My gf has been delivering early morning like 3:30 to 8 am. Some of the drop off requests have been:
Don't deliver until 7.
Drop off behind fence to backyard.
Drop off at leasing office (which is closed)
Ring the doorbell and wait until someone answers. (@5am???)
You'd think there would be some additional form the customer needs to fill out when ordering next day delivery.
And I leave the packages anyway. They do way too much.
I've had a few deliveries where I've had to leave a package at their gate because they didn't give me a key code or leave any instructions what so ever. I just got dinged because someone said they didn't receive their package. I've only had to return 1 to the warehouse. I'm not sure if I should start just taking those packages back or not. Some people say they are getting dinged for returning the packages to the warehouse so I don't know what to do.
@nicolehorsley2603 yes if you take a package backto the warehouse, you do get dinged. If the customers says you didn't follow their instructions you get dinged, even if the instructions were impossible at the time of delivery. They can actually claim they didn't get it even if they did and you get dinged. The system is setup to funnel through drivers.

Amazon Flex needs to get more attention with the drivers, the algorithm needs more attention to determine if it’s worth the route vs. time
I feel like we as flex drivers do not have anybody behind the scenes to advocate for us we have no one speaking up for us. We cannot decline a route even if we feel like it will not be beneficial for us. I picked a quick block for 3hrs for $75 when I arrived at the station I was given a cart with over 45 packages and the 1st delivery was 45mins away. I called support and was told I can return the route only to see my standing go down to at risk. We are basically being told that we are not allowed to decline a route. I don't work for Amazon I am contracted by them, its my car that they are basically renting they don't pay to get your car fixed or pay for gas. I'm really thinking about dropping this side hustle. I get more benefits from delivering for Uber Eats. They don't tell you we have purchase our own materials that we may need such as signage and other delivery materials
Its a modern day slavery without the chains.
Helll nah man😂😂 this got to be once a while. I was planning to apply for it too😭😭
@@foodreview3187dont get demotivated by outlier events. If it were always this bad: people won’t be doing it
I also did a 3-hour driving route and it also took me 45 minutes away for my first stop . I was out in the country farmland / woods on gravel roads .I told my husband if my car was to break down or my tire went flat there was no way for me to call anybody out in the middle of nowhere.
New Flex driver here, today did my first block which was for 3.5 hours at $73. Thankfully I did NO had to drive that far for my first delivery. BUT 80% of the 40 stops had Beware of dog signs and one stop DID not had any sign and a dog was lose without any fence. At the end I spent 5 hours using this stupid Amazon app trying to contact the costumers to come and get the package at their fences. You bet I will NOT continue doing this modern slavery gig and get mauled for 70 bucks by a pitbull. Here I come again doordash and ubereats!! At least there the costumer IS expecting you and if not it's easier to contact them.
I like being watched and having people see me leave the packages because it doesn’t make me look like a thief or somebody that shouldn’t be there
no one comes close to your transparency and likeable nature . wish you all the success mike - love your channel. you and your brother were obviously raised very well as respectable and honorable men. parents must be proud
"Its ok. Come on in the gate. He doesnt bite"...all while sparky goes nuts behind the with slober flying, 50 teeth showing and door ready to flying off the hinges 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I got deactivated for returning packages to wholefood and they never marked down as I returned them. I forgot to take a picture of the order so it was basically their word versus mines, well they won since they didn't even bother to investigate it. Must document everything yourselr with them is the only evidence they will look at.
Question when you pick up from whole foods do they have an area where the bags are ready for you?
@@spetteruti Yes, when you check in you will receive a notification with your route. You need to wait until your app shows "go inside" and follow the Amazon Flex signs which will take you to a room (usually at the back of store) with coolers and shelves filled with bags. Look for the bags that indicates your app and scan them. Make sure you have a shopping cart since you'll carry 15 - 40 bags. Good Luck!
The pick up station is my pet peeve. They mess most of the things up (ie wrong missing packages, mislabeling boxes as envelopes, putting boxes on my cart that are not in the itinerary, putting 4 hours of work on a 3 hour cart) and they never have to answer for any of it. They just shrug it off if you bring it to their attention.
