Took my daughter to Jinjer back in September 2019 in Denver Colorado. We did a meet and greet. Understand I'm 51, my daughter was 18. When we met the band, you could feel the radiance of appreciation they have for their fans. Very humble. The entire experience will be unforgettable. Btw, my neck is still sore, lol. Stay brutal \m/
there is a parallel to do between seasons and depression. She also refers to nature "dying" in winter and being then reborn in Spring. Just like this depression rising in autumn and receding when the light is back.
Nailed it! It´s about depression. So much talent, the voice, the lyrics, the bass, the guitar, the drums, the overall musicianship! Love it! Go for more Jinjer epicness!
Dude I know. I’m supposed to see Megadeth in June. Megadeth is like the third metal band I ever became obsessed with and every time they’ve come around I’ve been stopped from seeing them by asshole bosses, a death in the family, car problems, and a wedding. I’m really hoping to not have to add ‘global pandemic’ to the list. ...*gets up next day and reads “Mustaine dies from Covid-19* well, fuck...
I see it as about depression and also about relationships, how they often go through cycles. Regardless, she's a great lyricist, because her lyrics are always thoughtful. She's not just rhyming words.
love her kicks and monster walks! and the "reanimation" movements when she whips into the growl for "from the ashes of my rooooooots" at 7:55 im surprised eugene doesnt do acrobatics and kicks as he is a high level competitive martial artist
At 6:10, you hit it right on the head!! Good take brother!! She's singing about seasonal depression and using perennial (plants) as a metaphor. Also, thank you so much for letting her outro play all the way through, a lot of reactors cut her off after the song ends. Most excellent reaction!!! Bravo!
Great reaction, I have seen Jinjer live twice, it was awesome. Btw in case you don't know, Devin Townsend has a song with Floor Jansen, it has some years already, but it will be interesting to check since you just discovered Devin Townsend. Please react to Gojira, pretty please xD Stay metal, stay safe!
@@PowerfulReactions There are so many good bands out there! It would be very nice to see your reaction to some Gojira live, for example Where dragons Dwell - Hellfest 2013 or The Gift of Guilt live at Brixton Academy or The Art of Dying Live at Vieilles Charrues Festival. I'm glad you like it, Silvera is one of their hits ans it's very good indeed! But they have much more amazing songs besides Silvera. Thanks so much, I appreciate your replies, very kind of you! I stay tuned to more reactions, are great entertainment during the lockdown. Stay safe and stay metal :)
There are two songs by Jinjer that I think are the best in every way that are Teacher Teacher and Sit stay and roll over, listen to them, I think you will enjoy them very much
I think You have right, this song is talk about a winter depresion. Great reaction, like always. Maybe next time Wintersun - Time (Sonic Pump Studio rehersal). Take care about yourself.
Also despite a bit of her own layered harmonies during the melodic breakdown, I'm sure none of us buy into any suggestion of autotune. She just is that good especially at the big festivals apparently they say.
If you like Jinjer, you shouldn't miss Arch Enemy (z.B. War Eternal Wacken 2016) If you'd like to support some really cool German Newcomers you should give "Null Positiv" a try: "Kollaps (Official Video)": heavier "Turm der Angst (Offial Video)": more melodic They are really nice guys, very friendly and I am looking forward to seeing/meeting/shooting/drinking withthem in September at the "Volle Kraft Voraus Festival" (if Corona doesn't kill it)
In case it was cancelled by now, I hope for you that there will be an alternative date later on. I was lucky to see them live in December and I was blown away, We couldn't get over how good they sounded live! So I hope you can experience that as well
Naw, she misses notes the old-fashioned way sometimes, no autotune. ;) Good analysis. Tati is chronically depressed, but it gets worse in the winter. I'd always been confused about the line "under permanent ice" because that didn't make sense in terms of the changing of the seasons - but your explanation that it is her emotional state fits the feelings she has expressed of being trapped in a permanent state of melancholy. I do feel that Tati wrote this song to lead her out of some of those feelings, at least the seasonal depression aspect. At the risk of overthinking my interpretation, connecting the rest of the line "under permenant ice, we found a breathless paradise, no we're not dead...just enjoying coma" fits with more recent comments she's made in interviews that she's come to feel that being sad is beautiful in a way. Another song that digs into her mental health struggles is Pit Of Consciousness - the brand new Live in Kiev video that came out last week is savage. p.s. if you get a chance to interview them, one of the most important questions you could ask is whether the chorus of Pisces says "scale armor belies" or "scale armor blaze."
@@nstag8r yes, the album says blaze, but a lot of fans hear "belies" which also seems to fit the meaning of the line better, so yes it would be very helpful to the community to have a word of goddess answer rather than going along accepting what might well be a typo. And at least it wouldn't be a question that she gets asked all the time like "how did you learn to growl" haha.
Jeffrey Fisher sure. A lot of fans hear blaze. And “scale armour blaze” makes perfect sense to me. It being a typo would be an extreme reach lol. But whatever for those that need piece of mind go for it.
You like Nightwish now. They are from Finland. But there is more good music from this country. They know each other, sometimes they are together on a stage. Like Stratovarius. Or Sonata Arctica. (Some favorites of me). Unfortunately there are only a few good live-videos from them. The best are made from the Wacken-Team. You like Wacken Open Air, too? Jinjer`s clip was made there. Here are 2 links: Stratovarius at Wacken 2015: ruclips.net/video/0wzo0qqi_Ng/видео.html Not one of my favorite songs from them, but here with the best sound. And Sonata Artica at Wacken 2017, 3 songs in a row: ruclips.net/video/TWRo5ldfDl0/видео.html Both groups exits for more than 20 years, like Nightwish. Their music is unique and often unexpectable for their fans.

Hi brother, just found and instantly subscribed to your channel, i enjoy the very spontaneous and humble way in which you react to good music. if you want to listen to something surprising take a look at japan's" Wagakki Band - Yoshiwara Lament [Dai Shinnen Kai 2017, Sakura no Utage]" or the instrumental from them as well called "Homura", not sure i can post links here. Axel Baltazar Dead bury their dead is my favorite overall, the growls after the solo is the most brutal thing in the world, but I chooses nemesis because it’s the most famous one.
I feel like the growls accentuate the power of the cleans. As a perhaps trite example, everyone likes the first verse of Pisces, but nobody freaks out on the first verse. After the growls, people kinda freak out about the second verse. I feel like those growls demand our full attention, making the evocative beauty of her clean vocals even more dramatically powerful.
So many layers to this song. It could be about an intimate relationship. It could also be about a Mutual friendship. Or just just a hatred for the man.

React to Nemesis live in Japan (Tyrants of the Rising Sun) by Arch Enemy, that’s the definition of brutal.
