Even if you don't have custom cables like me, they would make it easier.... I am getting some soon. I used about 50 wire ties and it's unbelievably tidy. You can get a lot more management if you get that eBay shroud. Great case. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Great for LAN parties due to rugged construction and handles, that is one place where having Plastic instead of Tempered Glass comes in handy. Hope someone reads this and gets useful information!! :)
Steam Stole My Wallet I'm reading it. I was drooling over this case when I first saw this video on original release. Only now am I ready and able to buy it. Would you still recommend or is there something else you think is better?
Some stores still have it available, around £115 in the UK. I was wondering though, is there any case like it but with more modern features? Either an updated version from Corsair or a similar style case from any other brand?
Well this is my first case I ever had and still like it after many years. You have many space to put things on and cable management is very easy here. However the only problem I have is with the slots for harddrives as you only have those 6 places in front. If you would use most or all of them up front fans for lets say gpu cooling wont be a thing anymore. Anyways very good case
I bought this in Olive drab in 2013 and have build 2 systems in it. This week I was toying with the idea of "upgrading" to a new case and couldn't thin of any good reason to do it. Found several of these old reviews and am seriously like, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Oh the good ole days of Linus unboxings! LOL Keep up the great work, Man!

I purchased the black version of this case back in the day. It's a wonderful case and I'm still using it today. My only complaint is the cable management clips break very easily.I replaced the window with a full sheet of acrylic to block the fan holes that I was not using. Thermals are good. The aesthetics of this case are a style that is timeless. Newer cases definitely look fancy but because of the military style of this case, people still say "wow that looks cool!"

When I was constructing my PC build I came across this case on display at Fry's. I immediately decided to use it when I saw it. That was about 5 years ago and I am still in love with this thing. It's actually a very simple look with great build quality. It looks great with some green LED lighting inside.
Spotted this case while shopping for a new one online, and man, it was love at first sight. I wanted optical bays, a good number of drive bays and a good style, and this thing hits a home run every time, far as I'm concerned. It's at least the next best thing to building a PC inside an Apple G5 or Mac Pro tower case. :D
Eric Wood yep. I spotted this about a year and a half ago, while watching Linus build my dream builds. After one, I went and looked up cases... found this. Finally go it a little over a year later and am in love.
The C70 is one of those cases that everybody says "ok, cool" but then move on with their case shopping, however the most time you spend on it, the more you fall in love with its features. I recently bought one of these in white, and let me tell you, this an amazing case. Not only for the price and features, but mostly because of its looks and build quality (all steel) that are never going to get out of fashion. Plus it has more personality than your usual black box with shinny metal design.
Got it for my new rig! thanks linus! decided to buy it after watching this video!! more power!! and yes the carrying handle's freakin tough! carrying it up and down the stairs 2x a day.. its been 5 days and its still good!
I enjoyed building with this case. Really good for lanning because of the handles. The army rugged look is something to see in person, if you dig that, you should at least check this case out!
Yeah, I've priced out all of the components (CPU block, radiator, pump, resevior, tubes, compression fittings, fluid), I just wanted to make sure that this one would be a good choice for water cooling, since the mid tower case that I have isn't set up in a way that makes water cooling very possible. (200mm fan mount on top without holes for 2x120mm radiator, etc.)
gtaclevelandcity that's what I have. z87 Sabretooth w/ a 4770k & a GTX 780. Edit: Just upgraded to a z97 (HERO) w/ 2 980 TI's and I couldn't be happier with it. ^.^
I've had this case for a couple months now, and it is ROCK SOLID. I love the all metal construction, it fits everything i put inside, superb cable management (one of the best i've seen with the clips). I just wish corsair sold a separate side panel that has no fan holes in the acrylic. Another thing to note, it can't fit a push/pull configuration for liquid cooling unless you're willing to mod your case a little ;)
I'm not kidding, I have literally just got one of these after searching forever. I cannot wait to get this set up and modified to look like a 50 cal box.
@@kevink2809 I paid £45 for mine but it needed a new paint job and was missing some parts. But they can depend on the condition. I think the most I've seen one go for was about £80. Mine was from ebay.

Dude, I love your channel. I'm currently in the market and whenever I see a new part I like the look of, I come here. And chances are, you've reviewed it. SUB!
As a big fan of Flight sims and Arma 2, I can honestly say that this case is not only very functional but also exactly the style I want. Fantastic case, I hope I can somehow get one in the future.
I've had this case now since it came out, and it has endured 2 full rebuilds, and 2 apartment moves. Still looks almost new! Not going to replace it until technology changes so much that I am forced to.
It's a 200mm fan, it moves a lot of air, so that's not a problem. The fact that it has 3 exhaust fans isn't deal breaking, it's pretty standard and with good case fans, you're going to get really good cooling. It's not always about quantity.
I have this case and the h100i.. Whether it is push of pull configuration.. It'll fit on the case.. but as the previous commenter suggested.. use pull instead of push.. linus made a video about that... Depending on your motherboard, you could fit a push/pull config with a little modification on the case.
