In 2019 my 85 year old Dad ( whom I adored) had become bedridden after a fall, and I spent the afternoon with him, sat on the bedroom floor, trying to think of ways to cheer him up, so I decided to introduce him to " the Internet "
You can just choose any song you like Dad, anything from the past 85 years, and within seconds I can let you listen to it on my phone! I could tell he didn't really believe me, but after a few moments of thinking he said how about " I remember you, by Frank Ifield?"
I wish I'd taken a photo of his amazement and joy as the first few bars started to play, and we sat blissfully together, listening to this song that had been released in 1962, the year before I was born.
It wasn't until a month later when my precious Dad passed away, and those lyrics entered my head one night " when my life is through, and the angels ask me to recall, the thrill of it all...I will tell them I remember, tell them I remember.. .tell them I remember you...that I realised the true, beautiful, poignant memory of that moment and the wonderful comforting lyrics of what is now my favourite song❤😊xx

"I Remember You" helped me to deal with a hard time in my life. I was 14 and had serious kidney problems. I was downcast and couldn't understand why did this happen to me. I had one of those crystal radios shaped like a rocket ship. The antenna was in the nose and it had a long wire clip that I fastened to the window screen next to my hospital bed. This was in Abilene, Texas at Hendricks Memorial Hospital. One night I picked up a radio station and you were singing that song and I thought to my self this guy has a great voice. The song stuck with me all these years. I'm 75 now and still kicking. But I want to thank you for that song. Back then I could hit the high notes like you. You really gave me a lot of great memories with your voice and songs! God bless you. Have all your records.

Lovely seeing this. l went to see Frank at the Liverpool Empire in 1963, l can see him now up on stage in his
‘ lovely suit’ loved every minute if it. My mum and l saw a lot of live performances that were round at that time
either at the Empire or the Pavillion. l was 5 years old when l first saw a live performance, a panto at the Empire, my mum’s love of music is what started it all for me as l continued throughout my life going to see live acts. Going on this ‘nostalgia trip’ through You Tube has brought wonderful memories back. l am now off to find Frankie Vaughan now, another fabulous live performer l saw back in the day. It was a privilege to see all these people perform.

In the 70s my mum loved Frank Ifield. I worked for a dentist Mr Hemphill in Willesden Green and one evening our last patient (I was a dental nurse going to school to be a hygienist) of the day was Frank Ifield. -He seemed really nice and I was new to that particular dental surgery- Cliff Richard was a patient also and his mum and her husband whom I believe was originally Cliff's chauffeur. The Blue Bell girls also came to see us. Great times!

If I had heard his singing a long time ago I forgot about it. I recently found him on RUclips and I thought and think he is one of the absolute best singers in the English speaking world. He had such a beautiful voice.
The interview would have been a lot better if the interviewer had allowed Frank Ifield to answer all of the questions he asked. But, he kept cutting Frank off. I'm glad to see that he is still alive and I hope he is in good health.

I was parked in the corridor after wAtching his shownwhilst my daughter went upstairs to the foyer.
A door opened and put came Frank, he walked over to
me, took both my hands in his and held them whilst we spoke for about 10 minutes. Such a kind man and I am happy to say that he was my first “love” way back in 1962/3. It has never worn off. 😊
I suppose I will have to wash my hands again one day, but in the meantime ...

There is a funny story, supposedly true directly from Iris Caldwell(Tony
Sheridan's sister), that Paul McCartney and Frank were both after Iris.
Her first kiss was George Harrison(in early innocent grade school).
Anyway, Paul surprisingly bought two expensive front row seats to
Frank's concert and naturally asked Iris to go. Hoping Frank would not
notice them, they sat low...Frank did notice, but sang bravely. Frank
dedicated the last song to Iris and with his right foot kicked the stage
light directly at Paul and sang "Put Your Sweet Lips a Little Closer to
the Phone(He'll Have to Go). Pretty cool!

I had the pleasure of meeting the gentleman, Frank Ifield, on 9th May 2017 after his show in Windsor. I told him a small anecdote from when I was 11 and I heard I Remember You, then managed to peep round the settee to watch him on The London Palladium. At which point I beat my chest and declared " me woman" 🤣