Also it says right in the app if a package is too big for your vehicle you can leave it at the station. Today they threatened to take my route if I did that…I put the box in my passenger seat and it kept falling on me as I drove and blocked my mirrors. I got it done, but man were they rude about me wanting to leave the one package there. The item inside did not need a box that big either. I have found the pick up station is most to blame for any negative things about this app.
They get on my nerves too. You show up for three hours of work and here they come with 67 packages. I’m like all that better be for one person 😂
@@betterthanemril988 Yea they have been good out my way on not overloading me lately. Out of the two stations here in my area, the big one is notorious for sending you out with business routes during non business hours forcing you to have to go back after your shift.
And they insist it has to be attempted even if you catch it before you leave. Like No the f**k it doesn’t they are just to proud to admit they do dumb things at times. The blatant pointless inconveniences are what bother me most as of late. Gas is expensive enough without an extra 20 to 30 miles back to the station.
Thank You for all of your videos that you did.
I actually like doing Flex. The freedom to not have to go like a normal W2 job. I set my alarm early then I decide if I want to go or not. I make sure it's 45 mins beforehand. I also like not having to do it with other people, per se. Just do a good job and it'll be fine. The only thing lately is sub same day has sent me 30+ mins away, so I try to get a good set rate. I never understand how people can have another person in the car with them. Anyway.. Great video!
So far flex is a good part time job for my husband he always waits until the price is higher than $100 dollars . Sometimes there’s a block of $200 plus . For 3.5 hours so far so good . He knows that Amazon flex is not responsible for his suv . That was on the agreement that you all signed anyway .Read all the small print before signing up .
Mike….I’m trying something NEW on Amazon Flex. I have a few days more until I’m done. Will share with you on what I’m doing 👍🏼
Thanks i am thinking about signing up here in Australia. You’ve answered some if my questions
They should increase the pay ,cause fuel is expensive, and when u are delivering on Amazon flex, the hardest thing is to delivery in those big complex, example building H number 229,those deliveries take more time, cause it take a while to find the letter complex, and sometimes u don't have a access code gate,so just be aware of that, the one delivery, sometimes takes like 20 minutes ,and sometimes times u are gonna do 30 stops and 4 or 5 are those building complex units apartments.
They should. Something tells me they wont anytime soon.
They do whole downtown routes with 40 secure buildings in 4 hours, it's ridiculous
I’ve quit twice before. Politely dropped them packages right back to the warehouse and for some reason my standings are still good.
People say if you mark packages as returned you'll get dinged but it just seems random which ones they pick to ding you for or not. You can do the same thing twice for the same reasons and only one time you'll get in trouble
I rejected a route many miles away from me and was actually paid. I don't know what that was about.
It’s not easy to get deactivated people that say they were deactivated after one incident are usually not telling the whole story I once didn’t show up to 4 blocks in a row and didn’t get deactivated the main thing is missing packages. Or packages not received or returned that will get you deactivated and even then not after one occurrence but multiple
It sucks that ur start time 4am but the package already say late like tf!!! I always try to hide it...to get some good points and ratings
One thing to note is the labels I wish I knew how to read the 14-(17) and so on my first time. My car was a mess but now I have a good system
Great video
I quit today after 5 years of delivering. Mainly due to routes getting worse and access problems. I’ve been with Amazon flex since they started in Atlanta, but it’s not worth it anymore. I’ve returned packages only twice / this week and last week - due to access problem. Not to mention they’ve been paying $18/hr the entire time unless there’s a surge. But either way, I’m done.
That's $18/hr in your own car?

I don’t know if anyone commented on this but the other BIGGEST DON’T DO is please don’t keep canceling blocks when it is pass the 45 minute window or just missing a block because you fell asleep or you forgot. You will get kicked off so fast and good luck 🍀 trying to get back into the program. This is from my personal experience. If I had to give it a percentage …10% chance of getting back in.
I was at risk bcuz of canceling blocks too late, but I'm back at fair. I sometimes dread going at 4a.m bcuz it's dark & not knowing what area i will be in. I h8 being somewhere where I can't see thr address bcuz there's no street lights. It's the worse.
