I Saw This Old 🏫 1935 Cartoon Short Adaptation Of The Brothers Grimm Kids’ Fairy Tale @ Alamo Drafthouse 🎥 🎭 In Downtown NYC Wall St. Just Before “Five Nights @ Freddy’s”! It Was Fun Cartoon & I 👍🏻 The Fight Scene With The 🐶🐱🐔🐎 Fighting The Thieves Who Tried To Steal The Loot From Their Master’s 🏡 & Became Heroes @ The End Of The Short!
I can remember listening to this story on an old 78 RPM record in its original format where each animal is from a different owner. First the rooster learns that he's about to be killed and turned into pie and decides to leave and each animal gets added to the group in turn. Eventually they wind up outside the robbers' house where the robbers are about to tuck into a meal and, not knowing that they're robbers, the animals decide to sing for their supper. They make such a frightening noise that the robbers run away, so the animals eat the meal the robbers were about to have. Then one of the robbers comes back and in the dark gets kicked by the donkey (horse in some versions), scratched by the cat and bitten by the dog while the rooster crows in the background. The robber runs away again and reports to the others that there are various nasty creatures in the house (which he imagines as lions or something more dangerous) and all the while he was being attacked, a judge was up in the rafters calling out "Hang the rascal, do." So the animals end up anthropomorphically living in the house.
this cartoon came out about 45 years before I was born... but the mouse stealing the little bit of money says SO much...
Awesome Cartoons
Those old cartoons are spechial
Another good version of this story is the 1972 Jim Henson telling.

Wow I can't believe I found it again
the mouse coming out and steeling the money is a dissing to Disney?
Dunno about dissing, but it was damn good, unfortunate foreshadowing.
