Oh wow, Glad to see the portal is still working between your unit & Harry's. You dont even need to press the switch on your wall now. Hope you are keeping well.
Great work with that canning line Andy - evidently setting up that seaming machine was a labour of love. I’d have been belting it madly with a hammer by then…
Hi Andy, nice to see you and Sarah again at the weekend, a great time had by all, cracking video btw, glad you've got the canning machine sorted, 17 hrs of faffing about with it is 17 hrs too long imo...will be in touch soon...
when I was in the brewery business here in the colonies, I used an Oktober Design can seamer. It worked right out of the box with zero adjustments. I used it along with a dual head XpressFill 4500C counterpressure filler. The filler required a little bit of adjustment each time I used it and if filling a large batch, it would require some minor adjustments throughout the process but once I used a couple of times, it was easy to stay on top of and I could easily fill 100s. I think the whole thing was less than $10k.
Yet another good one. Been diverted from Frankfurt to Nuremberg due to storms before. Certainly fairly common event this time of year. Good to see you got the canning machine going. Loved the session you did with Dudes Brews the other day 👌
Cheers! I really enjoyed the session with Richard and we also got to have a beer together last weekend at @Harrybrew69 place. Making some great new friends lately.
If you aren't knocking beer or foam out of the can when you drop the lid on, you are going to have oxygen in there and your cans will be bad in a week or two. Better to waste a bit than have oxidized beer. We've canned thousands of cans at my brewery and I can assure you that you don't want ANY space between the lid and the beer. Separate note: I guess we got lucky. We got a Cannular Pro and didn't have to adjust anything. In two years and thousands of cans, we get maybe one in a couple hundred that aren't sealed perfectly. Like the first commenter said, store them upside down and leaks are obvious pretty quickly.
Glad you figured out the canning machine. Was hoping for some to compare with my own Murgy when I was at Brett's last week but the shop was closed to order but that's the excuse to visit UK next year again and hope you have plenty stock on hand😎
I remember that old building by the canal, still nothing done with it...been in the Newton Heath pub, sadly only wainwright was on..ya can't beat the Lancaster Bomber...finally looks like ya getting there with you canning machine...nice one Andy🍺👍
I had no idea. Apparently everyone knew they were flying over as there was an event nearby. I was completely unaware until it thundered overhead. The sound was amazing. I hope they can keep them flying for a long time.
That's a long walk, or do all breweries have a wormhole between them😅? My condolances to Liams family and friends. Nice external view of Harrison's brewery and The Brew Shed.
Just breweries by the canalside. It's a giant watery high speed conduit. Don't ask me how it works but it makes it much easier to borrow stuff from each other. Cheers
Hey mate just watching this you want it to fob out so it breaks foam so you cap onto the foam those current ones will be getting 02 in still and will break down quickly. Its a prick of a thing but ive run the on tbe canning line a fair bit and if they cap like that would be stuffed. Another trick store cans upside down in box you can tell fast if they have a leak
I was. Some words about that in the next video. On Saturday there was a gathering of legendary RUclips brewing channel creators... and I sneaked in when nobody was looking.
I’m glad you got your canning machine dialed in! I have the Semi-automatic version and I still haven’t gotten it. Do you happen to know the measurements you ended up with?
I really didn't check the last time I made adjustments, it just worked so I bolted it all back together and left it alone! I know others with the semi-auto have used the exact measurements from the official manual and it works for them. You DO need to cut your feeler gauge lengthways to get it in the gaps to check. I think the semi auto works the other way round too, with the first seam roller on the right, and the second one on the left. Watch out for that in the videos and manuals. Cheers

haha! I was advised to recommission the portal at the brewtubers meetup at Harry's last weekend :) There may be more of it in future.
That blooming canning machine. Great to see the portal is working 👍🍻👍
Working on the Lincolnshire settings.
@@FourPriestsBrewery you could jump on the Lancaster it flies over my house every other day in the summer. Just a thought 🤪🍻🍻
Sorry to hear about your Friend Liam. Prayers to his family.
May the sorrow pass and the good memories begin. Cheers!
Thanks, they are very strong people. I hope for the same as you.

I was close.

£10K : A bargain! I had £500 to spend :)

Cheers. Yep fully aware. The beer used for this test needs more carbonation. We can get more foamy.

Sorry! We sold everything we had so I had to close it for a bit. Should be better set up soon with cans and bottles to sell. Cheers

Had to laugh when you mentioned GDPR 😂 great news about the canning 🍻
GDPR. Bane of my life.
Looked like you were at Retford visiting Harry?

@@FourPriestsBrewery thanks for the tips!
Andy where do you get your cans from
Hi, Adrian at www.staffordshirebrewery.co.uk/
Shouldn't you close the boxes with foam?
Think I remember @HarryBrew69 had problems with oxidation when he didn't seal them with foam. Cheers