I learnt IT WAS FOREVER AGO :) plus valuable 6 tips.
Mike, sign up for Deliver That/EZ Catering. Good payouts to keep busy before lunch time,
Did it for the first time yesterday. I picked up at the Sewickley location & they gave me TWO deliveries downtown during the arts festival!! Smh it look me like an hour and 15 mins just to deliver those two packages due to the streets being closed. I ended all the way in Murrysville an hour and a half after my shift. So it was a 40min drive to the Warehouse, then completed deliveries and had a 40min drive back home. NEVER AGAIN. Plus app issues. I could have made way more money on another app for the amount of time I spent delivering. It was horrible
Same thing happened to me in Downtown Tampa! The Lightning are in the Stanley Cup finals 🤦♀️…
In the same area. Have not done an AF package yet because the blocks are always only after 2pm. Where are the morning blocks in Pittsburgh?
Yes they do suck. I live in the UK. When I first started which wasn't long ago I was just doing everything. Blindly. I realised after the first week that I have to put myself first because they do not care. For grocery you see the address immediately. So I started asking them to remove some addresses 1 because my car is small and can't hold a lot and 2 because they were sending me to cities that were outside of my delivery city which I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR. And still get paid if they remove the whole thing or if they just remove a few addresses. For logistics it's hard because it is monitored mire strictly you can't see the address untill you scan the route. I'm still trying to figure a way around this.
Working with amazon these days are horrible. Everything is changed after gas price rise. Now they sent us to so far area with low pay. I’m working in Fargo ND and really think to leave this work after almost 4 years
I feel you. I am happy to do my best for them but they don’t seem to care if you get put out in any way when it comes to your vehicles well being. There are no f**ks given about your wear and tear on your truck or car. Even when it’s like one delivery you’d rather not make they act like you straight up don’t wanna do the job
Thank you.
Problem I have in Denver is customers say they never received pkgs and the support team is gawd awful.
Definitely want to take your pictures.
Try leaving the packages somewhere they can't be seen easily and ring the doorbell everytime unless it's before 8am or after 9pm.
Thank you sir just had an interview for Amazon seems like it's a lot of responsibility and felt I was being watched going to into the building with all the cameras feel like they hacked my phone and are watching me rn what have I got myself into anyways great video just subscribed very informative 👍
Stay off the coke! 🤦♂️

I think it depends on the warehouse. I returned a package the other day at 11:30pm.
U just anit get u yet look for the email
Question: when you get a block for wholefoods, does the store shop for the items? Or are we walking around the store gathering items?
Whole Foods has shoppers. The bags are already ready on shelves or in coolers or freezers (not the same thing!). It is much better than Fresh where the bags are on a huge cart. Usually though the Flex Whole Foods area is pretty tight. Be sure to take 2 carts with you. Orders never fit in just one cart.
About 90 percent of my routes are 45 minutes away from the warehouse. Most my trips are around 120 miles minimum. I'm not sure if there's a way to request closer routes or not.
I drive for a DSP. Been bitten twice the last couple of weeks. Started carrying pepper spray.
FLOR from the UK Traffic is an issue. I arrive one time but customers always complain.
How many miles per shift do you average? Do you deduct the cost per mile to maintain your vehicle? How much are you really making after maintenance? That’s why I left Uber.
How I will change my block if it’s too much packages?
I got bit a couple days ago. Use your best judgment
Thanks James
So what about car size that you own … based on size packages 30-60 delivery stops… do u get to choose the load that can fit in your car???
No they recommend a bigger vehicle like an SUV or van
I got a ticket went to the warehouse and dropped everything off, going to see if Amazon works with me if not then it’s definitely not worth driving for them in LOS Angeles

I always like your channel thanks for keeping updated on what’s going on with this Uber ,I Do Uber eats here in nyc 🗽 on my vehicle 🚗 it’s crazy driving in the city plus customers don’t want to understand what we go through they don’t understand that if we park our vehicle double park you get tickets customers are rude and crazy lately , Uber eats the pay is way too low don’t know if I can keep up doing this ,guess what I received a promotion on Uber eats it say if you make 3 trips we’ll give you $ 5 extra , are you freaking Kidding me , I’m frustrated with this stupidity, Uber CEO is full of garbage, we as a driver and doing this GIG job we deserve more we deserve better pay because everything is very expensive gas ⛽️ is very expensive . This is very frustrating.
