Agreed, think the best way Tommy will learn is regularly sparring with game fighters who actually want to come at him and fight, and getting Grant in the camp would do that.

He seems to be facing decent opposition in his last fight given his experience. A fight like that a month and he’ll have brain damage before he retires!
He’s got a long way to perfecting his craft and what’s the point in rushing it and taking avoidable punishment. That’s just not what pro boxing is any more...

I agree that younger fighters are not nearly busy enough but 5 fights in 6 months is pushing it unless he was just knocking out nobodies in the first round but that wouldn't achieve much. Seeing up and coming prospects fight 5 times a year would be a massive leap forward. World champs with recognised belts have earned the right to pick and choose the best fights and put on a big show once or twice a year. I don't know when it started that fighters so early in their career think they can do the same.
Tommy is learning on the job every interview the team say the same thing, he has had 6 amateur fights he isn't claiming to be the best, he is improving every fight basically baby steps to build his experience up, AJ an Wilder fans are just hating on Tommy because he's Tysons brother , just back off people and give the lad his chance.

Tommy is leaning on his fame he gained by being Tyson's younger brother and from his TV appearance on Love Island.
Jake Paul is a complete bell end, but he's A side and it would be a bad move for Tommy not to take it. The publicity itself for taking part is great PR and if he beats Jake (which he should) it would be great for his career, money aside.

Tyson is a excellent boxer but he is also extremely tall. If Tyson Fury was 6 foot 3" he probably wouldn't be a world champion. Tommy looks like he could possibly be as good a boxer as Tyson but not looking like a world champion.

Tommy needed this kind of fight, to get some rounds in. He should try to get out as many times as he can, he's not had many amateur fights so this is very much an on the job learning experience. Forget about the Jake Paul fight and focus on mastering his craft. He has physical advantages which he could make good use of, given enough time.

People expect Tommy to be an amazing top fighter who can completely knock people out with ease and is perfect off the bat. But forget he has limited amateur experience and only done 5 pro fights he is learning on the job. usually fighters in the same stage of their career that Tommy is aren’t as well known and don’t have so many eyes on them so they can learn with no opinions before going in the deep end and fighting really tough opponents. This fight allowed him to know the areas he is good and where he needs improvement and work on that for his next fight.

Rahman made weight so that was another Paul lie his fans like to omit. Picked the conference so it would be an inconvenience for Fury training. Just goes and solidifies that Paul is a manipulative person by nature. His business dealings and personal life or crashing down with his lawsuits. He needs this more than Fury.
Jake hits harder and the fight is 8 rounds, Tommy struggled with 4.
Bloody hell, Tommy has been susceptible to an overhand a few times, in round 1 2 landed but they were feather punches, if this Jordan Grant had some more power it was game over for Tommy in round 1.

Jake fights at such a slow pace and likes to counter punch. He’s not slick enough to actually do effective damage to Tommy on the counter. They’ll exchange in the pocket round 1-3 and Jake will get clipped and finished.

only problem is he relies on it too much. Several right hands got him, I see that happening to him quite a bit, needs to tuck his chin a bit more and cover up. But yes he is good at guessing distance and his head movement is excellent

Yes, it's difficult to fight a boxer like Jordan Grant, he keeps on storming forward. Unorthodox boxer. Tommy had to avoid getting head bumped. Tommy did well. Tommy's got skill and capability. He can improve his footwork and head movement. Tommy definitely won. Tommy's got nice hand or hitting technique. Quick reactions too

My only concern, was he took too many punches on his chin.
