2:00 Same when I first started Amazon Flex 2 yrs ago I was delivering 40+ packages in 3 hours and I would drive like 25+ business miles plus another 5-10 more miles to get home so almost 30 miles... I'm happy that they changed it I might start doing it again this weekend
You only spent 2 hours and 10 minutes on the batch but accounting the time you drove to the warehouse, arriving early at the warehouse, driving back home, it's 3 hours
A co worker of mine says he's been making decent side hustle with Amazon fresh, i might have to give that a go sometime, but for know ill stick with doordash.
Today was my 2nd day with Amazon Flex. My block was 6:30-8 pm. I scanned in at 6:20. They FINALLY gave me my 4 deliveries at 7:57 pm (my block ends at 8 pm). I still scanned everything in. Five items wouldn't scan. I asked for help. Multiple times. Finally I put everything back on a rack and left at 8:46 pm. The crew inside the facility and supervisors are a joke. I don't care if they fire me. Ill probably never work for them again
Wow that's a huge pain, they had you wait at the facility for that long? I've never heard of that. Now even if they have NO packages for you to deliver you actually do still get paid which is cool. But yeah starting your shift minutes before you're supposed to be done is unacceptable.
Dude, props to you. I watched one of your DoorDash videos because I need a hobby that I can actually make money. I've watched a bunch of your other videos and I respect your driver hustle. I don't think I could do it full-time. You're a beast!
@@Kris-WT I signed up and Dashed for like an hour one day but haven't really done it consistently. I only had one order and they tipped well so it seemed easy enough.
I love your video brother, you have helped me out a lot. I’m in the New York area and I hate doing Amazon Flex close to my house, it sends me to a bunch of buildings with many no elevators. I usually take routes 25 mins away from my house, mainly houses
I always wait until the pay is $23/hour. Sometimes these shifts are hard (locked apartment buildings, climbing stairs, hidden houses and driveways, "hand delivery only"), being out there making $18/hour when I know I could have gotten more.. Makes me mad. I love doing a 3.5 hour shift in 2.5 and then being able to turn on my doordash and "double dip"
Those are good strategies, and I saw yesterday shifts for $23+/hr starting within 1 hour so it probably pays to be able to pick up shifts starting soon to get that extra pay.
You mention waiting until the pay is $23, is that the highest Flex will pay in any area? Only makes sense to drive when pay is at its peak. The only Flex warehouse in my area is an hour away, I live near Detroit MI. That’s quite a long distance to drive each day, so hopefully additional locations will open soon. Are you familiar with WholeFoods driver /food service? Just wondering how it compares to Amazon.
@@stevenmcvey7363 yes, Amazon pays $18/hour and slowly goes up (if no one takes the blocks) $23/hour is the most I've seen. I did a $80.50 block the other day 3.5 hours, lucked out cause I was given 8 packages.. .So it all depends. I've done while foods. They are usually (here in SLC) 2 hour blocks at $30, then the customer can tip online after. One time I ended up with $40 total and another $55 total. I have to drive 20 mins to get to a warehouse or a Whole Foods.. I've been sent over an hour away from my house. You never know what your gonna get. Oh and the last WF shift I did, not one delivery. I got $30 for hanging out in the parking lot.
I feel like I read something about splitting shifts and if that's allowed or would get you deactivated. You'd have to both be logged into the profile if you're going to split up? Hm not sure if that would work.
@@Offierjenkins10 Right but how are they going to know where to deliver unless they're logged in as well on a separate phone and I'm not sure the app would let you do that? We're assuming they're running the shift from the last stop and you're running from the first stop so you'd be driving separate vehicles? Seems like a mess and probably not allowed haha. Because remember it's not enough for them to simply know which stops to make they have to scan out the packages when making the delivery.
@@YourDriverMike But if one is driving and the other is running the packages, it may take less time. Switch it up halfway through the packages so one is not doing all the grunt work.