I know how you feel.
I just got deactivated from uber eats yesterday because I cancelled too many order but do they expected me to accept 6-10 dollar/ 50 mins trips? they gave me this kinda trips multiple times a day and gas price is killing me lol. Now i'm signing up for flex but damn, it took 12-13 days for background check and i'm going back to being unemployed lmao.
@@NMamoru I have Amazon Flex but I’m located it Nyc Bronx and Amazon Flex stations are all in Brooklyn and I’m not going to drive all the way down to Brooklyn that’s to far . If Amazon flex had location in the Bronx area then for me I would do Amazon Flex.
I've had one that wanted you to call them upon delivery. If I'm out at 5 a.m I'm not calling any1. They better deal with it. They get alerts soon as u make the delivery. Amazon does too much & doesn't pay enuf to compensate for gas.
So, I inadvertently uploaded a pic of the ceiling my face wasn't completely in the block I was terminated... what can I do?
I wish they would tell you if it's a city run because some of us don't understand how the city works. Finding somewhere to park at location, etc.....
I tried to sign up a few weeks ago, but they are not taking on new drivers. They added me to the waiting list. Anyone know how long that waiting list could be?
I'm on my second week and can barely get through 120 packages without getting rescued lol

Hey Mike I was wondering why I never see any blocks that start before 2pm
The DSPs in branded vans load up as late as 1 pm in many stations. Flex routes start after branded vans.
It depends on the area. I have seen offers as early as 4am and as late as 10pm but it was a mix of prime, whole foods, etc.
My first time on flex I was late finishing my block? Is that bad?
I’ve never had any issues. Flex is one of my favorites because of the stability and you know how much you’re getting paid. I always finish early. If you’re going over the time, then that’s a skill issue. As for getting sent far away, I don’t love it, but it does help add miles towards the tax deduction. Definitely a 5/5 to me.
I've had a few blocks (mostly rural) that went over the allotted time despite finishing most of my other blocks early. Don't agree with you.
I don’t fully agree with you
I had to return most of my packages because one the package I could not deliver and the app did not offer option of can not deliver so I could move on to next delivery so I couldn't continue so I returned the rest of the packages which was about 40
I had the same issue last week then my standing was dropped from Great to At Risk.
I was thinking about doing this. 2 years ago I actually delivered for a dsp delivering in the actual prime vans. it was a horrible experience. bad gps on the app, I actually got fired for bad performance 29 days into the job. im still have mixed feelings if i wanna do the flex thing
I was delivering in a prime van under a dsp as well....worst job of my life. I ended up quitting in the middle of a route. I told dispatch to send someone out to get the rest of the packages because I was heading in to get my car😂
You aren't kidding about the dogs, most were friendly but this one dog...so glad the family worked together after it started getting mean. Had asked someone with experience handling dogs their advice depending on body language how to stay safe...this dog however...only thing I could think of in the moment...climb on top the amazon van...quickly
another delivery had instructions to leave it in the backyard under a deck which still remember the entire time walking back thinking if someone jumps out...wtf
This company is wack they will literally only take the customer side and the driver will be held responsible for issues that are not in their control and it's messed up because I've been doing flex for 3 years now with almost no issues but recently customers are complaining of not receiving their packages and amazon dose little to nothing to resolve the issue they just blame the driver it's not right. I'm currently at a fair rating because customers like to get things for free and now my job is impacted and amazon doesn't care nor do they take the time to care. Time to find another job, the customer is NOT always right and amazon being scammed is not the drivers problem and I shouldn't be held responsible. As a flex driver your job is to pick up from the station and drop to the customer front door or notes location period. It's not complicated. Flex is still a mess years later time to move on!
The other thing they don't tell you is that Driver's Support is a big time suck. I now avoid calling Driver's support at all costs as they just waste your time and don't help. The most common reason people call Driver's Support is that a driver can't get access to a delivery location, typically a gated apartment community. I figured out how to get things done without using them.
