Are you looking to get started in Pauper but don’t know where to begin? Are you an established player who is tired of running commonly played decks like delver, blitz, hexproof and wants something distinct, different, and under the radar? Want something with great synergy, neat combos, and the exalted mechanic? Then have I got a deck for you.
Selesnya Exalted! Selesnya Exalted is a White-Green Aggro deck that plays similarly to Pauper Bogles Hexproof, but has the advantage of running more robust creatures. The best magic cards to buy for the strongest decks and the most affordable budget builds.
While Gladecover Scout, Slippery Bogle, and Silhana Ledgewalker are tough to kill they all fail in the face of Electrickery - one of the most commonly played sideboard cards in the format.
White-Green Aggro trades in Auras in favor of +1/+1 bonuses, in the form of Exalted triggers and counters from Travel Preparations. The result is a slightly slower deck that leans more on synergy between cards than the beautiful union of a Hexproof creature and Ethereal Armor.
Best of all, the deck is very under the radar right now, yet I feel it is positioned well in the current meta. It’s Pauper so nothing ever rotates, once you have this deck, you have it for life, and best of all it only costs about $40. Let’s look!

should "everyone" play mtg? or more precisely, who, and why should someone not play, for example should financial reasons or not having friends interested in playing stop someone from playing magic?

I love playing that deck at my LGS, I won an event with it, they said to find a new deck because it was so miserable. The exalted deck seems like it won't make people miserable.

Me: No, I just really like your videos cause you have a relaxing voice and your videos are informative even though I almost never get to actually play MTG, and when I do it's Commander. 1v1 Commander at that x.x But don't let me not looking for it stop you, like I said your videos are always nice to watch and learn a bit more about stuff, even if I'll never use it.
Have you done a vampire deck yet? Is there a good vampire deck in Pauper? I love vampires and +1/+1 counters in MTG.
daemonCaptrix I tried my ass off to build a vampire deck and was unsuccessful. There are no lord effects and poor synergies in common. Bit of a shame really.
Just find a good shop and search for all common vampires, then also do a search for 'when dies' for common creatures. While there may not be an clear apparent +/+ deck, nor a true life drain deck, there might well be a case for a decent 'aristocrats' vampires deck in the style of Nantuko Husk (hope i spelled that right). Great sac outlets, and an abundance of creatures to sac for value (or more sac's) at the common level ... while i haven't looked for it specifically, there might also be a R/B Vampires Madness deck at the common level (just search for common creatures vampires discard, and just madness overall) ... How well these decks will do in the format, no clue though ^^
I love pauper, and I enjoy all your videos on the format immensely!! Please continue them! I have been trying to make a pauper mill deck in Dimir (one of my three favourite guilds next to Izzet and Golgari). It would be cool to see a video on that! Much love from Germany!
I like using hunger of the howlpack. It's instant speed buffs is paramount. Also that 2 mana fight card that puts a +1/+1 on a thing is great
Looks really fun to play! I haven't gotten into the format just yet, but considering the joy I've felt tooling around with Selesnya in Standard lately, I think this will be the deck that brings me into Pauper.
Slivers has similar gameplay, but you can swing in with the whole team, and they are tough on the defense as well. So slivers is a win in my opinion

Glad to see benevolent bodyguard getting some love. Been running that card in white decks for ages. Chump block with it and then sac it to give another blocker protection. So many shenanigans on such a little card.
So crazy. I was wondering if there was a good exalted pauper deck tech out...and here we are. I was initially thinking Orzhov Pauper exalted because of all the great m13 black and white exalted cards that set, but this looks great. You the man Professor.

I just built Selesnya Pauper EDH featuring Citadel Castellan as my Commander. Huge fan of Selesnya and this deck would be right up my alley.
Just wanted to say that I'm a fan of the different videos that you make such as tutorials for starting out, review of products, deck types, and ect. One things that I wanted to know is if you have a video showing the different formats of play for mtg for new players (Modern, Standard, Sealed, Booster draft, ect) that shows in your opinion where to begin at.
Also a cost analysis of the top players in each of those formats. Such as how much the decks cost for the top 3-5 finishers at any Grand Prix.
This would show the difference in my opinion in the cost between playing Standard and Modern as compared to Sealed/booster draft.
I remembered going to my first FNM and feeling a little overwhelmed due to playing modern, but had a blast when it came to booster draft due to it feeling more even and based on skill instead of how much money you put into your deck.
Anyways thanks for taking your time to make these videos for both beginners and pros to enjoy watching.

Great deck. I have found that the exalted mechanic works very nicely with the provoke mechanic. I have a similar deck but a little more exalted heavy that includes also Deftblade elite and Krossan Vorine. Makes a very nice beat-down and board domination strategy.

Hey Professor, I enjoy your content and was thrilled to see you mention this deck that I 5-0d a while back. I have changed the board significantly to something more hate-bearsy and I cut the spider for another land but the spider is a lot of fun so I'm not sure about that decision. I've been putting good commons aside just for pauper decks, but I haven't made one yet, I saw something about a pauper commander deck on the net with a uncommon legendary, that would be a great video to do next.

Hey, Professor. Can you explain the choice to include Sungrace Pegasus instead of Vault Skirge? Why is it worth paying an extra mana? I understand the extra point of thougness means the pegasus survives electrickery, but I assume you will put +1/+1 counters on your flier anyway. Is the cost of paying 2 life significant in many matchups?

Offense seems weak to Celestial Flare and chump blockers, and seems light on defense as well. Would be interested to see how well this does in the meta.
Ivy Lane Denizen would be a great addition to this deck. Maybe have 2 of them in there to make Rendclaw Trow and Safehold Elite a nuisance for any opponent since they keep coming back to the battlefield

Any ideas for improving this deck? :) One suggestion that I've heard and that I intend to try is to switch Sungrace Pegasus with Healer's Hawk. What do you think about that? Any other ideas? :)
Sometimes I miss card draw or a way to use extra lands drawn during a long game. But the retrace cards aren't good enough and cycling lands might be too slow (as they enter tapped). Perhaps the deck is fine as it is.
I would love to see a Pay period Esper or Jund deck! Or even a Abzan saproling pauper deck would be sweet

How about a Boros equipment deck in pauper?
I mean if you find more than 2 equipments that are playable go for it
Bone saw, that indestructible axe, that other axe that isn't indestructible. Maybe make it boros to have keledos rebirth or whatever that sac an artifact for 3 tokens spell is called. Also run kor skyfisher, bolt, and that 1/2 for a single white with investigate

You monster! So mean.
If you go in for Infect you have to commit to it pretty hard since it's really awkward to pivot from dealing poison damage to regular damage if your elves get killed.
It could be a good sideboard card against a life gain deck.
Fair, I think a play set of elves and two rot wolves would be fine though.

Hey quick question. So, I’ve seen that Ancestral Mask is legal in MTGO in pauper, but if I’m not mistaken, only 7th edition core set and onward are on MTGO, and Ancestral Mask, originally from Mercadian Masques, was only ever reprinted at uncommon in eternal masters. So if it is in fact pauper legal, why is this if only MTGO released commons are legal? Please anyone respond when you can.

Please sir Can you do a video on commander 2018 before they come out. I'm new to commander and feel like the one I want looks good but veterans are saying they are all terrible. I know we should pick whats fun but $40 is not cheap to be getting something that's not worth it.

Awesome video professor 👍👍😃😉 but isn't the deck supposed to composed of all commons, i noticed you added 4 rancors to the deck and they are uncommons isn't pauper just all commons.
Rancor has been printed at common and thus is Pauper legal. As long as a card has been printed once as a common, then it is Pauper legal.