I don't think the drive sleds came loose during shipping Linus... I think they came loose when you shook the case with the force of an earthquake with a magnitude of 10.0 on the Richter scale. Nice looking case, definitely a must for military themed builds. I'd love a video on the CM Storm Trooper!
That is a very nice case! I'm actually impressed. And 120mm fans all round so you can actually mount the good ones! (no 140mm & 200mm nonsense). I was considering buying the Nexus Prominent R, but I may have to reconsider. If the corsair turns out to be quiet too I guess we have a winner. Thanks Linus!
I have the gunmetal black edition of this case. Love it. Plan on buying 4 led case fans, and a corsair h100i. Love the clear side panel view of this case
Thank you for your video's Linus, I find them to be extremely helpful. This was the first of your video's that I've seen, and it inspired me to get this case (in white) to start a new build.
Yes they are - I'm not sure about 240 rad in front - there might not be enough clearance - or it would involve some minot modding, but if you remove the drives you should be able to fit one at the bottom.
got the arctic white, very practical case with lots of space. only thing is that my noctua nh d14 is a close call fit. the sleeved wire of the 120mm fan rests against the window but no major problem. highly recommended
I came across this case on PCPartPicker for my first gaming rig build I have been working on. While I am not a hardcore gamer that will be overclocking, your video did push me to think about going liquid cooling with a internal radiator vs the Coolermaster CPU cooler I had originally picked out. Still stumbling my way through my first build and trying to pick the pieces out right but this video review really set me on this case in OD Green.
Perfect compliment for my still relevant Sabertooth x58! the C70 is now on the short list! after a nice set of Noctua fans and the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler.
I was really surprised to see how inexpensive this case was. In the past, something this nice would ordinarily run $250 plus from what I had seen. Great job corsair on the case, and thanks for the video, linus!
actually i think you can mount a total of 10 fans! Two 120s in the fron, two 120s on the hard drives, two 120,s on the side panel, two 120s on the top and one 120 for rear exhaust and one 120 for bottom ventilation.
Avoid placing fans in-line with each other closer than 2 or so fan radii, since the interference significantly increases noise in the same way an air siren works
Well he works for NCIX which is a computer company/business, and I'm pretty sure he gets most of his parts from the NCIX warehouse or somewhere, then they just resell it as open box or something like that, but he doesn't need to keep most of the things he unboxes, cause he already has a beast pc.
Thanks for this video. I found it at a local Fry's and I must say, it rivals my obsession between a SilverStone ft03 and the in-win d frame, only at a more realistic price point for me.
I bought one of these to replace a Lian Li, very easy to work with due to all those fan mounts and cable management options. I have found the front panel a little fiddly to get back on at times though. Update Aug 2024: Built a new PC with a Thermaltake Tower 200 but the C70 has been so good I might repurpose it into a storage server with all the drive bays and expansion slots, refitted with some ultra quiet fans.
Eh, kind of. Aside from the price point, the FT02 and 800D (I'm assuming that's the one you're talking about) are two totally different cases. The 800D is a water-cooling beast, while the FT02 strives to be one of the best air-cooling-oriented cases on the market (although you can put a radiator in the FT02, the option feels more like an after-thought rather than a feature imo).
So i guess u could get this case in white green or black, themed build is important in building a new gaming pc :) linus good videos as always keep them coming , i would like to see more colors though custom paint for me
Holy crap, I watch so many of Linus's videos and they're always in the front page of my youtube, but I just realized I wasn't subscribed! I'm sorry Linus! I subscribed as soon as I noticed!
Yes they are both removable, but I don't think you would need to remove them unless you have like the biggest card on the planet... my system is in a c70 and I have an evga gtx 680 and I still have 2.5inches (6cm or so) of room between the back of the card and the fans on the HDD cages. Hope you found this helpful (:
I found this video while looking up ammo can builds and i watch your channel all the time. I am a sheet metal worker in the military and I am trying to come up with ideas on how to fabricate the mounting and other internal sheet metal components to convert an ammo can into a pc case. If you could do a ammo can build i would really appreciate it and share it with all my computer building comrades.
He may have bumped it while he was swinging it around. I have a white C70 and the bottom feet (as well as the rest of the case) came totally intact after shipping.
Still have this case since it first ever released.... Got two 240mm radiators... Everything water blocked, custom loop system.. This is by far still a really up to date.. Everything is removable. Glad i spent the money on this. Great Air flow and DURABLE **EDIT**. Runing RTX2080 Super, I7 9700k and EVGA 1300w PSU, removed the HD slots on the front bottom, installed a EK 2x Thickness 240mm Radiator and Same 240 radiator on the top of the case. I have so much room, reservoir and everything fits PERFECT. running a 800L/Hour Pump, GPU under load while gaming goes 45-52C and CPU max loaded Temps while Gaming 50-60C sometimes 40-50, Depends on games. This is a future proof case. Everything now is Glass... Weak... Visible show RGB... ew. End of the day I throw my computer case at your case. Mine will survive. Easy to carry, very mobile. ITS A DURABLE case. Absolutely LOVE IT. Air flow inlet are the Front and Top (Through Radiators for cool air. Outlet is the side cover and backside of case. Great GREAT cooling for its time.