That's almost every gig job support.
Yea It happened to me today. They just say go undelivered and take it bac lmao. Like tf smh. Especially the transfer to whole foods like tf u schedule me to go 7 8 am but they open at 9 smh. Waste time going bac n fourth with clerks.
What do you do in that certain cases?
@@lokokrz.gaming If I finish early and not too far away, I return to try to deliver, otherwise I just mark the package as unable to deliver because it will be too late (you don't need to call drivers Support for that) and return it to the station.
@@catbangs276 ugh honestly the returning back to the station is what I would dread. I just did my first block today with flex it was alright beside the gate codes of some places being wrong. Any suggestions for when this happens?
Hello so if we are being watch then the pirates who take the pkg after we delivered would be caught on video then the customer can contact police hopefully this would help us not getting mark as not delivered or received
Exactly
When you deliver from a whole foods do you always have to knock on doors and deliver directly to the customer?
Yes. I had a customer get mad at me because I didn’t contact him
You got a read the notes and in the notes it will tell you where to deliver the package whether or not they want you to knock on the door and knock on the door if it’s not late but if it’s after seven or eight i don’t knock on the door
Where do I apply for Amazon flex driver?
I could not find the garage it was a huge house on top of it being dark I walked to both side of the house didn’t see it so I tucked it behind a plant at there front door and took a picture it was past my time and it was also the last delivery I called customer before I left it they didn’t answer
My Amazon Account Got Deactivated recently for not Acknowledging The Orders .. Do you have any idea regarding how to reactivate my account ?
Hello!
I work for a company that provides me with routes and pays me a fixed amount. I normally do 140 stops and 210 parcels per day.
Is there a way to work directly with Amazon and receive per parcel delivered, or do you really need to have this company intermediating?
Amazon has its own employees as driver. This is Amazon Flex which is gig work, so you are a self-employed independent contractor. If you want a "job" driving for Amazon, apply with Amazon.
I drive for a dsp. Essentially amazon so I got an average of 300+ stops. I wouldn't mind doing this on my time off but my question is are they routing you guys far between houses? I can do 60 stops in an hour if they're in the same neighborhood. Gas is the biggest worry.
I did DSP and Flex. What I found is my Flex routes were further away and more difficult in terms of package delivery addresses. It seemed like Flex drivers got what the DSP’s didn’t want.
@@new1old I did the same thing. Flex gets whatever the DSP can’t fit in the truck, forgot at the warehouse, or whatever was returned at the end of the shift for a DSP driver.
All the stops are usually far apart. Sometimes we get DSP overflow routes so I've done a few hours of one and it's totally different. Like I've never had 2 packages go to the same apartment complex on a regular Flex route. Sometimes I'll have a 15 minute or longer drive between houses. They might have you drive 50 min to drop off 1-5 packages and they may be far apart. It's a ripoff without big surge pay, even then it's really still a ripoff without basic stuff like worker's comp
Yes, I got sent far away. I started out in neighborhoods and as the as I was delivering packages, they got further and further out into country areas with dirt roads long driveways and scary access at night.
do you get pay by stop?
Amazon is requiring a signature for delivery from every seller, for now?
I just write N/A
not worth the trouble of having to go to the warehouse travel and then to make about minimum wage after you pay taxes. And pay your maintenance bill and the cost of your mileage on your car and then if you go there they throw these 100$ plus orders up just for you to be sitting thinking your going to get this big order. Not.. another big business using your lack of financial knowledge to get over. Then you don't know were your going so you have they send you 30 mins out of your pickup zone with no pay for the travel time back a 4 hour block is really a 5 hour with all the time spent to get the block ship the block and organize the block and also the dents in your car from people who are not strong enough to move these carts. 550 to get a dent out your car. And also to he going on private property to deliver to people risking your life actually with some orders. Welcome to the new age slave labor.
Taxes come up to 6 cent per dollar you make . To make a long story sort 45% of your money is taxed. Take that away from your block then your has is a tax write off and maintenance but not for your social security and other taxes google it.....
Get ready to by a new car and remember that the number one way to get hurt is car accidents.
