    I like how they took that one snippet of his speech (which was the last 25 seconds of a 5 minute speech) and took it out of context making him seem like something he’s not. Listen to the whole speech, it was passionate about ending injustice and it was quite moving. Btw his mother is white, and he never said anything racist or disrespectful about her race. He only talked about valid injustices mentioning them by name not color. Wanting to support and fight for equality for one race doesn’t make you racist against someone else. That woman needs to fact check, and the media is just as bad

You will NEVER know what it feels to be black, like I will NEVER know what it feels like not to be black. People who take issue with what Jessie Williams said either want to continue the inequality that exist today or pretend it doesn't exist because realizing it does, or even realizing you partake in it is a hard pill to swallow.

      Jeff T the thing about the CONCEPT of “whiteness” is that “white” people are actually connected to their ethnicity and nationality. So knowing for example that my “white” family is actually French and Prussian who settled in U.S. is a huge differentiator than knowing my “blackness” comes from an ethnicity and nationality that was targeted and disappeared so that I would not be connected to my heritage. This was purposefully thought of and planned and organized and successfully happens. So “whiteness” is an invention as “blackness” is a relegation. Does that make sense?

    If Jesse Williams finds the individual who actually did the crime he has to specify that individual alone is responsible not the entire race or ethnicity to which they appear or identify. It's called racial profiling and our judicial system tries each person in a court of law as "innocent until proven guilty" (refer to the book To Kill A Mockingbird if you like). To every "white" child just born, Jesse's form of "guilty before proven innocent" will slap them with a crime they did not commit and make them guilty by blood and association to their white parents. A child is also not judged or given the sentencing of their parents crimes. Would that child be exempt if raised by black parents, in a black community and informed from birth what his or any other black persons perspective on black rights or crimes against "the black people"? There are so many things wrong with Jesse's rant and equally with Stacey's comments as both are equally frustrated with the "hate the white people" rhetoric

    Mrs. Dash has the right to her opinion. She has the right to believe as she does and live her life as she chooses. I don't respect her nor do I respect her lack of ability to analyze issues without attacking those with opposing views. Jesse Wiliams offered his opinion on deep political issues and at no point did he attack anyone or make the issues personal. He offered a solid perspective on contemporary racial issues and was clear and concise. Mrs. Dash, on the other hand, has failed to do anything except attack, name call, and throw a "negroes are always complaining" tantrum. Interestingly, he never once complained about a thing. I also really appreciate that he stood on higher ground and didn't come back at Mrs. Dash. He's a man who has the right to speak and he spoke. I appreciate and respect him for it. No humane person on the planet would support cops killing unarmed children, women, and others. Even if you take race out of it, it's clear that what they're doing is either a reflection of horrible policing when it comes to some groups or it's intentional.

The sound of silence just got really loud. Bring to the table who ever you want. Dialogue it, analyze with the talking heads of your choice. Opinion the question and be as passionate and strong as you can. I promise you whites will not publicly respond with any answer blacks will hear.

    Stacey dash is completely right, I was watching the bets live great award show but when he started talking I was like dear hell this dude has lost his fucking mind, you have to target the people proven to be racists not generalize whites as evil horrible people that's so toxic... all races can be racists unfortunately but I didn't do anything to anybody, don't hate me for shit other people did, I wish more people would do what Stacey was brave enough to do.. disclaimer I'm not a republican, I'm a classic liberal/libertarian with common sense so don't say I'm racist because I didn't say anything racist unlike jesse Williams smh...

    • @girll2011
      @girll2011 8 лет назад +18

      if you're a liberal who actually listened to jesse's speech, than you need to listen to it again instead of hear only what you want. black pride does no equal white shame. he would not get on television and tell white people that they're bad in front of his white mother who was there that night. he was telling racist cops that they're bad for detaining and arresting white criminals while executing black people both guilty and innocent of crimes without a fair trial. it's called social injustice not reverse racism. did you and I hear the same speech?

    • @RobsRides
      @RobsRides 8 лет назад

      People possess racist social culture founded long ago and evolved but still containing some base values, beliefs, and perceptions of society that may not even target race and ethnicity intentionally, but still minorities get the backlash. That's when people say "whites are racist," as in mainstream American cultural foundation rather than targeting individuals who are more aggressively prejudice.

