in my book.
It’s like an animal crossing we don’t have to pick up everyday in order to keep things up.
Just wanna add that your link to the Miitopia review is actually a link back to this same video. You owe me a cookie for having to watch the ads three times before realizing the link was wrong.
the link to the review in the description seems wrong, it just redirects back to here lol
You justified it to me by the first frame of Doshin, no need to go for the hard sell now.
I’m glad with my purchase to be honest, the Miis in this game are far more advanced then they’ve ever been.
This should be the gold standard for future Mii games IMO and that includes the upcoming Mario Golf or at the very least they should let you import Miis from Miitopia over to Mario Golf.
It makes me happy how much there marketing this game I am constantly getting ads for this game which is good
Im kinda tempted to get this game and make AVGN. Especially seeing the gunner in this video. And Gaming Historian if there's a wizard class
There is a mage class. Do it.
There is a Mage Job, they are called jobs but yeah, also the gunner looks horrible dont get that
I'm guessing you mean "tank" and it's probably the worst class because you cannot wear amiibo costumes
@@sam4gaming135 also it doesn't gain speed by levelup
The horse will activate? No, it will rear-up, much better.
Once upon a time, Doshin the Giant and David Bowie went on an adventure...
I feel like you guys should do a weekly (...or something, lol) Mii showcase in Miitopia. owo
I didn’t even need a new feature to get me to get this game but it’s nice the horse is there
12:05 “I don’t wanna say rails…. Track.”
Me- bro the track is built out of rails 😂
If you want to see what Miitopia would be like without the Miis, check out the The Denpa Men series on the 3ds
Can we get an Ever Oasis port or sequel?
Anyone know the song playing in the video's background? Sounds so good!
it's a battle theme from Miitopia, but I can't tell which one without diving through them all.
@@Rot8erConeX thanks!
I love Miitopia because you can create your own playthrough lore.
Ik my way around a hard and complex game, but I adore casual games as well
I started out with Matt, Shaggy and Obama.
My next team was Beef Boss, Sans and Dudy Dude.
My 3rd was Waluigi, Villager and Bob Ross.
110/10
I'm obsessed with this game. It's meant to be played daily over several months. We know this because of the daily bonuses and for the fact that it encourages you to save and quit after a few inns.
For me, absolutely it fills a gap in the Switch library. My most played games on 3DS were Animal Crossing New Leaf, the Style Savvy series, Tomodachi Life, and Miitopia. These were games to relax to and have casual fun, but you could put in more effort than needed, making it even more enjoyable for you. I still feel like we need more games like this.
I would be more interested if if had a bit of DnD injected into it with dialpigie choices and branching storylines etc.
Should i get this or game builder garage?
I thought this was going to be a whole video of Jon just berating Alex for including Kiddy Kong in the review for a brief moment.
There is another feature which is brand new in this version, the Outings where not in the 3DS version, and they really change and ease how your party members, and nintendo didn't really advertise that change as being new.
I wonder if mittopia will get a sequal
... you forgot the super secret new gauntlet tower
On the contrary, please feel free to keep saying "creamy."
To be fair, the Mona Lisa was doable with the Wii U and 3DS' mii maker. But this definitely looks way more advanced.
Can I have an access code to your Dedede. He looks stunningly good, and I really wanted to add him.
10/10 Alex's creamy dream of a review.
The most important feature is equipping stats. Having a design and being able to stick with it is super important me. This wasn’t in the 3ds version
it was in the 3DS version but a lot more tedious to do. You had to equip the armor normally and then go into the "Stuff" menu to change back to the appearance of the old armor.
so it existed but was made a lot more available in this version.
Also my horse Epona got my back. Will one shot kill a bunch of enemies at once so Alex u wrong as hell
I never got a chance to play the Samus Returns for 3DS. Do you guys think it will ever come to Switch? Do you think that it would be a good move For Nintendo to bring it to the Switch?
I don't think Samus returns is coming to the switch because I think Nintendo is busy working on the rumored 2d metroid game
You're not forced to go with the horse attacks. I think he means that other party members always go for them when it procs.
He means that when the horse activates you can't use your basic attack
@@PhoebeTheFairy56 But you can...?
Next they need to add Tomodachi Life to switch
The standard horse attack sometimes does hit every enemy though. lol :''D
not *every* enemy. Just the ones on either side of your target.
