- 973 Greybots, 1323 Madtown Robotics, 5026 Iron Panthers, and 4201 The Vitruvian Bots defeat 254 The Cheesy Poofs, 3310 Black Hawk Robotics, 6986 PPT bots, and 948 NRG at the Houston Championship for Destination Deep Space.
That hatch panel getting stuck on 254 at the start will be nightmare fuel for their driver for the rest of their life.
Really was a tough break for the Poofs, but I doubt they'll be too disappointed, since they still had a phenomenal season and lost to an incredible alliance of robots! I think they'll be satisfied with their 55 blue banners :)
this is too real
Bad case of 5190 oof syndrome
@@jackgnibus323 Lmao they don't know who you are

Playing the full song of Sweet Victory...
NFL take notes
Love that they played sweet victory. Well played FIRST.
It was amazing hearing it in person
Yeah I was there in person as well. A great time for sure.
stuck hatch panel at the start for 254, also a miss on cargo later in the match, and then 3310 not getting the triple level 3. They could have had it. Great match by all!
It was a very close match everywhere you look, but I think the Newton alliance deserved to win. Both alliances were filled to the brim with talent and it certainly was an amazing match-up!
I was freaking out in the stands with the rest of the 973 team and then we saw our rocket take off FIRST and lost it.
I can imagine the excitement level! Sounds like an amazing thing to be a part of!
i was in shock with the rest of the 254 team as we saw our rocket take off second
@@adriangonzalez7666 so true adrian

being on the field was so surreal when i saw the blue rocket take off, because i honestly thought that 254 alliance had it when the score was shown at the end of the match. also, being a part of the 973 alliance was an amazing experience. my team (4201) is still pretty shook that we were apart of the winning alliance
Cheesy oofs

254 has been dethroned lets see about 2767 next week

@@dcmmedia99 what?
@@frankschaefer8890 they lost
Madtown's a beast.
Now how did Cheesy Poofs break the world record for points like 4 times. Go undefeated before Einstein and then play on Einstein and choke so incredibly hard. Im on team 4522 and we were the 8th alliance up against cheesy poofs in quarter finals and my team lost and i thought we lost to the best. but nope we lost to the second best. lol
You still did very well making it to this level of play... making the playoffs at world champs is an amazing accomplishment! The Poofs were really good in Houston, but I think Madtown was really just that much better because of their swerve driving ability and the Poofs got quite unlucky with a few slowdowns and mess-ups, as well as some failed climbs by Black Hawk. Congrats on making it as far as you did, though!
3310 was probably one of the best scoring robot in Houston. but it lacks a bit of the robustness when other robot came to defense. yet in this match only 254 and 1323 had this kind of robust nesswhen facing the defence (by using turret and the swerve respectively). Looking at rhe defence bots, 5026 clearly drove better than 6986 even 6986 has better machnism. So the perfect strategy the blue side picked in this tiebreaker, plus some minor mistakes the red has made, led to the winning of this game.
i think it was mostly just 254 getting their hatch stuck
3/6 of those teams were in the finals at Chezy Champs 2018
am I the only one here after 2 years
No
I’m from team 6986 and it was heart breaking seeing we lose with such a small score difference since it’s the first time that any Chinese teams made this far. ;-;
i feel like they should have sent 948
Sai Murthy Yea idk if they finished fixing the machines, or at least 948 would come out once. Remember when 948 broke in one of the Einstein games?
If only yall didn't drove out Hab 3 and crashed
Justin Norman nope we would’ve still been 3 points short even if we nailed the climb.
@@xiangxp I am fro. Team 948 and they told me that they fixed the robot also take a look at the match we played defenceman against 1619 in Turing we are the best defence bot I feel like we could have done a better job in defending
No one actually believes that the kids on The Cheesy Poofs actually designed and built any of their robots for any year in FIRST, same goes for Madtown. One day these kids will realize they didn't do the work necessary to win this competition and that their coaches and parents were the key to them winning the competition. Really sad that the kids on the team didn't get to experience the competition for themselves. FIRST is not about driving a robot. As Dean Kamen has stated FIRST is really NOT about the robots. It is about the learning journey, and unfortunately these teams coaches and parents just don't get that, and the real losers are the kids on these teams. Ultimately all they will have is a meaningless trophy, and not the experiences they should have received.
Obviously, this is sarcasm. This is a copypasta from a comment on an FTC video.
Mr koeniseggs says, "Moderately funny retort, but if you really knew anything you would know that I'm correct in my statement."
No one actually believes that Edward zhang actually knows anything about robots for any year in FIRST, same goes for his mother. One day this kid will realize he didn't do what was necessary to win this competition and that the Poof's hard work were the key to them winning the competition. Really awesome that the kids on the team got to experience the competition for themselves. FIRST is not about driving a robot. As Dean Kamen has stated FIRST is really NOT about the robots. It is about the learning journey, and fortunately 254 and 1323 understands that, and the real losers are the clueless spectators, like eddie. Ultimately all they will have is an awesome trophy, and all the experiences they should have received.

Edward zhang Being on team 254, all of that is false (I know it is a quote but you putting that there means you are saying it is your own belief). We work tirelessly like every other team around the world and are thankful for being able to make it to worlds. It’s a miracle that we had even got to the finals but it’s not the winning that counts, but the experience.
@@emilianohansen9859 it is a copypasta. I was not being serious. I know that 254 is one of the few non-mentor built teams in frc and I truly respect how you guys build dominant robots year after year. I really liked your bot this year and it's too bad that you guys got unlucky in finals. Good luck next year!
It’s 1323, the team that whooped our asses in Sacramento
What a match. I’m up in Detroit later this week lol.
Good luck at Detroit! Hope your team does well!
Thanks!
Amazon Warehouse staff should be worried. These Bots are aggressively good at stacking shelves!
Sweet victory
What's the name of the song during the match?
1323 is amazing
yes
Oof, I was rooting for 3310. If only that climb finished.
Even with the climb, it wouldn't have been enough. Blue alliance just outplayed them in every aspect
If y’all saw a guy in a blue cape filled with buttons and a US Flag cowboy hat, it was me
Madtown is nuts
We won for this competition
Its because they were Red and also Turing
I have one of the cargo balls used in this :D