You get to pick up blocks when they become available. So basically you pick your own shifts if they are available and nobody tells you when you have to work a shift it’s all up to you

National City and Chula Vista are good warehouses, Poway is okay, but Rancho Bernardo aka sub-same day can have lots of miles, sub-same day is a crap shoot, there's no specific area, like the vans have. All sub-same day is Flex, I've driven over 100 miles and 170+ from my home to warehouse, the route and back home. I've done two routes in a day before put over 300 miles then $70.00 to refill my gas, they were paying $45.00 an hour at that time from before black Friday and through the week of Cyber Monday. They've since drop as far down as $15.00 an hour, now they are for the most part paying $21.50 an hour, which for sub-same day with the milage between deliveries, is not worth it.
What kind of money would you make for Uber Eats or Door Dash during 5-8pm in comparison to Amazon Flex, time sounds like prime hours for food delivery?
FYI you never go to your shift so early. the best is to go at the last second as possible. why? because there will always be a chance that you won't have packages assigned for you and you are still paid by amazon
So how is it in downtown with minimal if any free parking? Hazards and park in a loading zone ? Or just need find parking? DT deterred me away anytime I get a DD for there cuz of those reasons. I been upset with door dash lately though been wanting to switch up to something else like Uber eats or even amazing flex like you just shown. How do you handle anything that goes to downtown? Hello, with Flex it's really the luck of the draw, as mentioned you won't know where you're delivering until you scan your route code. Asking for a new route code (new rack of packages) is not allowed and I've heard that can get you deactivated. If you have to deliver downtown you just have to bite the bullet and complete the route, I would take as much time as you need to park legally as it's not worth it to block in cars/gates etc.
Loved this video! I’ve been doing instacart since April and have been on the waitlist for Flex until last week when I check and was finally able to finish everything. Today my background check completed so I’m good to go. I live in Baltimore now, used to live in SD, but anyways it has me working in Annapolis which is probably 20 miles from me. So the one question I have is when do the blocks become available? It’s 6:05 pm here so I’m guessing that’s why there aren’t any right now?
Good question, I don't have an exact time but generally in the AM is when shifts become available for the day. You can also add your availability in the app which may contribute to this.
Man I didn't get a vest....or anything at all lol. One time I had a 3 HR block with 2 packages on a Sunday. I took on Amazon flex over doordash or any other delivery app, it's great..two downsides though. #1 blocks are sometimes hard to get(specially if people use bots to get them first) #2 when it send you to the mountains/vineyards and you loose signal there, gotta be super careful. Other than that it's great guaranteed money.
Hi Osar, great points. I remember one shift was similar, I had like 8 packages or something like that, you still get paid for the whole shift! But opposite of that I've had tons of packages that took be a touch longer than the shift as well.
I live in Richmond VA. I’m 6.5 mo pregnant & a stay at home mom. Some advice, Would you think this is something I could manage, temporarily? I have done door dash for about a month, obviously the pay isn’t the same (& as good) as Amazon. I feel like I need to make a little bit extra money & I’m losing interest in doordash .
amazon flex they deactivated my account last year , so I did appeal many tines but keep saying they won’t reactivate my account again, what should I do ?
Question? When you scan the bar code does the app puts the deliveries packages in the delivery order or you have to put it in order yourself or you just figure it out which package to deliver first and so on and on...?
Hello I work in Amazon warehouse that actually gives you the flex packages and to answer your question you deliver them in the order you choose it’ll give you recommendations for closer deliveries but if you want you can deliver them in any order.
I dont agree with youre statement and much less with the way you put it as if its a piece of cake how you can deliver the packages in the time block you're given, what I do agree with is that Amazon should increase the time they give you to complete the deliveries for each of those time blocks, realistically, its only fair to the drivers, there are so many things that interfere and are not planed, like bad addresses, malfunctioning of the amazon flex app, addresses that are not as they show them on the map and not being able to use the gate codes in big appartment complexes because the gate remains open, not to mention that once youre in the apartment complex and you finally find the unit that you're looking for because the order of the apartments do not show on your GPS so you have to go in and figure it aout and a lot of times the buildings are not appropriately marked and if you get there at night time it just makes matters worst, then you try to finalize the delivery and it keeps on asking you to enter the gate code and thats not all, it also asks for you to go inside of the circle in your amazon flex map because the apartment ( your actual point of delivery) wasnt within that area it showed you on the map. Those are just a few of the obstacles you encounter while making your deliveries on a time block, I can go on but in a nut shell, thats my experiance with amazone flex and these are some factors wich lead me to believe that amazon is underpaying us independent contractors to do their amazon flex deliveries.