      He's not hating on you. Not once did he hate on you. Don't be offended. He sinply said black lives are seen as less and are most likely to be shot at and imprisoned for small felonies compared to white people. This isn't rocket science

    • @alienslovepeanuts
      @alienslovepeanuts 8 лет назад

      bgcm1995 well I know he doesn't hate me because I'm not racist so I wasn't in his target :), I don't think he is malice or a bad guy the problem is he is completely wrong on multiple key points... racial profiling is real and I'm upset that people go to jail on minor arrests, the disagreement is with the police killings and black lives not being equal in the eyes of police, some cops are racists but the problem is the police training to shot and kill everybody its a white problem too without a doubt, that's why I support all lives matter because it focuses on the problem... in England police killed one person in 7 months that they had to, they handle things better and never kill anybody yet Europeans are really racist lmao, it's funny because stupid people can be rocket scientists so that phrase isn't accurate :).. American police are cowards they fear its blatantly clear, when police kill unarmed white kids you think they hate whites ? its unlikely.. multiple times when people are killed by cops I've cried and get extremely angry the difference is I don't blame groups, I blame guilty individuals proven with evidence, that's why I could never be a mindless SJW... if America trained the police department to act lawfully the deaths and mistreatment of all races will drop automatically, regressive left movements protesting and attacking are not helping nobody in reality... with intellectual unbiased debates and focusing on petitions to fix issues things will get better over time, I want to fix problems productively... I agree with like 70% of black lives matter its sad the 30% difference makes me an outcast fitting into all lives matter position, sadly many black people also get outcast when they're free thinkers, its an extremely complex issue that I hope more people research.. from what I've seen some cops don't value human life bottom line, we are on the same team I just feel the need to be factual :D...

    i get that he made a speech that he felt from deep in his heart, however it was really insulting to all the races that have never tried a black persons skin on before discarding it like trash, i think both of them said things to provoke emotion, good and bad emotion, and in turn have facilitated a further devide between races, im all for ppl expressing their opinions but really u can lift people up without stepping on others

    • @nicksimonds2232
      @nicksimonds2232 8 лет назад +2

      Was it really tho? I didn't hear him insult any race. Man speaks the truth about how black people are treated in our society and YOU get offended? I don't want to insult you but I am curious as to what exactly he said that offended you?

    • @casim3299
      @casim3299 8 лет назад

      It hurts my soul that beautiful lives are being taken by racism and evil ppl, it angers me because im from the mind that ppl should be judged by the content of their character not the colour of their skin, to just lump us all together as though we all are the same is insulting, obviously he made his speech to evoke strength and pride for black communities, i respect and support that 100%.
      The comment box is there for ppl to share their thoughts so i did that, we all see life from different perspectives, mine was not meant to take away from anyone elses. Enjoy your day 😊

    Jesse needs a reality check - somebody taught him to play the victim card and he be doin' that real good.
    At 34 years old, he already has net worth of over $4 MILLION. Seems he doesn't have much to complain about and could start spreadin' that wealth around.

      The man gives money for scholarships, foundations, even to people who can't afford things. He doesn't advertise about it because what's the point of giving to needy people and all you expect is publicity and your picture on the news. You'll be surprised how many famous people who do. Shall I write you a list.

    Way to go Stacey! This woman has more courage than almost all of us put together. It's easy to be a Hollywood star and reap the benefits of what American society has created (and then complain about it). Jesse Williams is rich and famous while I remember my own brother being beaten daily until he quit school because he was white in a predominately black school. I don't feel sorry for Jesse Williams or anyone else who is living an extremely comfortable life because of what America has helped him become. I have never called anyone the "n" word or ever treated anyone differently because of their race and yet I hear all about how horrible whites are. Whites are in the minority worldwide. I would love to see any of these Hollywood brats try to live in a dictatorship for a change.

    • @kmterpin
      @kmterpin 8 лет назад +1

      Same thing happened to my relative, was constantly beat down by blacks as one of the few whites in a predominantly black school. It was awful. Yet in every Fortune 500 corporation there are affirmative action hiring procedures -no one is seeking to keep the black man down. Or woman. I knew a fine black man from Panama who told me, "Blacks who don't take advantage of all that is available to them in this country for their advancement truly must be ignorant. I cannot believe all that was made available to me for my livelihood since I arrived here, this is an amazing country." That was HIS observation. My ancestors were coal miners, seamstresses, factory workers, firemen, soldiers...all struggled to survive and many died young. But my generation is now constantly guilt-tripped for being white and accused of "white privilege" or "racism." This Jesse Williams has an award in his hand, a lucrative career, a loving mother...but is foaming at the mouth about racial injustice. I suggest he survey Syria or Pakistan or Iran or North Korea...and see how well human beings are flourishing there.

    • @lah1667
      @lah1667 4 года назад

      Please don't be ignorant. You might not call anyone the n word but I arrived in an Eastern European country and got called that within 30 minutes of hitting its soil. The land I'm from is less overtly racist but I experienced microaggressions regularly because of my race or even had someone not want to sit next to me on public transport in case I mug them because of the colour of my skin. Just because you claim not to be racist, don't act as though everyone else out there is a Saint too and don't deny other people their lived experience...
