So fun watching all these videos as we were on this cruise with you! Have actually seen ourselves in your videos. Its like experiencing it all over again. Thank you!😊
Your Halifax donairs made me so jealous! I love the sauce. But I learned the hard way not to try eating one while walking uphill to the Citadel, unless you want sticky hands and face by the time you arrive.
So happy you had fun in Halifax. We live out a bit from there, but you guys saw more than we have. Now we're going be tourists in our own province lol. 😅
Welcome! Hope you feel the city treated you right! Happy to see you got to try our official culinary treat, a Donair!! You got yourself in to see all those "must-see" spots, fantastic!!
Similar to Gyro/Schwarma. They have a cucumber/dill, garlic, greek yogurt salt and pepper. If you don't like dill and you're making it don't add dill, tastes perfect.
In my Navy submariner days, we would join in with the Canadian Navy in ASW exercises. They still had the "Rum Ration" back then and we would pay $5 to the crew to take their "Wee Dram." A win/win for everyone! Hands across the border. Good times!
On the pronunciation debate, I say Ka-nard versus Qnard. We have a Cunard Street and I’ve never heard it pronounced Qnard locally, but certainly did when we toured a Titanic exhibit in the UK!!
Looks like you had a lovely day 😁 we were there at the port and big fiddle a couple of years ago as we did a trip down to Sydney my husband is from there it’s a lovely place Enjoying your videos 👍😁
Hi there looks like you are fabulous time, always enjoy your videos, your donair looks similar to what we get in the UK but we call it a Doner kebab pronounced Do nah Kuh bab, something brits get on the way home after a night out 😂
During the opening scenes my Nova Scotian husband saw Jill take the tinfoil off her donair. He shouted out "Rooky mistake!" Every Nova Scotian knows you keep the tinfoil on and just peel it back or else it's too messy. So now you know too. 😅
Thanks for the memories of Halifax. As a young Royal Canadian Naval Officer, I still have fond memories of drinking, smoking and running around with loose women in Halifax.
Donair sauce: condensed milk, sugar and vinegar; and if you didn’t have the sauce, you didn’t actually have a Donair. PS: Tony’s has the best. (Robert’s are legendary for their size, but Tony’s taste better)
Good thing we had the sauce. We had consulted a friend that grew up in Halifax in where we should go - he directed us to that spot on Pizza corner. It must be one of those things where everyone has a different personal fav spot.

Enjoying this cruise with you so much ,great job folks and thank you
Glad you enjoyed it

LOL too funny and we can imagine how that would play out. We never did climb the hill any further to the fort on this trip.
Excellent genealogy to track down!
So happy you had fun in Halifax. We live out a bit from there, but you guys saw more than we have. Now we're going be tourists in our own province lol. 😅
It's always fun to discover new things in your own backyard!😊
Welcome! Hope you feel the city treated you right! Happy to see you got to try our official culinary treat, a Donair!! You got yourself in to see all those "must-see" spots, fantastic!!
We absolutely loved Halifax! We felt so welcome and the Donair was delicious.

Interesting.
@@CruisingCanucks They are really good. Gyro is Greek and Schwarma is middle eastern. Just for cultural reference.
Good taste of Halifax. It was great that you did more in this port to show what’s available on a day with us all. Hope to cruise there soon!
Halifax is one of our favorite ports.
In my Navy submariner days, we would join in with the Canadian Navy in ASW exercises. They still had the "Rum Ration" back then and we would pay $5 to the crew to take their "Wee Dram." A win/win for everyone! Hands across the border. Good times!
Glad we could help! We hear the Australian Navy has similar traits of the Canadian Navy.
Great visit in Halifax! Always love the music you choose for your vlogs. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. Cheers!
Thanks so much! We try to pick music that fits the mood of the vlog.

We need to take this one to the Govener General of Canada for a ruling! 🤣
Loved the day in Halifax. We need to go there again to explore more.
Such a beautiful city. There are so many things to do there.
Being from Halifax and not being back for years really enjoyed ….
Thanks 😊
Another great video! We can’t wait to take this cruise, Halifax looks like a great place.
You'll love it, Halifax is a great port city!
Happy travels Jill and Jerry …nice seeing you today at CIU. Happy travels. Jill and Gordon
It was great to meet you both! We hope you enjoy your cruise.
Looks like you had a lovely day 😁 we were there at the port and big fiddle a couple of years ago as we did a trip down to Sydney my husband is from there it’s a lovely place Enjoying your videos 👍😁
Sydney is so charming, we hope to visit again.
Mr Canuck I need your honest answer....how many dresses does Mrs Canuck own. Love your blogs.
That's a great question and I wish I knew the answer! It's a lot and I need to count them. I'm guessing over 100!
Hi there looks like you are fabulous time, always enjoy your videos, your donair looks similar to what we get in the UK but we call it a Doner kebab pronounced Do nah Kuh bab, something brits get on the way home after a night out 😂
Sounds great! Does it have the sweet white sauce too?
@ not a big fan of kebab myself but usually you get it with mayo, garlic mayo, mint yogurt or chilli sauce x
In the UK the meat is usually lamb based in doner kebabs usually as said a late night takeaway after a few beers !
@phildavis2135 interesting! Lamb certainly seems to be more of a staple in the British isles.
During the opening scenes my Nova Scotian husband saw Jill take the tinfoil off her donair. He shouted out "Rooky mistake!" Every Nova Scotian knows you keep the tinfoil on and just peel it back or else it's too messy. So now you know too. 😅
That’s a good tip to know! We’ll keep that in mind next time.
Too bad all the bars were so crowded. All the food looked scrumptious!!
Were you hiding the fact that you had no pants again at the end ? 😂😂😂
It couldn’t have happened twice! Could it!? 🫣
LOVE the Real Poutine. Can't find really good Poutine in the U.S. and we are maybe 1 hour out of Windsor. You'd think we would decent ones but NOPE.
We wonder if the secret is being closet to Quebec?
You never said what you thought of the calamari at Salty Dog (?)
It was likely the biggest miss of the meal.
Thanks for the memories of Halifax. As a young Royal Canadian Naval Officer, I still have fond memories of drinking, smoking and running around with loose women in Halifax.
Sure it can be quite the hopping place at night.
Donair is pronounced Doughnair. If you want the full experience you need to eat them with chocolate milk. The perfect hangover food.
Mmmm chocolate milk would be good with that. Next time.
I'm like Mrs. Canuck I do not like the donair sauce. I find they compare to a Gyro. Keith's is a good beer
The sauce was sweeter than expected - where the gyro has that tiziki sauce?
The Canucks covering the Canuck

@@CruisingCanucksKoD (and Pizza Corner) is popular and has “the name” For the cruise terminal is probably the best option based on proximity
What is your logo doing on the mirror? Trying to hide something, eh!
More ‘behind’ the scenes footage again!? 🫣

Thanks for reminder to pack my earplugs...I hate bagpipes.
We would advise against a Scotland cruise.
Nice logo placement at the end. If you know, you know. I know.😂
We weren't sure where to put the logo ‘butt’ that seemed obvious 🫣
