Would've never thought that the legendary Michael Johnson would be down to just his incredible 43.18 400m US Record! Just like the M100m @USAs this year, the 200m with Lyles, Knighton, Kenny B, Kerley, Norman, Laird, possibly Coleman & a couple of the collegians will also be a dogfight to make the team! Good thing they have 4 spots available due to Lyles's Bye!

You have to remember the TRACK TECH IS MUCH FASTER NOW. USAIN BOLT said so and so does the TRACK ENGINEERS of the Olympic. If Carl Lewis and Michael Johnson had these tracks and tech they would be much faster. Bob Hayes and Jim Hines ran in HORSE TRACK. It is stupid for the record officials to MIX generations records. I hate the RECORD officials. That is like comparing today’s INDY 500 cars to 1950’s or 1960’d to 1980’s Indy 500 cars

When Bolt did the 200m WR, he was in 9.58 shape. When he did 19.30, he was in 9.68 shape. Let that sink in just before we conclude his 19.19 is in any danger.

Say it louder for the ones in the back. Noah even said the last 50m he felt like he was going to fall and he was in a lot of pain. So imagine going faster, plus his running already looks tight so he would have to work on that as well.
Don't think anyone is touching any of Bolts records this, but talk is good for the sport.

According to the interview with Bolt and Michael Johnson's quote of an other interview with him in this video: ruclips.net/video/_vlVvxypZJ4/видео.html
Bolt said that his training wasn't as good as the previous year and he was rather tired on that day.
Personally I do also think that Bolt's high top speed and long strides would lend itself more towards performing relatively better in the 200m (not 2x the time, but less), than a fast starting, short distance runner would.

Bolt’s record not a million miles away? Need to look at the numbers well. It really surprises me how people even think of comparing Lyles to what Bolt has done. He doesn’t come any close to the times Bolt has reached. Let him beat Blake’s record before the Bolt conversation even comes up. When it comes to the 100m, he places No.24 which is incredibly far behind. His body physics doesn’t just allow him to beat that record. Bolt was better at whatever Lyles is able to do plus the height which is an added advantage. Lyles has been very brilliant but the Bolt conversation should be brought up he won’t beat any of the two records.
