Build a Bridge - Land To House

- The path to the tiny house crosses over a small ditch. I have been using some boards to walk on but that just does not look very good and it is not all that safe. Now that I have a nice pile of lumber to work with I think its time to make a small bridge.
In this video i make a small bridge from two 4x4's 8 foot long. And a few decking boards. Be sure to use exterior screws when you make your own bridge.

This was just enough to give me the visualization that I needed. Thanks for the vid!
THis was great. Thanks for explaining this as you went along. I'm not super handy, but with your explanations I can do this.
It's just what I needed. Simple. I can DIY that. Thank you Seth!!!! I'm on my own with basic skills and you had the only video which made it easy, cheap and comprehensive. You're an angel :D Now people will use my front door!!!

Dogs make everything better, even when they are in the way. Nice bridge too.
I just did it and its perfect to get across my river in front of my house.
Your dog is getting to excited to cross this bridge you’re building
Great video! Great dog!!
i really liked his video. learned alot. thank u seth
Not bad Seth, will keep your feet dry..Little trick as the bridge wants to teeter if you get close to the edge, get some 3 ft rebar, 1/2 inch will do it, inside the stringers drill thru the treads and stringers and drive the rebar thru them till there even with the top of the treads..that will hold the bridge in place if ya get lots of water flow and from teetering..Good detail and good walkway !!
I use construction, self tapping screws. Way easier to work with. Nice video and great job on making a safer bridge.
Nice bridge.
nice work! next time it is good idea to make stck of 8 inches that helps you to postion the deck bords; you can but it up to the stringers and then slide the deckbord to the end of your stick that avoids you from alot of measuring... and I would have the stingers as far out as possible and maybe use 3 of them...
I want to try this, wish me luck because I have no idea how to build anything. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Seth. Nice work... but I think it would be better if you unscrew the boards and redo... it would be safer for the future. (just my opinion)
What were you thinking? You for sure left way too much over hang on your foot boards. Otherwise all else is pretty good.
Dog: Nice bridge, human - can I pee on it now?
🤣