So save for a new transmission or engine and shocks and remember to get good health insurance and life insurance and everything else you need to be a business.
This is only partly true. If you do this on a part time basis, everything thing you mention is bad information. If you have a full time job and is a single tax filer a 1099 will help you keep most of your tax dollars because of the write offs from driving. By, the way I know plenty of people that drive back and forth to work everyday doing 120 miles round. So guess what, same thing with the wear and tear on their cars also. If people need money they will do whatever it takes to pay bills.
Can you recommend a maps app that you use on your deliveries?
*That's a great question I would like to know as well. I'm a courier now and every one of my team uses an app called Circuit but it's $20 a month. I would love to find a free maps app that is just as efficient*
I use Google maps I found they’re the best
I've recently tried Amazon delivery. On my first amazon Fresh I got assigned 47 items (32 bags I believed) and the driving to the first delivery location took me 25 minutes, ended up taking me 4 hours to deliver all of them when the estimated hours were only 2 hours. Already feels kind of not worth it but I'm gonna give some more chances, maybe I just got unlucky
Hi,
My husband applied for amazon flex and background check failed. Though he has no criminal record at all. Do you know why?
@@citrayunika3920 It is most likely due to speeding tickets or traffic violations
I very much agree with you. I just had a whole bunch of packages to deliver within a 3 1/2 hour timeframe and it wasn’t near enough time because they kept sending me down old country Road where there’s not even a pavement, and looked so dangerous. Going down these country roads it’s ridiculous dark country roads, trying to leave packages when there’s no addresses on the place where you need to leave it and there’s gates on these places with dirt roads. Yeah it was scary.
@@alettaadorno5623 Yeah that's why i rarely do Fresh, they keep sending me to uphill/mountain and Downtown cities lol

Hola llevo tiempo tratando d bajar esta aplicación usted me puede ayudar please 🙏

The route assignments are terrible. I just think they could do better. An independent contractor that isn’t an employee of the company should have more options in my opinion. I recently stopped Amazon Flex bc of safety and distance reasons. I also fell once while making a delivery and banged up my knee and the injury was on me as being an independent contractor.
what city are you driving for flex?
@@NMamoru I was driving in the Elmwood area in Louisiana
Bruh if I had 30 to 60 stops because I'm a driver in the big vans I would not complain at all that would be heaven for me

this sounds like a nightmare.............do they deliver to apartments?!? omg

Amazon flex is ideal if you want to make money really early In the mornings 4am-8am shifts are good but otherwise there’s better ways to make money In the afternoon

How is it that anyone can run a profitable courier business delivering packages for Amazon when your customer (Amazon) does not tell you in detail how many packages and where you will be working so you as a contractor would know if it makes financial sense to do. I get the bullying of the big tech company but people, wake up stop gambling your time and money. That is not the way to do business.
Keep it real
Why can't they give customers the OPTION to tip? Even an average of 25-50 cents per stop would make a big difference.
You can quit anything you want...
It’s true, I quit life like 3 weeks ago.
Does anyone know the daily/weekly/monthly hour limit? I love in WI and also travel a bit to MN. Thanks!
8 hours a day 40 hours a week
@@DJNX4995 do you know where I can find this information?
I'm out in AZ so it is possible it is different based on state but I have done 10hr (2 5hr routes) days many times. It never let me do more than that in a day.
Also out here they seem to cut you off at 40hrs/week and I believe that is a rolling 7 day period but I can't confirm that for sure. I just know if I work 4 10s I can't pick up more hours until the 1st day fell off.
You are not an employee so you are not covered by employment laws. You can work as much as you want.
The warehouse is open 24 hours
Hey I got a question, when a block appears on my feed, and I like the station and the amount of money and try to schedule it it doesn’t let me get it, it says “someone already scheduled it, try to reserve another block” so if someone already scheduled it before I did why it appeared to me in my feed in the first place, that has happened to me recently a couple times now.
OMG it is so hard to get a route or to get a job. I just have to keep going to offers and clicking on the refresh refresh refresh.
People snatch them up real quick before you can’t even finish reading
That’s what saying, exactly that I think happened to most of us, It’s a glitch I guess
