What I enjoy Iain is that you have your "test driving face" on, seriously analysing the cars behaviour, steering, alignments etc. And still you manage to address the viewers, I'm really enjoying the professionalism time and time again.
The leather is absolutely beautiful. The reveal when the roof was opened was stunning. It really makes me very proud to be British, knowing we still have craftsmen who can do this beautiful work around today. Thank you, Ian, for showing the end result.
@@theestimator Considering it's the original interior then yes, Steve did a great job and the transformation is exceptional. I think a few marks and ripples on a 60 year old interior is to be expected, and there's not much he can do with misalinged seams without re-stitching. He's not a magician after all.
@@theestimatorwatch Iain’s first video on this car, and the visit to Steve (his leather specialist) to understand why the interior has been refurbished this way. Very intentional given how great shape the car was and is.
OMG, that's such a stunning car. I have never been the jealous type, but I do envy the owner of this one. I hope that car and its owner enjoy some of those fabulous tree-line roads known to be close-by.
I just love how the rear passenger windows come down when you shifted the window handle. Beautiful example of vintage Rolls and the white striped tyres are an aesthetic match.
An absolute delight to see. What a wonderful car. The danish king Frederik IX (1899-1972) drove one in the sixties. Actually he drove a Bentley version but it’s of hardly any importance. A quirk is that he always drove cars with the steering wheel mounted to the right even though we are driving on the right here. Greetings from Denmark
Absolutely outstanding work by Steve and Craig. The interior looks like a new car. The owner will be very happy no doubt. Not forgetting all the expert work put into the mechanics too.
What a stunning rejuvenation of the whole car! Just glorious! That leather is exceptional! Love it, just right, more than just right, but with the right amount of patina. Chapeau, Iain! Thanks for sharing this video!😍
Wow......just like out from the showroom .......! Well done Steve & Iain.......RR owners out there might not believe what they see when delivery their old junk back to them ......
Good Lord, that is simply jaw droppingly, stunningly beautiful. This proves beyond doubt (if it was ever needed) that Great Britain still has world beating artisanal craftmanship within the classic car industry. Brilliant!
The leather has come out so well. You can enjoy all the natural creasing that allows the seats to give’ without worrying that cracks will develop. Real shame about the micro blistering though- that usually means the paint will have to come off. The sound on acceleration is absolutely wonderful
Absolutely terrific Iain, I love old RR of that period. To think there were not too many cars on the road back then, and to see a Silver Cloud Chinese eye drop head. Your company had also worked wonders…keep up the good work!
An absolutely, 'drophead' gorgeous piece of automobile history! A beautiful, elegant motor car, sensitively restored to a working condition - I hope the (2nd.) owner appreciates what he's bought. Stunning!
Wow, turned out absolutely beautiful, a stunning looking car ! Always particularly interested in the interior restorations as I worked with leather all my life in the footwear industry. An incredibly versatile material and beautifully restored in this gorgeous car. Very enjoyable video as always !
I can see me doing that, too. If I had a tree-lined drive..... Living in rural Cambridgeshire as we do, tree-lined drives are in very short supply - we have to drive about three miles to actually SEE a tree.
@tacfoley4443 Three miles in that car to find a tree would be worth it 🤣. I live in rural NZ. Many a farm driveway here have only gum trees. Not the beautiful trees of Britain.
Silently wafting along, the only disturbance the ticking of the clock. The sound of that V8 when giving it some stick, brings back memories of my Shadow II. The quality will remain when the price is forgotten, a motto from Pa Royce.
Very impressive work, sir! You have taken that car about as far as it can go and still remain original. It is breathtaking. I was impressed with how well that 4 sp Hydramatic is working, too. I have never worked on one, but I have heard it takes real finesse to get them adjusted just right - but when you do, they work really well. No torque converter. They are all gear. The electric selector on it must me a nice touch. I remember reading that they did a Hydramatic conversion on one of Her Majesty's stick cars back in the early 50s. I don't think it was too long after she became Queen. It may have been one of her dad's cars, not sure.
Oh I thought you only made one short video about it and I thought that was it. Was a bit upset when you didn't touch much about the mechanic side of it and the road test. Thanks for making the second part for this!
That cheeky little trick of dropping down to 3rd is also a trick us seasoned motorcyclists do ,it helps settle the bike and pull it round and also enables linear acceleration out of the bend without upsetting the balance. Beautiful car, thank you.
Iain not only I've a lot of respect for your and your staff's craftmanship ... but also admire your self-restraint when handing over cars to their owners ... especially for this stunning Rolls Royce .. I for sure cannot deal with that😊
Hi Iain What an absolutely exquisite vehicle just beautiful! and great videos too! Now I was also very interested in what you were saying about the cross plyes, Back in 76 when I was a young bloke 🤣 I purchased a beautiful 1970 Admiralty Blue Rover 3.5 litre Coupé only 16000 original miles on the clock I was chuffed to say the least! Anyway I digress, so it still had the original cross plyes on, at first I thought there was something wrong with the steering it just felt very unsafe, wandering all over the joint, Fortunately my Dad was in the tyre trade and after driving it, he said straight away, we need to get a set of radials on right now! So a lovely set of Pirelli Cinturatos were fitted(Trade price of course 😁) totally transformed that car, a while later I was talking to the previous owner a retired Army General no less and he asked me if I'd ever owned or driven Silver Cloud 3? Er no! 😂, he told me that his previous SC3 had the same issue with cross ply tyres! Well there ya go! 😂 Cheers Iain, great channel
So beautiful. Perfection in wheels, first from the factory, then by Mulliner Park Ward - and now by Tyrells Classic Workshop. What happend to the leather is magic. Pure elegance and craftmanship. And my personal surprise: it sounds quite angry at acceleration!😮 Well done, Sir!
Another wonderful video Iain, always interesting and fascinating insights to some of the most beautiful Classics. Thank you for the wonderful enjoyment you give us all each week.
Major Wow factor in this episode. It’s not just a car. It’s an Objet D’art with the leather & all original wood trim. Thanks Ian for conveying the essence of the car and how it drives 👍👍
Hi Iain, she’s beautiful, the interior looks fantastic. I’m surprised that Charles and Camilla aren’t driving around together in this beautiful Rolls. It just looks very royal. Thank You 🙏
After a while out, when I saw this opportunity, I jumped aboard under your invitation, Sir. Refreshing, is the feeling I have always when sitting somewhere with your auscultation of a car. You are my favourite doctor. Thank you so much.
Had a little chuckle to myself when you mentioned the radial tire needing to be changed due to a flat. I’m picturing in my mind the owner of this Rolls on the side of the road changing the flat tire himself. Fantastic work on the car as usual.
Again, with these blue cars. What a great transformation. Anyone would be proud to drive and be seen in that old gal. Hats off to the experts bringing the leather to new like condition. I can almost smell it from here.
Fabulous job on interior. You mentioned fuel and cooling - might you do a nerd’s episode on fuel and cooling for classics some day? Topics like the evil of ethanol, and products like Evan waterless coolant etc. Be good to hear your sage advice! Thanks!
Well done to all who worked on bringing back to life this wonderful car, what a beauty, superb interior now and great to hear the engine purring beautifully!!. How lovely to hear the lucky owner is actually going to do some miles in it on those nice new tyres. Fab!! Cheers Peter. Envious, you bet I am!!.
Those grey seatbelts are to die for! They are actually aircraft type, (Can't recall if they are Britax or not) and a friend of mine has a set of them on his DB6 with black interior and red paint. Stunning! Cheers

That’s a car you drive slowly, so that everyone has time to see you pass elegantly by in it. What an amazing job you and your people have done Iain.
