I worked in insurance for 5+ years. Almost without fail (there are a few exceptions), the tailgater is in the wrong. You must be able to stop in the space in front of you. I’m NZ on a road with line markings you must be able to stop in ½ the clear space in front of you and on unmarked roads, you must be able to stop in the clear space in front of you. I’m other words - there’s pretty much no excuse for rear ending someone as it means you were following too closely. Problem is if you leave the right gap - people merge into it thinking it’s for them when it’s really your safety gap. (People merging in and getting hit in the rear is one of the exceptions to the rule as it’s required by law for a person merging or changing lanes which is the same thing, to give way to the traffic in the lane they are moving into if there are line markings [if lanes merge without lines, the person behind must give way to the person in front - an exception to the exception] EVEN if their lane is ending. So if they cut in they are at fault). However when changing lanes or merging you just also indicate for sufficient time to allow others to see your intentions. None of this one blink as you move malarkey.
We know what is right vs wrong in the eyes of the insurance companies in relation to payouts, but do you also know that what the insurance companies think doesn't always equate to actual right vs wrong? Everyone knows some of the ridiculous ruling principles that you blindly follow without context, the world is not black and white.
I remember a time a couple of years ago in Queensland on holiday when we had a Lamborghini Huracan tailgate us. It was funny seeing how close he was behind us despite how much his car was valued.
I'm not sure that "[Ranger driver] ...doing what they do best which is tailgating other people..." is a fair and reasonable comment, Paul. But tailgating isn't great behavior by anyone. Nor is "break-checking" AKA demonstrating your "masculinity" by hitting the brakes because the other driver has upset you in some way. Perhaps the dashcam people can start another name-and-shame channel for brake-checkers.
I drive for a living and believe me, Ute drivers tailgate. That includes Ranger Drivers. Very few drive responsibly - but yes there are some and I applaud them.
@@jerrymyahzcat I agree re tailgating - I've had that done to me in the past, and not just ute drivers. I just thought Paul's comment was a little severe. All good at my end, I guess I wasn't being as clear as I could be.
if I remember correctly in the full video it starts off with the jag cutting off the ranger. the ranger shouldn't have been tailgating but the jag driver isn't completely innocent here.
I have seen the original video he was not 'cut off' requiring him to take evasive action. I do not advocate suck behavior but he is a South Australian so luckily he has lots of churches to confess his sins at.
When there is a rear-end incident like this, in 99.99% of cases the at-fault driver is the rear vehicle. Why? Because by law, you must leave sufficient distance between you and the vehicle in front to allow you to stop and avoid an impact. The only other time really when the front driver would be at fault is if they are deliberately and aggressively brake-checking whoever is behind them.
Almost without exception you rear end someone it's your fault. Regardless of the reason the front car braked or how hard, the tailgater failed to leave enough room to stop.
Even though there's road rage from both drivers, the Ranger driver is at fault following too close. Don't be complacent on the road and expect bad driving from others. Keep cool and having cam footage is great for police evidence.
It was the Ranger. He is guilty. He got what he deserves. Hey greetings from Panamá. Could you do a program comparing electronic hand brakes and mechanical ones in 4x4 s comparison. Nice program.
in heavier traffic it is polite to make a space when a car indicates. Most ford drivers(not all) like to close that gap when seeing the indicator. Ford drivers ARE the worst!
That wouldn't have happened to me because I would have left the idiot in the dust with my 2020 Vitara. That six speed transmission is really incredible.
A little impact like that and the airbags blew... typical Ford!
I live in Zambia, here we have tailgating idiots who drive Toyota hiluxes. They're a real menace on our roads
looks like the airbags wanted the slightest of excuse to escape..😅
Who was at fault? Why, the cyclist, of course. ;)
100%
Can you please make a video about all of your cars that you own please thanks
Rich pricks in Tesla's also tailgate.

there's a chance it just *looked* close, because of how low the front end is
he probably just looked close due to how sightlines in a car work
Don’t you own a ranger

@@metalmick99 so many people tailgate now but personally I find Utes (overall) the worst for it.
They never show the full video... 🤦♂️
Ranger driver?
@@jeeves6490 nope 😆
Stay off the roads at 3pm
Literally every Ranger driver (sorry Paul)

Don’t you own a ranger Paul?
He's exempt from the stereotype.
Same way he rips into Tesla drivers while owning one himself - Paul transcends mere stereotypes!
@@thiccboidexter2863 he's aware of the behaviour/stereotype, his response shows he's not one of them.
Tailgaters fault Paul
Have you seen the 30 seconds before where the cam car cuts him off and brake checks

At least the airbags work on the ford when it hits something, unlike the Hilux. Speaking from experience

Can you please review the new Toyota grand high lander

Instead of tailgaters here in the philippines ou might find some impatient drivers who have pick ups and suv's that have upgraded rims
It's usually Audi's doing this in the UK
It looks like passenger seat was empty, should not have exploded that airbag
Instant karma 😂
I’m ranger driver and don’t tailgate, in fact I hate it when people do
Not just dual cab utilities that tailgate
I wish Rangers came with an optional sticker pack, with a W to replace the R and a K to replace the G.
He who bimps is at fault all the time. No bump all good.
Dude was probably doing 40 in a 60
The ranger actually rammed him twice, the other car speed up to ram him. But in the vid it looks like the cammer brake checked him
Well deserved 😂
dual cabbie at fault ofcourse!!
It was the Ranger. He is guilty. He got what he deserves. Hey greetings from Panamá. Could you do a program comparing electronic hand brakes and mechanical ones in 4x4 s comparison. Nice program.
I hate duel cab utes.
I am not surprised down here in Victoria a lot of Ford Ranger drivers seem to be very angry people
The Jaguar merged into ford's line that very close to the ute, if you watch the full video.
Did the ranger accelerate to hit him or the other brake suddenly to be hit ? I’m not sure
At least he wasn't the typical BMW driver 😅
Quiet waiting for review of Subaru Crosstrek 🤗
In the full video the dash cam car cuts the Ranger off 10 seconds earlier.

You must be joking lol
Looks like the Jag brake checked him
Wouldn't hit if wasn't up his ass!
Keep a safe stopping distance and you won’t have a problem
From memory i think there was slowing traffic in front of the jag. Not 100% sure though
It actual "doesn't" look like a brake check at all. Keep an eye on the relative speed of the Subi left of picture.
No
Airbags should not go off like that.
Haha I love it when I see someone provide proof to their insurance company that they intentionally caused an accident 🤣
I thought this only happens in the Philippines😂
What a international wanker! Well done Paul for sharing.
