    My Uncle watched one of Bruce's demos and he said he was not a believer of his style, but then he was amazed of Bruce's punching and kicking speed.

    Bruce Lee's demonstration partner is Taky Kimura. The actual event, I believe, was hosted by Ed Parker.

    Part of this video is from 1964 and other part is from 1967 Ed Parker's tournament. Interesting to see how is technique evolved. In 1964, he was all wing chun. In 1967 you can see a strong influence in western boxing. His kicking technique also evolved. Strong influence in taekwondo and karate.

    When Bruce lee gave his demonstration @ Ed Parker's 1964 internationals Bruce by that time had been studying, training, learning Wing Chun Gung Fu for Eleven Years having begun in 1953.

    For the benefit if those who don't know. Bruce Lee also trained with Great Grand Master Ralph Castro, in San Francisco. A contemporary of Ed Parker. also a Kenpo System (Shaolin Kenpo). Where do think the Back Fist came from? And the side kick. Not from Wing Chun. But Wing Chun was his base. Too many people don't understand that his base was Wing Chun. It just didn't fit him as art that would translate into fighting a mobile fighter.

    I bet many felt their intellects challenge that day…coun't deal with the fact that such a young man and specially Chinese.. was explaining to them how a real fighter should be, and what really takes for a person to be ready for a real life situation, and the differences between real fighting and competition besides teaching them that we are all equal, no limitations etc… but of course! player hater don't digest his teachings . and many of those people felt jealous later on.. and now that he is dead cry ..spreading rumors and try to capitalize on him hahaha.. very Brave! congrats haters.

      These are demonstrations. There is no right way to fight. Only real fighters know that. You don't know a thing about real fighting. Bruce knew very little about it. He was about philosophy and his own technique. Which as we see today there aren't any big names using jeet kun do. That says it all.

    • @Dylaneilton62
      @Dylaneilton62 6 лет назад

      Rodriguez is right. That was before he went studying in the US, at 18, this is actually why he had to leave HK, needed to calm down, and start to do something with his life, far away from the gangs. And some other special stuff like that. And why would it it wrong? Wouldnt be the first man doing that sort of dangerous thing haha, so far. Nothing unimaginable about that

      I was a huge Bruce Lee fan as a kid, but the truth is that there is no evidence of Bruce ever fighting. only stories.
      we have never seen him spar for real, the videos online could be anyone since we never see his face.
      he was obviously fast and skilled, but his figure has been greatly exaggerated, mainly because all the martial artists of USA at that time were absolute shite, except for few rare cases, so when they saw Bruce he seemed like a god.
      Parker was a con man that got away with making a bullshit style and bullshit background because of the same reason, nobody there knew much about martial arts.

    From Vic Moore himself, and Ed Parker Jr. who has the original footage and was told by his dad, Ed Parker Sr. to keep this embarrassment to Bruce a secret. Ed Sr has passed now and jr sees no reason to keep the secret. Also there are a few more fighters that were there that tell the same story as Vic and Ed jr. So from the person who actually participated in the event, eye witnesses and and the person who has the original clear footage.

    To bad this video is to far gone for someone other than a remastering studio to bring it back to life. I have heard people say that Bruce Lee would get beat bad in an MMA fight. The problem with that Logic is that Bruce Lee was an incredibly improvised fighter and would of probably learned Jujitsu and wrestling to perfection and then improve them both it's the type of person he was.

It's easy for people to see something beautiful in the martial arts and to see talent but when you have teachers who create a system an actual code of combat they get tested. It's a true test to see someone's art but bruce had a differnt approach and phylosophy no way as way no limitation as you limitation

      No he never fought anyone. He wasnt interested in trophies. Also, competitions have rules to protect you from getting hurt. He was a street fighter, no rules. Big or little he would beat you. One thing no one knows or forgets. His punches were quicker than your reactions. They were actually timed. He could hit you BEFORE you could react to the punch, you have no chance!

    • @aubreysteele4466
      @aubreysteele4466 5 лет назад +2

      Everything you said is correct. I once saw a video of Bruce standing in front of an 8th Dan karate guy. Bruce could and did hit him (not hard) in the face repeatedly before the guy could even move his hands, much less block Bruce's strokes. Anyone who doesn't recognize that there are always exceptions to what we would regard as possible is an idiot. These negative comments are just a natural reaction of mediocre people refusing to recognize excellence in others, and of course, the latest generation always thinks it is superior to all previous generations. A similar argument surrounds Jim Brown. All of the modern "experts" say he couldn't make it in the NFL today. Never-the-less there was a special about Brown featuring a half dozen of more modern backs who are in the Pro Football Hall Fame and have broken many of his records. They point to Mr. Brown as the ultimate running back (6'-2", 232lbs. 40 yds. in 4.5 sec. in his full gear on grass, the strength of a 300 lb. man, tougher than boot leather, and just plain meaner than a junk-yard dog). Who you gonna believe? I'll go with Ray Lewis's opinion about Brown and un-doctored videos of Mr. Lee.
