You can tell the importance of something in a culture by the number of words they have for it. That Korean has so many words for “to clean” and “to wash” shows how hygiene is important to them…

There are many situations where this would fit but also many where this doesn't fit. I wouldn't overestimate it.
치우다 to clean like your friends come to your house to play or to do such stuff and when it's time to eat then you finish eating you say ("자~ 우리 치울까?"wich is shell we start cleaning?" )or ( "자 얘들아 우리 추우자" wich means " let's clean guys")

hello! im watching this late so I might not get an answer; 목욕하다 does this mean wash yourself/ bathe? when is this commonly used?

You'd just use "to brush (one's) teeth" which is a different verb and not "clean" or "wash" - 양치(를) 하다.

You can use the expression 이(를) 닦다, which also has the same meaning as 양치(를) 하다.
@@menear It's supposed to be 이, not 치. You may have heard "치(를) 떨다" which is a different verb.

That would be related to "laundry," and has its own different definition in the dictionary.