Thanks for the feedback LB, this video comes after from completing 21 total Flex shifts. I've experienced a lot of of problems you mention but they've been few and far between and I'll typically only have 1 or 2 small hang ups during shifts if that. As with a lot of these apps experiences and markets vary but at least from my experience Flex has been mostly problem free.
depends on the area your in. u gotta keep looking every now and then on the apps for the blocks and im sure youll find them. 3 hr blocks mostly 5 to 8 evening
Hi Kathleen, I've done shifts into the night yes. Different animal as it's tough to find the right building sometimes yet you also don't want to be shining flashlights at people's homes.
I have my first delivery block in a few hours. What about when a private residence has their front gate closed? Do I open it and go to their front porch? Or do I just leave the package behind the gate? Also, what about an apartment complex and the gate code isn’t listed in the app?
Good question, if there's a gate at street level I'm going to enter to deliver to the front door (check the notes for any preferred drop off location as well). If you do happen to find someone in that courtyard area just announce yourself, "Hello, I have an Amazon delivery for [CUSTOMER NAME]" otherwise continue to make the delivery to the front door. It can feel a bit awkward but you're there with reason. Fun fact I delivered to a home via a front gate today that was on the market for $4,195,000!
I’m a cover driver for ups. Some days I don’t have a route to cover. This could potentially be an option I take for off days. I will have to look into your door dash videos though and compare the two. This would be more what I’m used to. Question: Do you have the option of driving more than 1 route?
@@YourDriverMike its now 9 shifts per day which is crazy i dont think people hit that limit unless they sign up for multiple 2 hour prime shifts the whole day but even then thats 18 hours so i doubt it
Hi Arianys, that's a big problem on Flex and I've heard some people use "block grabbers" or software that automatically grabs shifts which I think is unfair. Best thing I've done on Flex is constantly refresh the app and grab/accept a block immediately. Unfortunately that's not super effective. Flex has seemingly tried to alleviate this by sending drivers reserved shifts.
Good question, I could but there's no incentives to really earn MORE than $18/hr unless there's incentive pay. That and the workload is much harder than DD imo
Hi Mando, not sure if they're bringing on drivers here but join the waitlist. No code you just drive in and show your ID at the check-in kiosk to get your route
Only a few times on Amazon Flex but that could happen with any delivery app where you approach the door. None that actually go out but if that's a concern (loose dogs) I would definitely carry pepper spray
I used to do Amazon flex , but after I tried DoorDash, never comeback. Now, you expect too many packages, it will take you more time than assigned block. Terrible cardio exercise ... Deal with complex apartments... Wrong packages have to return it back. They steal flex drivers tips in whole foods.. bad reputation company .. too much gas...bye Flex... Bye Felicia
@@careeradvancement3726 I do DoorDash at least 2$/mile. Many times 3$ up to 5$. An hour of DoorDash / UberEats is at least 25$. On the other hand , at Amazon flex, you do 20$ per hour, not much difference from DoorDash, but you put many miles on ur vehicle. Extra physical work , too many apartments. Hassle of going to pickup station. Wrong and undelivered packages , you have to return them back to the station. Dangerous areas, the app sucks, has to be connected to Bluetooth all the time. If you want my advice , do Whole Foods on Amazon flex , that is it. 15$/hour + bonus tips. Disadvantage, hard to find. Download flex alert app and keep ur eyes on Whole Foods. DoorDash is better than any job I have ever worked since I landed the United States, 7 years ago.
