Thanks for Promoting the Game, nice to see that there are some RUclipsrs out there that haven't forgotten about it! I play on EU Servers and it is pretty easy to find Matches there (usually under 2 minutes in most modes), but I have heard that the Game is pretty dead in Australia and the aspac Region. I have Family in Australia so if I visit them I'll also bring my PC so you'll have +1 Player there ;D. Let's hope we are able to break the 1.800 Concurrent player peak for this Month now with your Support! :D
@metal_ak4 You're underestimating how much can be done with 1k playerbase. I've played Everquest project 99 for years and if 1k playerbase is enough for a functional mmo experience, then it's more than enough for a fps with matchmaking.
I just started played quake yesterday for the first time. Man it's a lot of fun. It's crazy to see how your hands just move and I can only assess myself after I die thinking "damn I should do this next time" thanks for introducing me to this addiction
I owe you my thanks for getting me into quake today. I have less than two hours so far in quake champions and this is already my favorite fps hands down. This is what i was looking for when i wanted to get good at fps games. Watching your video about clan mode is what finally got me to download quake champions and i cant thank you enough for that. From the bottom of my gaming soul thank you for getting me into this amazing game.
@@rogerflipse5121 Sure would, it the closest game to Quake. Both Q3A and UT99 were my very first games when I was 12yr in 2000. Usually if you like one u'll like the other or u just won't like both at all if you don't like the genre.
The reason why it is so underrated is because the game itself is poorly optimized. not many people can enjoy this game. and even if they could run it they still have performance issues. either the game wont start even after download. so you have to verify the game first. and in some cases that wont even do it. the game itself is a mess. if Saber Interactive and id software cared a little more about this game they would fix all of those problems. but they dont. they rahter give us other modes that nobody can play because the game is broken for many people. its a shame really.

2 years ago I was hooked on RJNs videos of QC, but had no computer to run it. As of this week I got it running... And it is glorious. I hope development continues, and the player base expands. Long live Quake!!
Respect to you that you're doing what you can to keep Quake alive. I'll keep on raving about an SDK/Map editor for this game forever. Really enjoying your Quake videos but it is not really possible for me to join up, sadly.
I've been on and off with QC for like 3-6 months and its has only been giving me good time and at first I thought of it like an external thing to get my aim better, but it has showed me how fun it really is by itself without viewing it as aim training game, I think I'm going to enjoy the clan arena as soon as I get my new pc
Hey RJN, saw you promoting Quake clan Arena on your latest mouse review, and you are absolutely right. I love Quake for its fragging, but I hated QC because of the item/weapon/armor/hp management. Stopped playing after a month. Clan arena is my ticket back, reminds me of Q3 TA. It is fast-paced, straightforward and forgiving.
I'm connected to a few arena discords, have you tried them? The majority of them I only know through IRC (people still use this stuff but not as much now that discord is out)
Thanks for the notice, Been waiting to get into it when there are no abilities. I wish they would take away passives and make it only 1 playable character. So you all have the same starting point, No big or small hitboxes, No double jumping or bunny hopping advantage. Just clean aiming skills.

I commented on your Doom video - where you mentioned Clan Arena would be coming back - how I would like to try and get into Quake once that happens. And yes, I started playing it indeed and whilst I'm mostly getting farmed I can at least get kills here and there, I can literally feel how I'm improving and learning a *to me* new game. Also the veteran players arent as toxic towards me as I expected, and the amount of hype I got for winning a 1v1 against a - admittedly quite low health - veteran player, when the other team was on 9 points already really pumped me up lol. So yes I'm enjoying quake, I'm still at the earliest steps of getting into it, but the gameplay is very fun to me already and I will keep playing.
Well I live in South Africa so I doubt I can play on 200 ping, there are some QL players who play on the SA server but I doubt there are any SA servers for us in QL

Hey, what are your thoughts on the unreal tournament games. Every time I search the best arena shooters, most people put unreal tournament above quake 3. I’m just wondering what are your thoughts on unreal vs quake, movement and weapons specifically?
I can’t run quake champions on my shitty pc, is quake live still running? Or are there any decent alternatives to getting into quake? I’ve been playing some mods for the old doom multiplayer that had bhopping and quake weapons, so that works for now, but I’m just curious, especially as a new guy trying to get into quake.
Clan arena is not lots of fighting without the boring stuff, it's lots of spamming and waiting whenever you die, and your team mate can throw really hard by dying early.
After I heard what Clan Arena was I decided to give Quake a try. After a couple days of playing I got hooked and I think Quake is about to take over my free time.

I tried this briefly in the past but now i'm back again. I think i will give this a proper go now, i want some fast shooter. Also iv'e been away from fps since i have not found a mouse i like in like a decade haha(Now i found one that felt somewhat natural from the get go).
Ah this is like TAM from UT2004. I'm sure quake did it first but TAM became massively popular on the later half of UT2004's life. 4v4, 100hp 100shield and all weapons with full ammo to start. Last team standing, first to 10 rounds wins. Definitely give this a try! Love quake just don't have the time to practice it enough so end up getting slaughtered by veterans of the franchise, which quickly makes me quit because I can't learn.

As a side note, I think my razer viper is giving me an RSI. my wrist really hurts when I use it for hours on end. I used to use a razer deathadder elite, which was fine except it was a bit too big, too heavy, started creaking, scroll wheel squeaked and had double clicking issues. Do you have any mouse recommendations of something similar size to the viper and shape to the deathadder?
QC was the first MP FPS I started playing last year when I got back into PC gaming after a 6-7 year break. And for some mad reason I started off only playing FFA death match, I guess I didn't want to handicap my team. It was a real trial by fire, but eventually I got to the upper levels of mediocrity. It takes time, but it sure is satisfying when you start to see your name towards the top of the scoreboard more often. As far as the mouse issue goes, the only lightweight ergo mice I can think of are the g wolves skol and the glorious model D, they're both based on the zowie ec2 shape. I've heard people say good things about the xtrfy M4 as well I used to have the model O and it was great, I only changed it because I managed to pick up a Viper ultimate fairly cheap. Honestly I think I prefer the omron switches on the glorious mice, but everything else about the viper suits me better. How long have you been using the viper out of interest? When I first switched from a rival 310 (ergo) to the model O (ambi) it did take my hands a while to adjust, but I don't have any issues now. Also, what grip style are you using? The viper is really a fingertip mouse for me, far too small to palm grip and too low to claw grip.

As a veteran, I LOVE when a new player gets a kill like that, especially on my team. On the enemy team... not so much. 😂

I've recently returned to Quake Live and Champions and it was only then when I realized that I really needed something else than Battle Royale.
Every time I come back to quake, I get my ass stomped, then go back to whatever I was playing and realize I am twice as good as before