Just picked this up today for my first PC build, just gotta wait for the rest of the components to arrive!
Any update on performance?
got the arctic white, very practical case with lots of space. only thing is that my noctua nh d14 is a close call fit. the sleeved wire of the 120mm fan rests against the window but no major problem. highly recommended
It's good to watch videos when Linus is so happy :-)
I came across this case on PCPartPicker for my first gaming rig build I have been working on. While I am not a hardcore gamer that will be overclocking, your video did push me to think about going liquid cooling with a internal radiator vs the Coolermaster CPU cooler I had originally picked out. Still stumbling my way through my first build and trying to pick the pieces out right but this video review really set me on this case in OD Green.
Perfect compliment for my still relevant Sabertooth x58! the C70 is now on the short list! after a nice set of Noctua fans and the Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler.
Just Bought this case! Amazing! I will be making an unboxing video of it soon.. It is the black color of this
I was really surprised to see how inexpensive this case was. In the past, something this nice would ordinarily run $250 plus from what I had seen. Great job corsair on the case, and thanks for the video, linus!
I love this case i got it about 3 moths ago and have not regretted it once
I am seriously considering building my first PC and if I did I would definitely use this case.
Finally Linus. I was waiting for this video from you.
I'm not sure those hard drive bays fell out in shipping. I'm pretty sure they fell out in the beginning when you did the handle test.
@TheTjj226 I believe the HDD cages are removable and if you remove the bottom one, you can put a 240 rad at the bottom, in front of the PSU.
Can't wait to get mine, I currently have a cougar af-2 military style case but this one is way better!
actually i think you can mount a total of 10 fans! Two 120s in the fron, two 120s on the hard drives, two 120,s on the side panel, two 120s on the top and one 120 for rear exhaust and one 120 for bottom ventilation.
i think u can get 4 120's in the top if u use a dual 120mm radiator
Actually it fits 11 fans. 2 120mm on the front, 2 140mm on the top, 1 120mm in the rear, 2 140mm on the side, and 2 120mm in the middle.
Avoid placing fans in-line with each other closer than 2 or so fan radii, since the interference significantly increases noise in the same way an air siren works
This for the radiator support, and the white and black versions look nice.
Outstanding unboxing! This is my new case. thanks!!
Great case. I have one white and black which i love. Its big and ready for upgrades
Btw, if you remove the bottom drivecage and the rail, it is possible to mount a 240mm rad on the bottom
If you buy a good case with good airflow to begin with, a couple side panel fans won't make a noticeable difference in GPU temps.
Eh, kind of. Aside from the price point, the FT02 and 800D (I'm assuming that's the one you're talking about) are two totally different cases. The 800D is a water-cooling beast, while the FT02 strives to be one of the best air-cooling-oriented cases on the market (although you can put a radiator in the FT02, the option feels more like an after-thought rather than a feature imo).
dang. corsair is just getting better and better.
Ahhh linus you never cease to make me laugh throughout a 10 minute video
acctually it's 11 if you take out the hard drive cages, there is a extra fan space there for either a 120 or 140
Yes they are both removable, but I don't think you would need to remove them unless you have like the biggest card on the planet... my system is in a c70 and I have an evga gtx 680 and I still have 2.5inches (6cm or so) of room between the back of the card and the fans on the HDD cages. Hope you found this helpful (:
I don't like the look of the perforated side window, but I'm pretty sure you can rotate it so the fan mounts are on any side :D
It has the same fan set up as the 400R. Hopefully they gave you more head room, if you want to use an X79 mother board, with the H100 cooler.
He may have bumped it while he was swinging it around. I have a white C70 and the bottom feet (as well as the rest of the case) came totally intact after shipping.
great review. I am sold on this case. I wish the power button have the plastic cover like the reset button too.
It could also look cool if you had dual mounted fans. i think thats why they have the holes. For the fan mounts.
Still have this case since it first ever released.... Got two 240mm radiators... Everything water blocked, custom loop system.. This is by far still a really up to date.. Everything is removable. Glad i spent the money on this. Great Air flow and DURABLE
**EDIT**.
I wanna install a three fans radiator in the top
@@fjso2 then do it. Not sure how you will... let me know how it works
I would love to see you do one of your masterful builds with this case!
YOUR PROFILE PIC IS AWESOME!
thats for airflow. this is a gaming series case. meaning you would want air on your gpu!
The white version of this case is going to be the one that'll house my gaming rig when I finally start saving up for one in a couple of months.
I have this case in black. If you want this case, make sure you buy filters for the top and sides. Allot of dust will build up inside otherwise.
This case's rating gets a 300% bonus for being the first case I've seen in years that has a reset switch.