Hi mate , I completed my application all item also the last step background ,but i don’t know what I give to do now , there’s nothing in app to do Thanks
Hello did you get confirmation that the application was completed and/or the background check has started? Once you pass the background check you'll received an email of next steps.
Question, if you are currently an amazon employee and sign up for flex do they deactivate your account? It happened to me and can I try to get reactivated if I'm no longer a employee there?
I would just apply on amazon flex and wait to see what they do. I feel they do not cross reference anything. You will Probably pass through to be able to drive flex for them regardless.
Hello, yes it's a good idea to have supplemental insurance as your personal plan may not cover using your vehicle for business purposes. Most major carriers have supplemental plans and it's not too expensive in my opinion.
Hi Denis, when you're on a shift and click on the next stop you should get a pop up prompt asking which nav you'd like to use. I'm using an iPhone with Flex app Version 2.65.11.3754
Once you're activated you'll see available orders which will also list warehouses. If you're not activated yet I would check reddit to see if others brought up the subject or ask.
I don't think there is any requirement for how many hours you need to work in a week. I think you just need to pick up a shift here and there every so often so you remain active and don't get deactivated from the system. I just started doing it and have done maybe 1 or 2 max so far a week.
As long as it's a 4-door "midsize or larger vehicle" you should get approved but I've even seen smaller sportier cars on Flex, they don't verify the vehicle you bring to the warehouse.

What if you have to go back to the wear house to drop off a package that was undeliverable how do u know the address back to the wear house??
I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee does it matter the type of car you drive or no?
I don’t think so
I dont agree with youre statement and much less with the way you put it as if its a piece of cake how you can deliver the packages in the time block you're given, what I do agree with is that Amazon should increase the time they give you to complete the deliveries for each of those time blocks, realistically, its only fair to the drivers, there are so many things that interfere and are not planed, like bad addresses, malfunctioning of the amazon flex app, addresses that are not as they show them on the map and not being able to use the gate codes in big appartment complexes because the gate remains open, not to mention that once youre in the apartment complex and you finally find the unit that you're looking for because the order of the apartments do not show on your GPS so you have to go in and figure it aout and a lot of times the buildings are not appropriately marked and if you get there at night time it just makes matters worst, then you try to finalize the delivery and it keeps on asking you to enter the gate code and thats not all, it also asks for you to go inside of the circle in your amazon flex map because the apartment ( your actual point of delivery) wasnt within that area it showed you on the map.
As with a lot of these apps experiences and markets vary but at least from my experience Flex has been mostly problem free.
how are the profits with a 4 cylinder german car, I have a 328i similar gas mileage and stuff wanted to see if its worth it
Love the insomniac mask 😷 bro! 🤙🏾
Much appreciated! #TeamBasscon
Does amazon flex have am app
What are the requirements as well?
Unfortunately there is neither Amazon Flex nor Amazon itself in Switzerland :/
Question, can u work this job only on weekends if u wanted to?
depends on the area your in. u gotta keep looking every now and then on the apps for the blocks and im sure youll find them. 3 hr blocks mostly 5 to 8 evening
I usually follow you with Door Dash lol. Amazon Flex sounds interesting. Do you have to deliver at night though?
Hi Kathleen, I've done shifts into the night yes. Different animal as it's tough to find the right building sometimes yet you also don't want to be shining flashlights at people's homes.
Yes. Especially with the crime rate in St Louis 😱 Sadly, I am on the waiting list :)
Woah. I definitely would have felt awkward going beyond that gate! Thanks for the answer!
How do you apply ?
Did they get rid of where you can update your availability?
You can filter available shifts by time and station but I'm not seeing any general availability settings
I’m a cover driver for ups. Some days I don’t have a route to cover. This could potentially be an option I take for off days. I will have to look into your door dash videos though and compare the two. This would be more what I’m used to.
Question: Do you have the option of driving more than 1 route?
Hi Johnny thanks for watching, you can sign up for multiple shifts in one day, yes. I believe the limit may be two shifts per day.
