I hope you will resume your camping adventures when you get to the UK. It is also only about 600 miles drive from London to the western edge of the Alps.
London/SE England has lower annual rainfall than most of the US east of eastern Texas. Even the wetter western parts of England are often dryer than parts of the Pacific North West. But when you do get wet days in January and February it can get miserable with the shorter day length due too the latitude (but longer in summer).

We're going to be in the West Country, so lots of wet weather, but beautiful countryside! We will definitely continue the camping adventures in the UK and Europe, though. 😊