@@YourDriverMike its now 9 shifts per day which is crazy i dont think people hit that limit unless they sign up for multiple 2 hour prime shifts the whole day but even then thats 18 hours so i doubt it
When you say "just put your 4 ways on" do you mean your hazzard lights?
yes
Can u work more then 3 hrs?
I would like to know how can I get more blocks I can’t get nothing in my area . Do you have some advise ?
Hi Arianys, that's a big problem on Flex and I've heard some people use "block grabbers" or software that automatically grabs shifts which I think is unfair. Best thing I've done on Flex is constantly refresh the app and grab/accept a block immediately. Unfortunately that's not super effective. Flex has seemingly tried to alleviate this by sending drivers reserved shifts.
Would you do this full time over door dash?
Good question, I could but there's no incentives to really earn MORE than $18/hr unless there's incentive pay. That and the workload is much harder than DD imo
How many hours can you work everyday and can you work everyday ?
From what I've read there seems to be a limit of 8 hours per day and most likely a weekly hourly limit as well.
@@YourDriverMike thank you man
I have a 2005 Honda Accord that runs like new. Can I do Flex with it or do they require a more modern car?
No that should work!
@@YourDriverMike thank you!
@@YourDriverMike do you think a coupe could work? It has back seats
Hey Mike, what about a promo in terms of extra cash for a particular rate of deliveries/month when you sign up
nvm, didn't figure you had all of em' in description, yah
Thanks for watching!
Hi I'm in San Diego I haven't done amazon flex jet, but do you have a tip on how to arrange package for delivery? Thanks
i am in north CA, there is number on each package, and it is in sequence...i believe it will be the same thing in SD
how many blocks can you do a day ?
I believe 3 is the max
Goof video! Just one question, You can do Flex on a coupe car?
For Amazon.com orders no, for Prime Now shifts probably, but I don't know if they'll onboard you for just Prime Now deliveries.
If you got a hatchback coupe like a Scion TC then you have you best delivery car lol
how much money a day do you make?
On Flex the flat pay is minimum $18/hr (that is subject to change), with promotional pay I've see shifts around $23/hr
oOooo Insomniac fellow raver? :D
x4 EDCLV 👊🏻👊🏻
I’m in sandiego I think I will start doing this 😮 do they give you the code to go through the gates?
Hi Mando, not sure if they're bringing on drivers here but join the waitlist. No code you just drive in and show your ID at the check-in kiosk to get your route
Thanks for the video man! have you ever dealt with dogs?
Only a few times on Amazon Flex but that could happen with any delivery app where you approach the door. None that actually go out but if that's a concern (loose dogs) I would definitely carry pepper spray
@@YourDriverMike Definitely carry a gun.
@@lorettayoung3088 don’t shoot a dog lmao
I used to do Amazon flex , but after I tried DoorDash, never comeback. Now, you expect too many packages, it will take you more time than assigned block.
Terrible cardio exercise ... Deal with complex apartments... Wrong packages have to return it back.
They steal flex drivers tips in whole foods.. bad reputation company .. too much gas...bye Flex... Bye Felicia
So, you think door dash is better if so how? I have to agree that Amazon is ripping us off
@@careeradvancement3726 I do DoorDash at least 2$/mile.
I just got approved to be a delivery driver in my car.
I’m nervous to start🤷🏻♀️
How’s it been going?
Hi mate , I completed my application all item also the last step background ,but i don’t know what I give to do now , there’s nothing in app to do
Thanks
Hello did you get confirmation that the application was completed and/or the background check has started? Once you pass the background check you'll received an email of next steps.
Question, if you are currently an amazon employee and sign up for flex do they deactivate your account? It happened to me and can I try to get reactivated if I'm no longer a employee there?
I would just apply on amazon flex and wait to see what they do. I feel they do not cross reference anything. You will Probably pass through to be able to drive flex for them regardless.
How salary
Thanks, I want to give a try. The link to Amazon Flex, sent me to Amazon Flex. But, where do I put your reference code for u to get a bonus?
Hi Steven, there's no affiliate program with Flex that's just the general sign up link.
@@YourDriverMike No referral code just like the others.
What kind kf shades are you wearing?
Only the best $8 sunglasses lol I need some nicer ones but they get the job done: amzn.to/2FYw71D
No way lol Honestly thought they were some name brand and be around $200-300. You rock them. Guess I'll have to get a pair for only $8!
So Do I have to have additional car insurance ?
Hello, yes it's a good idea to have supplemental insurance as your personal plan may not cover using your vehicle for business purposes. Most major carriers have supplemental plans and it's not too expensive in my opinion.
It says I'll get an email in a few weeks. There's no way to spend up the process to start working for Flex?
just got my email to apply for open position waiting on my driver’s license to verify than background check 🤞🏽
@@flameinhale have they verified it yet. I wonder how long verification takes
@@naturallyme3683 yes it took the next day now i’m waiting for background test says up to 5 days
@@flameinhale ok thx for the update. Hopefully my drivers license process tomorrow

Yes because it won't last long when they open up hiring. Join the interest list so they'll email you when they're ready
Uber Man Tampa hahah Scott! I’m trying to sign up for when I go to Buffalo! Chris said he likes it! So he gave me is zip code to try again! 😁😁
Any tips on how to drive for Amazon flex? I have been on the waitlist for over an year in Dallas tx
Hello, for tips on driving make sure to check out my playlist on Flex: ruclips.net/video/kg-Zu4UR4zg/видео.html
Me too waiting it must be a long waitlist
Hi Mike, how do i get to the Google map while using Flex app.Thanks.
Hi Denis, when you're on a shift and click on the next stop you should get a pop up prompt asking which nav you'd like to use. I'm using an iPhone with Flex app Version 2.65.11.3754
Your Driver Mike thanks i really appreciate.
How do I check of there is an Amzon warehouse in Fresno ?
Once you're activated you'll see available orders which will also list warehouses. If you're not activated yet I would check reddit to see if others brought up the subject or ask.
hi is it available in italy??
Hi Ahmed, to my knowledge it's US only but check on your browser and search "Amazon Flex"
flex sucks in my area. You have to deal with long distances, dogs, country house hard to find, people pointing you with a gun. So I'll pass.
😅
lmfaoooo
How many hrs they require you to work a week
I don't think there is any requirement for how many hours you need to work in a week. I think you just need to pick up a shift here and there every so often so you remain active and don't get deactivated from the system. I just started doing it and have done maybe 1 or 2 max so far a week.
I have [ Nissan centre 2018 SV ] I do Not really know if this will work????
As long as it's a 4-door "midsize or larger vehicle" you should get approved but I've even seen smaller sportier cars on Flex, they don't verify the vehicle you bring to the warehouse.
How can I find information to be hired and try it ?
More info here: flex.amazon.com
@@YourDriverMike thank you for information Mike 😃
I been working for a delivery company already in CA
But I am wanting to try Amazon delivery for some extra money 💰💸 you have amazing content on RUclips easy to understand
Mike I tried to download this amazon flex and it send me to my regular amazon account. Can you please help me. Thank you
This was from their activation email? They have to send you a special invite link to download the app I believe. If so and it's still not working I would message support: amazonflex-support@amazon.com
You must have an email not associated with Amazon.
Do you have to be 18 and older??
21+ for Amazon Flex
Looking like a crossing guard 😂😂😂
Honestly part of me signed up for the shift for the new Amazon Flex vest and it wasn't even in stock lol
Did you lose any weight doing this?
I would never wear the vest looks stupid
Hi guys, Do anyone know how to sign up amazon flex in Las Vegas ? Thank you very much!
Hi Joe, doesn't look like Amazon is hiring in Vegas but perhaps you can sign up for the waitlist: flex.amazon.com
@@YourDriverMike took 8 months, just got in today!
@@YourDriverMike I live in Vegas . I do Doordash and meet server Amazon flex drivers while on the same delivery.
Dang this seems amazing but the only downside is you have to be 21 or older. I’m only 19 :(
That is true Michael, it is a touch more involved. Really the only delivery app that’s 21. Rideshare is 21 but that’s a different niche
